    Present Statistics

Today 2.6 billion people in the world have no

access to toilets and 1.3 billion live in India and

    China.

less than 20 % of Indians have access to sanitation.

In rural areas, a mere 3% of the population has

    access to sanitation.

In urban areas merely 20% of the population has

access to water /flush toilets connected to sewage

    system .

In slum areas, where more than half of

Mumbai lives, an average 81 people share asingle toilet. In some places it rises to an eye-watering 273.

A survey by WaterAid (international NGO) has

ranked India second on the list of the WORLDS

    WORST PLACE FOR SANITATION

    Current StateNo urinals in Schools

y Functional toilets locked because of lack of

running water supply students leave the

    facilities dirty and unusable

y Insufficient state support in maintaining

    hygiene & sanitation facilities.

y Less than 40% schools in Uttarakhand have

a place for sanitation, however dismal it

    maybe.

Who will clean my toilet - is the refrain from

schools across India. The government cannot

clean toilets in thousands of schools, many

    tucked away in rural corners.

The schools will have to develop their own

mechanism to keep their toilets useable," says

    Prashant Panigrahi,Chief Engineer,

    government of Orissa.

    Current State

y No urinals in Public area

    According to the urban development

norms, there should be one public urinal

per 100 citizens in a city like Pune, but

the situation in the city isalarming, with one urinal per 9,100

    citizens.

Dwindling numbers due to demolition of

some urinals for road widening and other

    works.

y No urinals during travelling, atconstruction sites, at local touristspots like museums, local bazaars ormonuments

    Functioning of a Portable Toilet

The cleaning service consists of a waste collection tank mounted on a vehicle coupled with a

vacuum pump, which evacuates the waste and also cleans the toilet with fresh water using ahigh pressure jetting system..

The bio chemical liquid also has a mint or cherry aroma keeping the unit in pristine conditionpreventing foul smell. It is absolutely bio degradable and not harmful to the environment, drainage or the treatment plant where it is safely disposed

The unit contains a waste tank of varied capacity

Before the unit is used (at the time of cleaning session) the tank is charged with an ecofriendly biochemical additive which helps in degrading the solid waste considerably

The toilet cabin being mains free unit (need not be connected to septic tank or sewer line) hasto be evacuated \using a vacuum driven system

    Business Model

    B

usiness model is based on the mobilerestrooms and the services alongside.

It is a pure service model. The unit is

installed for free, and the company

charges for the cleaning and evacuation

of waste to make profit because of larger

    customer base.

    Currently they manage around 2,400

    restrooms, doing about 12,000 services

per week using around 30 service trucks.

Rs 3000-4000 charges per monthlong term

    contracts

    Rs1500-2000 Rs/day @events->major sourc

of revenue and margins at 20%

In slum areas , partnership with NGOs and

they charge around Rs 300 for every family of

    five people.

They employ people from the slums as peopl

    Scalability

India is a large market for waste management

    services.

From urban places( 54%), to rural domestic

    households(21%), proper sanitation facilities are

    the need of the hour.

Thus, portable washrooms business will grow

and competition will drive the need of regulation

charge around Rs 300 for every family of five people.

Employment of people from slum to carry out

the maintenance activity and organizing social awareness

    campaign

The profits generated from our paying is worked out to

provide portables in the slums, as well as at public events.
