This supervision period might not end until late in the evening or continueovernight because candidates in the UK will not yet have started theirexaminations. In these cases centres may release candidates to
parental/guardian supervision until the end of the supervision period.
Any release to parental/guardian supervision must be recorded in theTimetable Variation and Confidentiality Declaration for OvernightSupervision for International Centres. The declaration must beappropriately signed and retained by the centre for 6 months and may besubject to monitoring by Pearson. A copy of the declaration may be found onpage 6 of this document.
Tables listing both the release time and the earliest time at which candidatescan be released to parental/guardian supervision may be found on
Appendix A for January, March and November series when GMT applies in UK
Appendix B for June series when BST applies in UK.
Centres are reminded that exam question papers must be collected from thestudent at the end of the exam and should not be retained by students in
any circumstance.
Requirements for centres located within time zone GMT 0 – GMT +4
ALL centres located in the time zone GMT 0 to GMT +4 must take theirexaminations at the same time as the UK (09.00 or 13.30 GMT/BST) and
candidates must remain under supervision until 1 hour after the start of theexamination.
Regulatory References
Ofqual requires all awarding organisations to establish and maintain theircompliance with regulatory conditions and criteria. As part of this process, policies that relate to Pearson’s status as an awarding organisation will
reference the particular conditions and criteria that they address.
This policy addresses the following regulatory criteria and conditions:
Compliance with regulatory documents A8.1
Pearson may use appropriate means to check that these conditions have
been adhered to and will take action if there is evidence of anycontravention. This could lead to the disqualification of any candidatesinvolved and could affect whether Pearson will allow such concessions to bemade in the future.
