Portable File Format (PDF)

A Portable File Format (PDF) is a file format used to present and exchange documents

reliably, independent of software, hardware, or operating system. PDF files are great for

sharing documents with other people for projects at work or school, or for sharing files in

the workplace. For example, if several people in the workplace use a universal form for the

same purpose, you can put the PDF on each computer so everyone can access it whenever

they need it.

Pros:

You can password protect PDF’s to prevent others from copying or editing your

work.

Protect personal, private, or sensitive information by permanently deleting this

information. You can also pick and choose who seems the information.

You can encrypt the contents of the document

No paper!

Along with documents that contain hyperlinks and images, you can also add videos

and audio as well.

PDF format is universal. When you create a word document in a word processing

program, the person opening the document may experience problems with fonts,

and the layout of the document. Creating a document in PDF software eliminates

this problem altogether. Anyone with a PDF reader can open and view your

document.

Cloud file sharing works when a file is stored on an online or cloud file-sharing service. The

file is uploaded using the service control panel and upon successful upload the file is

generated with a unique URL. File owners can then share the URL with multiple users for

accessing and downloading the file. The file is stored on the file-sharing provider’s cloud

storage servers and can then be accessed globally anytime through the internet.
