    Rotational Molding Troubleshooting

Problem : Poor flow - into mold

    recesses

    Poor mold design.

    - Increase radii at the corners or recesses

    - Use a width to depth ratio at least 4 to 1 for all ribbed or closelyspaced areas

    - Increase heat transfer around narrow features or other complexareas using air flow amplifier, heat deflectors or thermal pins

Improper mold rotation - Adjust the ratio and/or speed of rotation

    Probable Cause Possible Solutions

Too low melt index - Use a resin with a higher melt index (e.g. MFI 7).
