Il Progetto PON C1-FSE-2014-344 ha permesso al Liceo scientifico Statale “Cosimo De Giorgi” di Lecce di organizzare due percorsi formativi finalizzati all’acquisizione della certificazione di lingua Inglese IELTS.
Il primo percorso formativo “Full Immersion in English Society” è stato indirizzato a 15 studenti che nell’anno scolastico 2013/14 hanno superato in modo eccellente la terza classe.Il secondo, invece, “English for Life” ha visto protagonisti 15 studenti che hanno fatto registrare ottimi risultati al termine del loro quarto anno di studio liceale.
Entrambi i percorsi sono stati caratterizzati da corsi in lingua inglese con xx ore tenute a Londra e successive 15 ore presso il Liceo “De Giorgi”, sempre con docenti madrelingua prima della prova per la certificazione IELTS.

Gli obiettivi che il Piano ha inteso raggiungere sono stati i seguenti:
1) strutturare il profilo formativo dello studente liceale in una dimensione europea
2) sostenere l’orientamento degli studenti nel mondo del lavoro e degli studi universitari
3) promuovere l’esercizio di una cittadinanza europea
4) promuovere l'uso della lingua straniera in contesti diversi da quelli prettamente scolastici
5) aumentare il numero di studenti con certificazione delle competenze linguistiche secondo il quadro europeo
6) acquisire forme di comportamento che consentano di partecipare in modo efficace e costruttivo alla vita sociale e lavorativa.

I due percorsi sono stati rivolti agli studenti che nell’anno scolastico 2013/14 hanno frequentato la classe terza (l’istituto conta 12 classi terze) e finalizzati all'acquisizione di una certificazione di livello B2 e agli studenti delle classi quarte e finalizzato all'acquisizione di una certificazione di livello C1.
Tutti i percorsi hanno previsto uno stage di formazione in lingua, cultura e civiltà inglese, da svolgersi a Londra, a sostegno dell’esercizio di una cittadinanza europea e di competenze linguistiche spendibili in tutto il mondo. Tale stage ha integrato gli allievi in un contesto di vita quotidiana e di studio tipicamente anglosassone e ha consentito l’acquisizione della lingua viva, parlata e scritta, usata nelle relazioni quotidiane e l’acquisizione della civiltà anglosassone nel contesto sociale e di lavoro.
I destinatari sono stati selezionati mediante bando interno che ha tenuto conto della motivazione, del profitto (voto in inglese e media generale) valutato nella sessione di scrutinio precedente la circolare MIUR 676, di un test di selezione. I destinatari non hanno dovuto registrare la sospensione di giudizio a giugno e, a parità di merito, si è privilegiato lo studente appartenente a famiglia con minor reddito.
I Percorsi

In ciascun percorso al termine delle attività di stage gli studenti hanno sostenuto l’esame IELTS per la certificazione delle competenze acquisite in lingua inglese.
Ogni percorso formativo ha avuto la durata di 3 settimane all’estero (dal 1° settembre al 21 settembre 2014) con 60 ore di lezione e 15 ore di formazione al ritorno a Lecce con docente esperta in madrelingua.
Per ogni modulo, accanto agli esperti, i tutor sono stati almeno due docenti interni di cui uno di inglese (o con elevata conoscenza della lingua inglese parlata) e l’altro di altra disciplina con priorità per le discipline scientifiche o non linguistiche in considerazione dell’attivazione dei corsi CLIL.

In England, the public means of transport, for instance the underground, are very efficient so that you can move to different parts of London very quickly. (Emanuela R.)

For instance, I found really interesting visiting the National Gallery, where there is the most beautiful artwork in the world, but I also loved going shopping in Portobello Road, where you can find all kind of things. (Paolo C.)

One of the things I liked most was visiyGng the churches was seeing the coexistance of the Baroque style, but also the poorest Anglican style. (Francesco C.)

During this summer, in September, thirty students of De Giorgi ScienGfic High School, who had excelled in their English language skills during the past years, were invited to take part in a study trip to London. In three weeks they managed to improve their knowledge of BriGsh culture and tradiGons, having visited some of the most important monuments and sites of the enGre region, such as St. Paul's Cathedral, the Greenwich Observatory, the BriGsh Museum and so on. During the first three weeks of September we had a fantasGc trip to London, we stayed in London Bankside House, it is a college near the river Thames. (Luigi G.)

My favourite memory is the Gme I spent with my schoolmates: when I len I didn’t know anyone of the group, now I cannot even imagine staying without them. (Maria Assunta P.)

When my teachers told us that today we would have been at Straeord Upon Avon I could't believe what I was hearing! 'Finally I will have the possibility to visit Shakespeare's house' I thought. The students visited many important interesGng museums like the BriGsh Museum or the Natural History and many others.They visited also very famous churches like St Paul. (Sara F.)
