Political 'Benedict Arnolds' Prepared By David Rice – DR_Sparktrician, February 2010
There are infinitely more ways than just, 'trying to do what is in an animal's best interest', to make my list of “Political Benedict Arnolds”, however this act was the catalyst for the list. Our legislators and representatives have lost sight of what makes this nation, the greatest nation in the world ‐ The United States of America. Many of these 'lords' listed herein have seen and acted in a manner that suggests that our liberties, pursuit of happiness and the means in which we choose to live our lives, do not matter. These 'lords' have chosen to pursue legislation that seeks to even control the type of pet that we may choose. I do not believe even in China or Cuba that what you chose to keep as a pet is of concern to the government. This list of 'lords' and 'Political Benedict Arnolds' will continue to grow so long as there are crooked, lazy and willfully negligent people in office. It is very easy to keep a minority oppressed, just look at how many years it took from the release of slaves to the true freedom we experience today ‐ only to now be lorded over by drunken polyarchic rulers.
This document covers sponsors and cosponsors of legislation and the effects the legislation will have on the nation and its populous.
This is not intended to be a partisan list, in fact I have gone back and made political affiliation the final entry (unless additional entries are made) declaring their party affiliation.

S269: Captive Wildlife Safety Act (passed); makes it a felony for currently legal non commercial owners of big cats to take their pets with them across state lines, not even in case of medical emergency or a natural disaster. http://www.rexano.org//NewsArchivePages/CWSA_hsus_animal_rights_tiger.pdf
