One subject was trans- ported to omasville per orders of mental health. Deputies assisted 5 stranded motorists, provided 2 es- corts, and conducted 13 se- curity checks. Officers con- ducted 28 traffic stops. On August 18th, Jason Lomineck, age 42, was ar- rested and charged with aggravated assault, false im- prisonment, and cruelty to child. On August 18th, Casey Lomineck, age 27, was ar- rested and charged with aggravated assault, false im- prisonment, and cruelty to child. On August 19th, Daquan R. Leonard, age 21, was ar- rested by Donalsonville Po- lice Dept and charged with theſt by taking. On August 20th, Joshua K. Kilpatrick, age 24, was arrested by Dept of Com- munity Supervision for a probation violation. On August 20th, Macey Hurley, age 17, was arrest- ed by Donalsonville Police Dept and charged with driv- ing without license and fail- ure to obey stop sign. On August 21st, Mat- thew Atkinson, age 32, was arrested by Dept of Natural Resources and charged with hunting under the influ- ence. On August 21st, John M. Wood, age 47, was arrested by Dept of Natural Resourc- es and charged with hunting under the influence. On August 22nd, Chris- topher M. Brown, age 47, was arrested by Dept of Nat- ural Resources and charged with boating under the in- fluence, operating vessel without lights, and insuffi- cient PFDs on board. On August 22nd, Wil- liam S. Bryan, age 46, was arrested and charged with possession of meth, posses- sion of marijuana, failure to maintain lane. He is being held in jail on a probation violation. On August 22nd, Se- breena Phillips, age 23, was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding. On August 22nd, Katrell Tucker, age 39, was arrested by Donalsonville Police Dept and charged with DUI and open container. One inmate was trans- ported to Houston County. One inmate was picked up from Miller County. An average of 43 inmates was housed in jail each day. In addition, the Sher- iff ’s Office / E911 Dispatch handled 44 calls for Grady EMS, 4 for the first respond- ers, 1 for the coroner, and made 1 call for EMS Mu- tual aid. ey handled 105 calls for Donalsonville Police Dept, 10 for Donal- sonville Fire Dept, 2 for Iron City Fire Dept, 3 for Spring Creek Fire Dept, 1 for codes enforcement, 4 for Dept of Natural Resources, 1 for Georgia Forestry, 3 for Georgia State Patrol, 22 for other law enforcement or emergency service agencies, and 13 others. e office received a to- tal of 131 calls to 9-1-1 in- cluding 18 non-emergency calls. Dur- ing his stay in Savannah he’s filling the pulpit of the Bull Street Baptist Church during the absence of the pastor there. Rev. Brooks is ex- pected to return home next week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Berman, of Lex- ington, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Berman, Tuesday. Seminole County Singing Con- vention will meet at the Iron City schoolhouse on the second Sun- day in September, which is for an all day singing. Special invitation is extended to all singers and the public is cordially invited to spend the day at Iron City for this occa- sion. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Blair and children, and Mr. omas Roberts had a wonderful time as they vis- ited relatives and friends in Chat- tanooga, Tennessee, this week. Seminole County School Su- perintendent N. P. Malcolm announced this week that all Seminole County schools will open for the regular Fall term on Monday. He urges that all pupils enter on this date, since en- tering at a later date will prove a handicap to the pupil and the class which the pupil enters. Miss Mary McGee and Jane O’Neal of Roberta are spending this weekend as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Champion. Mrs. P. E. Wilkin, Junior of Colquitt was a guest of her mother, Mrs. Eunice Hudson, this week. Monday and Tuesday showing at the Olive eatre, don’t miss Joel McRea and Barbara Stanwick in Union Pacific. e Donalsonville Lions Club is sponsoring a dance on Friday night, starting at 9:30 p.m. for the benefit of the Girl Scouts organi- zation which has recently been started in the community by the Lions Club. e dancing contin- gent of the city and all of Seminole County is urged to attend, not only because of a good band, but because of the worthy cause that it is being given. e Seminole football Indians are working hard each day, prepar- ing for an invasion of Blakely on September 4, for the season opener with the Bobcats, Region 1B West’s defending champions. Word is that the Indians are in good condition physically and mentally, and he expects them to be ready when the opening kick comes. e Indians spent a week in Florida, building power they hope will enable them to snap their losing streak and have a successful campaign this year. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sims vis- ited with Mr. and Mrs. James Long of Dothan during the weekend. Wayne Sims, Jr. returned home on Sunday aſter several days visit with Mr. and Mrs. Long. Mrs. Janet Collins and Mr. Larry Hunter were married Saturday. Daniel Hart has spent the Sum- mer here with relatives, and he will return to Cleveland, Ohio this week with his parents, the Claude E. Harts. Mr. and Mrs. Leo McNair cel- ebrated their 56th wedding an- niversary with a luncheon served buffet style at their home on Sun- day. ere were four generations present. Mr. and Mrs. McNair have seven children living, 18 grand- children and 12 great-grandchil- dren. Fred Nevels of Camilla recently presented Mrs. Pauline Newton with a certificate of recognition of 35 years of service in the Depart- ment of Agriculture. Mr. Nevels also presented Miss Mary Good- win with a certificate for complet- ing 20 years of service. Both ladies work in the Seminole ASCS office. Members of the Donalsonville Lions Club heard a double-header program this week when J.B. Clarke presented C.C. Lee and Louis Bon- ner, principals of the Donalsonville Elementary School and Seminole County High School. e educa- tors told the members of the con- dition of the county’s schools, and how a student is prepared for life aſter graduation. Brittany Alexandria Beard (Miss Kitty), daughter of Gerald and Tra- cie Beard, is a winner of the lat- est America’s Beautiful Children beauty pageant. She placed first in beauty and appearance, was best dressed and had the prettiest smile. Ella Lee, Betty Cox and Margaret Murrell recently participated in the Seminole County Dept. of Family and Children Services’ Peach, adult education class and received their GED. e Donalsonville Garden Club hosted the August luncheon meet- ing of the Sunshine Club at the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Euna Gibson, Mrs. Rosa Trawick and Mrs. Beatrice Trawick served as hostesses, and Mrs. Rosa Tra- wick brought beautiful cut flowers from her yard for the center table. Mrs. Dorothy Parker won the door prize, furnished by the host club, and Rev. Luther Hastey was the speaker. Aſter 22 years of work at Geor- gia Pacific, Melvin Anderson was pleasantly surprised to find a lim- ousine awaiting him aſter his last checkout recently. Local tennis players had a suc- cessful outing in the Dothan junior open recently. Rebecca Lewis won the 14 and under girls division and Auneca Fain captured the 16 and under girls title. e other players all played to at least the second or third round. ose participating included Bryan Grantham, Jessica Lewis, Hallie Fain, Elizabeth Pon- der, Rebecca Lewis, Kevin McCarty and Auneca Fain. Shenica Lewis recently complet- ed school at Wallace College. Shen- ica studied courses in cosmetology and related subjects and plans to at- tend Atlanta State Board.
