Low taxes in Nevada have made Las Vegasthe place to be for industrial and professional growth, as inventory or corporate taxes are levied.

The Assessor’s office of Clark County determines the value of each parcel of landwether improved or unimproved. Thevalue is multiplied by 35% to acquire theassessed value of property.

Property taxes are figured by multiplyingthe assessed value by the tax rate, whichfor the 2001-2002 tax year was on average$3.25 per $100 of assessed value.

To calculate the tax on your home, let'sassume you have a home with a taxablevalue of $100,000, located in the City of LasVegas. The tax rate for 2001-02 in the City is$3.2546 per hundred of assessed value. Todetermine the assessed value, multiply thetaxable value of the home ($100,000) by theassessment ratio (35%):

$100,000 X .35 = $35,000 assessed valueTo calculate the tax, multiply the assessedvalue by the tax rate ($3.2546 per hundreddollars of assessed value).

$35,000 (assessed value) x .032546 (tax rate)= $1,139 taxes for the 2001-02 fiscal year.

Payments are made quarterly and due as follows:
