In the near future, PLCC’s Adult Education Department will offer

training programs in robotics technology and advanced manufacturing through a state grant recently awarded to the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Education Consortium (RAMTEC). RAMTEC is the recipient of a $14.99 million grant from Ohio’s Straight A Fund to address the skills gaps by preparing adult students with advanced manufacturing and engineering skills. The primary goal of the grant is to train workers to obtain jobs in the manufacturing industry. Plans are underway at PLCC to renovate and provide upgrades for the equipment that will be installed in the training area. The Adult Education Department has plans to integrate theRAMTEC facilities into existing programs in addition to offering part-time certification courses to employers and individuals who wish to make themselves more marketable.
