RENDERINGI learned rendering using only computer processes, but I have since grown to love using photoshop to artistically enhance my work.

COMPUTER AIDED DRAWING/MODELINGI began learning AutoCAD in high school. Since then, I learned 3DS Max, Sketchup and Revit. I hope to continue to expand my knowledge in this area. I also recently learned GIS mapping.

PHYSICAL MODELINGPhysical modeling has always been a larger challenge for me, but I have learned to use shop tools and laser cutters, and I LUQV`WHY[PTVKLSPUNMVYX\PJRZ[\KPLZ

I N T E R E S T S F U T U R EARCHITECTUREI am fascinated by buildings that layer material systems to create a beautiful machine. My taste leans towards a traditionally subdued aesthetic palet infused with technology that highlights the purpose and functional idea of the design.

URBAN PLANNINGThe practice of architecture is often focuses on isolated I\PSKPUNZ I\[ 0 WYLMLY PUÄSS ZP[\H[PVUZ [OH[ JOHSSLUNL [OLarchitect to think outside the box. This has led me to a keen interest on the social and physical dynamics of urban planning in architecture.

R IVER METROPOLISChicago, IL

River Metropolis is a megastructure development on the Chicago River designed to give maximum amenities to all residents. The apartments terrace towards the central park on the site, allowing patios for each unit. The remaining space below the apartments is then converted into an open shopping mall plaza on the East, and a boat dock on the West.

The development is designed to be mixed use, with the bottom two stories commercial and remaining stories residential. A series of second story interior and exterior bridges allow easy navigation IL[^LLUZOVWZHUKH [^LSM[OZ[VY`IYPKNL PUJS\KLZH SHWWVVSHUKimpressive views for the residents.

All three organizations are partially limited by dated or unhealthy ^VYRPUNLU]PYVUTLU[Z HUK^V\SKILULÄ[ MYVTHUL^ MHJPSP[` [OH[houses these organizations together.

The proposed solution to this opportunity is the Kansas Energy Center: One Facility that houses all three organizations, their VMÄJLZHUKHSPIYHY`VMKH[HKLZPNULK[V̂ P[OZ[HUKH[VYUHKV

One of the key aspects of my design is to unify the building through the concept of an “indoor street.” This central public gathering area provides circulation and three key functions: an education zone, a café, and a hearing room for meetings and land dispute rulings.

This studio emphasized technical completeness, so I created graphics for construction details, structure, egress, and mechanical systems.

The blending of the building begins with the roof layout, which extends the roof light of the neighboring building to connect with a central atrium of daylight in the dealership. In elevation, the traditional stacked windows are intersected with larger storefront glass to display the cars. The massing is lowered on the East Elevation towards the lower neighbor, and the created space is used for a roof garden.

A seasonal home for a grand prix driver, this house on a hillside in southern France meets the client’s desire for adventure and high style. It mimics the speed of his car with sleek materials and minimal KLZPNU YLÅLJ[PUN [OL^H`H[OPNO ZWLLKZKL[HPSZIS\YHUKVUS` [OLessential calculations of the driver, the road, and other cars remain.

The house is entered from the drive at the second level, and offers full views of the hilltop city of Eze out the two story windows in the living spaces. Each end of the long home, hugging the hillside holds a guesthouse. One large master suite for the owner, and one smaller townhouse for a guest. They are then connected by an external Z[Y\J[\YHS MYHTL^OPJO JYLH[LZ [OL ZOHYW HUNSLZ VM [OL ]PL^MHJPUNpatio.

This theatre was designed in my early years of school. Greater knowledge of building materials and strategies today might have inspired a different and more detailed approach, either lowering X\V[LZHUKLUNYH]PUN [OLT PUJVUJYL[L [VIL [V\JOLKHUK]PL^LKfrom eye level, or using adhesives on glass that could also protect from glare and excessive solar gain, but I still enjoy the idea that this building would advertise its own purpose through a beautiful and detailed facade ornamentation.

Fellow student Celeste Clayton and I proposed this stool design for our design / build warehouse at the University of Kansas.

We designed these to seat the user at the optimal height for desks built in a previous studio. After a charrette and competition, our

This year, the Kansas City Design Center is proposing a vision plan and design strategies for the Independence Avenue corridor and surrounding neighborhoods in Northeast Kansas City. We have an incredible opportunity to work with an inspiring group of stakeholders who live in the community and share with them our vision.

To prepare for our vision plan design, we have studied the site [OYV\NOIV[OMYLX\LU[]PZP[ZHUKKH[H^LJVSSLJ[LKMYVT[OL*LUZ\ZAmerican Community Survey, and the city of Kansas City. As part of this research, I worked with a group of classmates to build a large model of Independence Avenue. We later selected key areas of the ZP[L[VZ[\K`PUTVYLKL[HPSMVYZWLJPÄJKLZPNUWSHUZ

We have come up with several concepts to drive our design. One proposal I presented to the class was a “green loop” plan that uses SV^S`PUNHYLHZHYV\UK [OLZP[LHZUH[\YHS PUMYHZ[Y\J[\YHSaVULZ [OH[WYV]PKL̂ H[LYÄS[YH[PVUUH[\YHSWSHU[PUNZZ\Z[HPUHISLLK\JH[PVUIPRLHUK^HSRPUNWH[OZHUKZJLULY`VYI\MMLYZ[VYHPSYVHKYPNO[VM^H`Z

I have also researched Kansas City transportation planning, which SLKTL[VWYVWVZLHUPKLH[VSVJH[LHYLNPVUHSHUKSVJHST\S[PTVKHStransit hub on the East edge of the site, where multiple transportation systems overlap. I will be working hard this semester to improve HUK KL]LSVW [OLZL HUK V[OLY PKLHZ^P[OT` JSHZZTH[LZ6\Y ÄUHSproject includes a publication of our research and vision plan and a presentation and open house to stakeholders and guests.
