AquaBlok® pond rehab application applied from a remote-controlled, belt-driven conveyor (often referred to as a “stone slinger”). The ~1/4-acre residential pond was drained and dredged several years prior to remove excessive organic material which had accumulated on the bottom. When the basin was refilled, it never held water as designed. All areas except for the swimming beach (undisturbed during the cleanout) were lined with AquaBlok through the standing water (depths of up to 8’).

AquaBlok® pond rehab application using a “stone slinger.” Note one person controlling radial belt and the second person floating the newly applied (dry) product along the interior side slope to insure consistent material thickness. Slinger trucks typically have a 15-18 cubic yard capacity and can broadcast AquaBlok up to 90’ from the back bumper.

AquaBlok® pond rehab application from a remote-controlled, belt-driven conveyor (“stone slinger”). Note yellow lines floating on water’s surface. These lines are staked at regular intervals forming a grid to serve as a visual guideline for the applicator. In this case, each 17x17’ square received one ton of product (achieving a 7-lb/SF average application rate).

An ~1/4-acre residential pond refilling following an AquaBlok® application. The pond was drained and dredged several years prior to the AquaBlok treatment to remove excessive organic material which had accumulated on the bottom. When the basin was refilled after the “cleanout,” it never held water as designed. A localized leak could not be identified, so the pond owner opted to line the majority of the basin at a rate of 7-lbs/SF. The basin is now fully functional.
