Station One Equipment: pattern blocks, large sheets of paper, colored pencils / markers. Instructions: 1. On a piece of large paper write your

name and the heading ‘Polygons.’ 2. Use colored pencils to trace straight sides

around the different pattern blocks. 3. Color each shape with colored pencils or

markers. 4. Label your polygon with the correct name.

Station Two Equipment: dot paper, colored pencils, ruler Instructions: 1. Put your name on a sheet of dot paper. 2. Join the dots to make as many different

polygons as you can. 3. Color each polygon. 4. Label your polygon with the correct name. Example: . . . . .

Station Three Equipment: sheets of paper, pattern blocks, colored pencils / markers Instructions: 1. Put your name on a sheet of paper. 2. Design a pattern that tessellates using at

least 2 different polygons. 3. Tessellation is joining shapes together to

make a pattern. The pattern has no gaps. Example:

Station Four Equipment: magazines, sheets of card, scissors, glue Instructions: 1. Choose a picture from a magazine. 2. Paste the picture onto a piece of card. 3. Cut the picture into different polygons to

make a jigsaw. 4. Swap with a partner to put the jigsaw

back together.
