Statement of InterestAll of my life I have been very interested in how things work, and the most popular words that left my mouth as a kid were why and how. As I grew older, I thought that I wanted to become an engineer, and as I tried to cast art aside to focus on school I found that I needed to release my creativity. This lead me to photography, traditional art and most recently, web and graphic design. I realized that what I wanted to do was design, but a part of me still wanted to become an engineer. When I found the Industrial Design program, I immediately knew that it was the career for me. It seemed like it had been designed just for me and was the perfect mix of arts and academics that I had searched for. I believe that the Carleton Industrial Design program, being closely associated with the other Engi-neering and Design programs, will satisfy both the artistic and academic sides of me. I look forward to the chance to let my ideas free and transform my many hobbies into a career that’s right for me.Sincerely,

Also, the contrast between the dark macro photos and the bright subject emphasize both the subject and the macro photos that the model is holding.
