MY ROOM / MOJA SOBA

installation made during a five day residency at the festival «Par ici par l’art»,presented in the group exhibition of the festival

prostorska postavitev ustvarjena med pet-dnevno rezidenco znotraj festivala«Par ici par l’art», predstavljena znotraj skupinske razstave

Installation in the form of a room, composed of art pieces made beforehand - drawings, pictures and recording my voice (songs) as well as materials and objects found on site - linens and fabrics, carpet, an old baby stroller and a bottle of perfume. This was my first installation in the form of a room / living space (many more came after). It was placed inside the exhibition space and the

interior was to be observed through holes in the sheet, which served as a wall, separating it from the rest of the exhibition space, since I have situated the entrance to the room in another room, providing a path indicated by signs, making it a more special space, giving it some mystery. The basic structure was made by technicians, I than covered it with cardboard and fabrics. and eve-rything else. Ceiling height of my little room was set to approximately 170 cm, to get a strange

in-between size and give the visitor a feeling that something’s different, a bit off.

Instalacija v obliki soba, ustvarjena iz materialov in predmetov najdenih na mestu samem (tkanine, karton; preproge, otroški voziček, luč in steklenička parfuma); ter z naprej izdelanimi elementi (ki niso bili ustvarjeni med rezidenco) : risbe, slike in zvočni posnetek mojega glasu (popevke). To je bila prva instalacija v obliki sobe oz prostora. Vsebino sobe je lahko obiskovalec opazal iz razsta-vnega prostora; skozi kukalni luknji v ponjavi, vhod v «sobico» pa se je nahajal v drugem prostoru, do njega je vodila dolga označena pot. Osnovna struktura je bila narejena s tehniki, sama sem jo

prekrila z lepenko in oblekla s tkaninami, itd. Višina stropa je bilq približno 170 cm, kar je še doda-tno povdarilo nenavadnost oz, drugačnost prostora v primerjavi z okolico.

My first solo exhibition. The exhibition space already had the dark red walls, and some furniture, it was not a white cube. «Possible stories» included a wall installation made out of clippings of old magazines (my collection, 1970s and 80s), which I connected with lines I drew with white chalk, indicating sometimes logical, sometimes random connections. The exhibition also presented some color photographs as well as a series of painted collages. Two videos, «The Boy is Mine,» 2010,

and «Domestic trans», 2010, were playing in a loop on small tv screens. The installation as a whole was a form of living / working room, which included a performative dimension as well, since i was present the whole time during opening hours, and was there alone, working, editing connec-tions on the wall and adding new images everyday, as well as welcoming visitors, sometimes giving

them guided tours of the main wall and inventing stories with them.

Moja prva samostojna razstava. Razstavni prostor je že imel temno rdeče stene in nekaj pohištva.Na glavni steni sem ustvarila posebno stensko postavitev, montažo izrezkov iz starih revij (iz moje osebne zbirke, 1970, 80), povezanih med seboj z belo kredo. Postavitev je vključevala tudi pos-likane kolaže (iz istih revij). in barvne fotografije (lastne), kakor tudi dva videa, «To je moj fant»,

2010, in «Gospodinjski trans,», 2010, predvajana v zanki na tv-ekranih. 2010. Prostor je predsta-vljal nekaj med dnevno in delovno sobo, in je vseboval tudi performativno dimenzijo. Prisotna sem

bila namreč skozi celoten odpiralni čas, med katerim sem še naprej urejala povezave, jih spremin-jala, in dodajala vedno nove podobe. Obiskovalcem sem od časa do časa ponudila vodene oglede in

z njimi izumljala možne zgodbe.

akademije v Quimperju

A wall and windowsill installation in a hallway, a variation of the «Possible stories» installation, with a changed layout and a slightly modified choice of old magazine clipings, but the starting ma-terial was the same here as in the previous installation (Possible stories). This time, the wall instal-lation does not contain any lines that would connect the clipings. On the windowsills I presented sketches and notebooks as well as some decorative items such as a vase; a houseplant, a light, etc.., so that the corridor became more like a living domestic space. A tv-monitor with a loop of

the video «States», 2010, was also placed on one of the sills. it’s sound was echoed in the hallway.

Prostorska postavitev v hodniku, na stenah in okenskih policah, z nekoliko spremenjenim izborom izrezkov iz starih revij in drugačnimi povezavami med njimi. Začetni material je bil enak kot pri Možnih zgodbah, tokrat med elementi ni bilo narisanih črt. Na okenskih policah sem predstavila

skice; beležke, zvezke in skicirke ter nekaj dekorativnih predmetov, vazo, sobno rastlino; luč, itd., ambient se je s tem približal stanovanjskem prostoru. Del postavitve je bil tudi video «Stanja», ki se je predvajal v zanki na majhnem ekranu na eni od polic, in katerega zvok je vabil obiskovalca v

hodnik.

Installations presented as a part of my Higher National Diploma of Visual Art / Prostorske postavitve; predstavljene v okviru zagovora Visoke državne diplome likovnega izraza

spring / pomlad 2011, École supérieure d’Art de Quimper, Quimper, France / Francija

I created installations in form of rooms for my final Art school degree. I produced two versions of these ensembles, first for the « white diploma » a preliminary test, and the second for the final thesis. There were some variations, here i present both. The spaces consisted of :- The childhood room (divided into a child’s room (in a corner), a part representing the school class and an undetermined portion - the nursery or some kind of a play area )- Living room (plunged into darkness, with a big sofa, a sound piece, a projection of the video-film The Music box (2011) and some costumes, used in performances and videos, reminiscent of a thea-trical space or an eccentric apartment).- « The documentation and voyage bureau » (presenting a multitude of notes, books, sketches and other reference documents, texts from exhibitions, inspirations, as well as my photographs and drawings. The second version presents also the « Color Stories » wall, that preceded the wall in the next exhibition, My spaces of timelessness). In this room my « Chambres et Hors-chambres » (Rooms and out-Rooms) Diploma thesis in shape of an artist’s book was present for consultation.)

Za končno diplomo na akademiji sem predstavila več prostorskih postavitev v obliki sob. Vsak od prostorov obstaja v dveh različicah, prva je bila ustvarjena za «poskusno diplomo» oz «diplôme blanc»; druga pa za končni zagovor. Predstavljeni so bili naslednji prostori :- Soba otroštva (razdeljena na več delov; individualno otroško sobo, učilnico, in nedoločen igralni del) - Dnevna soba ( zatemnjen prostor, s kavčem in foteljem, kjer sta se predvajala zvočno delo in projekcija video-filma Glasbena skrinjica; vključevala je tudi postavitev s kostumi, uporabljenimi v videu in performansih, ki spominjajo na gledališki fundus ali ekscentrično stanovanje )- « Soba dokumentacije in potovanj » s številnimi skicami, zapiski, referencami; knjigami in drugimi dokumenti (iz razstav, predavanj, predstav, festivalov ...) , kakor tudi mojimi fotografijami in ris-bami, v drugi različici tudi s prvo steno « Color stories », postavitvijo serije barvnih fotografij in risb na steni; katere varianta se je nato pojavila tudi v Dnevni sobi Mojih sob brezčasja v Bežigrajski galeriji 2). V tem prostoru je bila na ogled tudi moja knjiga « Sobe in iz-sobe» ( teoreticni del di-plome v obliki knjige umetnika).

ŽMOJE SOBE BREZCASJA /MY SPACES OF TIMELESSNES

My first institutional gallery solo show.For this exhibition I disposed of a small production budget, which allowed me to complete a si-

gnificant transformation of the gallery space (i was provided with fabrics, wooden walls and po-lystyrene, etc. ). I installed five areas inside this 90 m2 blank space : entrance hall, lounge / living room, nursery, cinema room ( divided into lobby and projection room) My spaces of timelessness was concieved as a retrospective exhibition, including work produced since my birth and up till the end of my studies; as well as objects from my childhood and high school (paintings, painted

furniture, drawings...). It was a dense and very rich presentation, in a variety of media, with many details, offering the possibility of a shorter or longer visit (the time needed to see everything was

about 3 hours). The video program inside the cinema room alone lasted an hour... Some visitors have returned several times to continue their explorations. Still, a brief tour would also offer an interesting experience since the atmospheres of the different rooms offered rich immediate im-

pressions.

Moja druga samostojna razstava je neposredno sledila zagovoru končne diplome na akademiji. Malce boljši produkcijski pogoji so mi omogočili bistveno močnejšo preobrazbo galerijskega pros-tora kot v prejšnjih postavitvah. V 90 m2 sem ustvarila pet prostorov : predprostor, bivalni prostor / dnevno sobo, otroška sobo, kino sobo ( razdeljeno na predprostor in projekcijsko dvorano). «Moje

sobe brezčasja» so bile retrospektivno naravnane, vključevale so moje prve otroške risbe kakor tudi slike in poslikano pohištvo, ustvarjene v času srednje šole, in vse do del iz časa študija; ter

razne stare osebne predmete iz teh treh obdobij.Postavitev je bila izredno gosta in bogata in je vključevala številne medije, v katerih ustvarjam.

Obiskovalcu sem nudila možnost daljšega obiska in raziskovanja mnogih detajlov (za ogled vsega je bilo potrebno približno 3 ure). Sam video program v kino-sobi je trajal 60 min. Nekateri obisko-valci so se večkrat vrnili na ponovno raziskovanje. Vendar pa je tudi kratek ogled nudil obiskovalcu

zanimivo izkušnjo, saj so mu vzdušja različnih prostorov pustila takojšnje čutne vtise.

INTERMEZZO (3min)

Kdo je Judy ali kdo sem jaz?

S sinhronizacijo si prisvojim Judyino telo, najini identiteti se pomešata. Le moj glas ostane obema, njen izgled ponavljam, prežeta z njeno in neštetimi drugimi podobami žensk, ki so jih ustvarili mediji. Obenem mi njena sladkoba ugaja in me navdaja z grozo. Vem, da sva si podobni, ustvarili so naju taki. Želim si pokazati grotesknost tega plesa v katerem tudi jaz uživam. Narcisističnem užitek je začaran krog, iz katerega se poskušam izviti ali se ga vsaj zavedati preko igre.

Sinhronizacija Judy / Dubbing Judy / Doublage 2010, 7min32

Valovi podzavesti prinašajo spomine. Valovi las, zabrisan obraz v upočasnjenem kriku, rdeče ustnice v neslišnem dialogu. Gibanje med plimo in oseko je kot ples ki se nikoli ne konča. Valovi zvokov izpljunejo golo telo. Vino se razlije po njenem trupu kot kri. Postopno, boleče, ponavljajoče se rojstvo Venere.

Del "Performansev v hodniku". Georges Bataille, sveto in umazano. Igre moči, ženska kot stroj in kot gospodarica, v nadvladi in hkrati odvisna. Utapljajoča se v praznini izganja duhove ogledala. Groza in magnetna privlačnost brezna, srkajoče črne luknje, rešeta v plesu ženske punčke.

Izginjanje / Disparition / Disappearing 2009, 5min53

V nekoč bujnem Kamerunu dandanes skorajda ni več najti pragozda. Intenzivna deforestacija je prinesla državi sušo ter odvzela dom avtohtonim prebivalcem teh gozdov, pigmejcem Baka. Zanje izginjanje pragozda ne pomeni le konec dosedanjega načina življenja, temveč prav konec sveta. Verjamejo namreč, da duše njihovih prednikov domujejo v starodavnih drevesih, in bodo zaradi uničenja za vedno izgubljene. Pragozd je po mnogih verovanjih dom duhov in narave. Tudi zame je pragozd neke vrste duhovni dom, katerega izgin-janje prinaša smrt na mnogih ravneh.

Video se dotika izginjanja v toku časa, telo postane le podoba, iluzija. Groza in lepota se mešata v upočasnjenem gibu. Želja povrniti se v toku časa, stopiti se v eno z zadnjimi koščki zelenega. Neizogibnost izginjanja. Belo telo seva sredi pepelnatih tonov gozda, bled odtenek bujno zelenega, sanjanega daleč od buldožerjev in žag. Na koncu človek izgine, ostane le zamrznjena podoba gozda.

Obrat. Skrivnostna pesem zamolklo od-meva v oranžni sobi. Senca se sprehodi, ogledalo blešči. Rumen kot, rjavkaste zavese in umazan strop. Noge miz in stolov, talna pokrajina na glavi. Aličine sobe.

Ribica iz papirja se nežno ziblje med sencami in svetlobo. Pritrjena je na nenavadno svetilko. Za njo preži senca. Luč se prižge in ugasne, kamera se počasi obrača ...

Claire v temi / Claire in the dark / Claire dans le noir 2009, 2 min

Claire, mala in gola sredi temnega stanovanja. Beg pred nevidno nevarnostjo se v ritmu srčnega utripa spreminja v erotično grozljivi trans, ples noči.Pred kom ali čim se skriva, ali sama kliče in se igra, je to le nori sen osamljene preganjavice?

Moški postane lutka. Sladkobnost ima priokus groze.

Kako spremeniti drugega, tako da ustreza mojim predstavam : nevrotičen program, vezan na določeno obliko zaljubljenosti. Ljubezenska zveza in partner morata ustrezati vnaprej us-tvarjeni idealizirani podobi, ki si jo ženska ustvari v otroštvu in mladosti. Romantični filmi, televizijske nadaljevanke in mediji pa to podobo ljubezni navdihujejo in utrjujejo. Romantika je kot nevarna nalezljiva bolezen. Humor je vsaj trenuten protistrup.

PROGRAMKako ženska postane podoba in prikazen. Rosa in Medusa, dve plati iste osebe? Iskanje svojega obstoja v ogledalu, izgu-bljanje v praznih načičkanih sobah. Rosa prepeva in Medusa kriči. Za dežjem posije sonce in za soncem že preži nevihta.

You keep coming back like a song, day and night. Preteklost se vrača, hiša je polna spomi-nov, predmetov, fotografij. Smile, when your heart is aching, whenever you feel afraid, just whistle a happy song.

Glasbena skrinjica je psihološko-glasbena grozljiva komedija, ki se poigrava s cam-pom, holivudom in video artom.

This was an installation designed and inspired by the hallway of Miklova hiša, (with its tiled floor, the soft greys and whites, the light coming from it’s end), as well as the sound piece which is the main feature of the installation, «Alice’s landscape n°1», 2011. In this place of passage, the sound could reach the largest number of visitors (those who would perhaps not stop here, passing on their way to the second floor where a public library is situated). I used some of my old furniture

and mirrors, all covered with white sheets, symbolizing the passage, the abandoned house, the act of relocating homes, and the charicatural ghost costume. The sound came from beneath the fur-niture ( loud-speakers were placed there, hidden by the sheets) and a poetic text about the work welcomed the visitors, copies of which were lying on the small table. This was the first installation

to be mounted without my actual presence, based on my sketches and indications.

Postavitev Aličina pokrajina št. 1 je bila ustvarjena prav posebej za hodnik Miklove hiše. Ta pros-tor me je pritegnil s svojimi sivimi in belimi toni, vzorcem ploščic in svetlobo, njegov ambient se

je podal svetu iz zvočnega dela, po katerem sem postavitev tudi poimenovala. Hodnik sem izbrala tudi zaradi prehodnega položaja, želela sem, da zvok doseže čimvečje število poslušalcev in morda pritegne tudi obiskovalce; ki se ne bi podali v galerijo (zvok je prisoten na poti v drugo nadstropje;

kjer se nahaja javna knjižnica). Ponovno sem uporabila pohištvo in ogledala; ki so bila prisotna v prejšnjih postavitvah, tokrat pa sem jih prekrila z belimi rjuhami, ki simbolizirajo prehod, seli-tev, asociirajo na zapuščeno hišo in njene otroške duhove, ogrnjene v rjuhe. Zvok je prispeval k

fantomatičnemu značaju, prihajal je izpod pohištva (zvočniki in predvajalnik so bili skriti za belimi rjuhami), na mizici pa je obiskovalce zopet čakal moj poetično-informativni nagovor. To je bila

prva instalacija, postavljena brez moje prisotnosti, na podlagi skic in navodil.

The Party comprises a video, an installation in form of a room, and a series of live performances. The video is of a group of masked individuals having some sort of meeting in a bourgeois apartment in Paris. Through their mute and clumsy interactions and interconnections I explore the notions of society and living together. The world of the video transits into the space of projection where it is freely reinterpreted in the medium of painting and in space. The Party allows the visitor to make him- or herself comfortable while watching the video in an environment reminiscent of a theater (a foyer, stage design), a cinema and a living room with its carpeted floor, cushions, velvet drapes… A part of the dispositif is also my audio commentary, a phantom companion to the viewer. The video and the installation were accompanied by impromptu appearances and playful performances of the masked protagonists (Alenka Herman, Nataša Živkovič, Pila Rusjan, Janez Pavlovčič, Nina Trebec, Katja Likar, Sara Koncilja, Vid Avdič Batista, and myself, the face masks were created in collabo-ration with Véronique Lorne), expanding the space of representation of the video and transgressing the media boundaries.

Zabava zajema video in istoimensko prostorsko postavitev. Video prikazuje skupino maskiranih oseb v buržujskem pariškem stanovanju, v kateri imajo neke vrste srečanje. Preko njihovih nemih, nerod-nih interakcij in spletov njihovih vezi v njem raziskujem pojem družbe in sobivanja. Svet iz videa prehaja v prostor projekcije, kjer je prosto reinterpretiran v slikarski in prostorski medij. Zabava nudi obiskovalcu udoben počitek ob ogledu, v okolju, ki se giblje med gledališkim (sprejemni prostori in odrska scenografija), kinom in dnevno sobo, s tapiciranimi tlemi, blazinami, žametnimi za-vesami... Del dispozitiva je tudi moj zvočni komentar, neke vrste fantomski spremljevalec izgublje-nega gledalca. Video in prostorsko postavitev so spremljale tudi impromptu pojave in igrivi perfor-mansi maskiranih karakterjev (Alenka Herman, Nataša Živkovič, Pila Rusjan, Janez Pavlovčič, Nina Trebec, Katja Likar, Sara Koncilja, Vid Avdič Batista in jaz, obrazne maske pa so bile ustvarjene v sodelovanju z Véronique Lorne), ki so širili reprezentativni prostor videa in prestopali me(di)je.

A series of 15 videos, ranging in duration from 8 min to one hour.I was committed at that time to an almost daily practice of self-portrait, and I decided to expand the devices used, so I filmed myself as I was drawing / painting my autoportraits. It’s a kind of a “Droste effect” - I show the filmed self-portrait and the act of making one on paper, without ever showing the result (the image I have drawn or painted). These portraits capture the changing face of everyday, the different atmospheres inside a small living space, suggesting a lot more than they actually reveal.

Serija 15 videov različnih dolžin (od 8min do ene ure).Projekt, ki sem ga ustvarila v obdobju vsakodneve prakse risanega avtoporteta. Odločila sem se razširiti pripomočke in se tako posnela s kamero med risanjem in slikanjem. Nastala je neka podoba v podobi, prikažem namrec video avtoportret in proces ustvarjanja risanega, nikoli pa ne pokažem rezultata na papirju. Ti video portreti ujamejo spreminjajoče-se obraze vsakdana, različne atmosfere znotraj majhnega bivalnega prostora, in nakažejo mnogo več kot pokažejo.

A girl in a dark interior. Her eyes are closed. In the background, a prose poem is narrated by the voice of the sculp-ted heads. The images of these enigmatic faces on the wall of an old church, Human, dog, human and animal skulls. Črngrob. Black grave. (This church was built after a massacre of many French, which took place in this village during the Crusades.) The images are sometimes interspersed with black. Space for text, voice-overs, the pure listening.A black dog plays on green grass. Daisies sparkle in the garden. The dog jumps up and bites, his big teeth open in a closeup, ready to attack, sending us back to his origins of wolf. The girl changes colors.

Dekle v temnem interjerju, zaprtih oči. Obrazi iz reliefa na cerkvi pripovedujejo, v ozadju je njihova pesem v prozi. Človek, pes, človeške in živalske lobanje. Črngrob. (to cerkev so zgradili po poboju med križarskimi vojnami). Podobe so ponekod prekinjene s temo, prostor tekstu; glasu; namenjen poslušanju.Črn pes se igra na zeleni travi. Marjetice se svetijo na vrtu. Pes skoči in razpre gobec; pripravljen za ugriz. Upočasnjen posnetek njegovih velikih zob, ki se sklenejo, nas ponese nazaj do njegovih volčjih izvorov. Dekle menja barve.

An old man is standing behind the window. His hair white. The snowy garden is reflected in the glass. The two images overlap.He seems far from the world, lost in his memories. He talks, but we do not hear him. he is between two worlds. The music comes and goes, the silence is cold; white and dense like a snowy sky The empty white Sunday, soothing or oppressive? Snowflakes in front of a black door, like little stars dying. The tender and sad look of the old woman staring at the camera. She blinks her eyes in the rhytm of the music. A green landscape. And again, the snow.Video produced for an autobiography course, I filmed my grandparents. This video is without words, abstract and poetic.

Starec belih las stoji za oknom, zasnežen vrt se odseva na šipi. Podobi se prekrivata. Daleč se zdi od sveta, izgubljen v spominih. Govori, a ga ne slišimo, med dvema svetovoma je. Glasba pride in gre, presekana z belo, gosto tišino, kot snežno nebo. Prazna bela nedelja, pomirjujoča ali utesnjujoča? Snežinke pred črnimi vrati, kot umirajoče zvezdice. Žalosten in nežen pogled starke, ki odsotno strmi v kamero. Mežika v ritmu glasbe, Zelena pokrajina, in zopet, sneg.Video narejen za predmet avtobiografija, snemala sem svoje stare starše. Nedelja je brez besed.

A small paper fish, a child’s creation, sways gently between shadows and light. We discover that it is suspended from a large and strange luster. It casts a dark and imposing shadow. The light goes on and off, the camera starts to turn ...

Kot majhno okence sredi črnega ekrana. Glava dekleta, oddaljena. Telo po kosih, eden za drugim opazovano. Še en mali obrazek se nalepi na prvega, kriči brez zvoka. Sladki ženski glasek poje delčke ljubezenskih pesmi, neprestano prekinjen in boleče ponovljen.

Like a small window opening in the middle of a black screen. A small head of a girl, far away, looking at you. Body, sliced in parts, examined one by one. A second little face doubles the first, screaming, tearing it appart, but without sound. A sweet female voice singing parts of love songs, interrupted and repeated painfully. Intoxicated love.

Waves of subconscious bringing memories. Waves of hair, smudged face in a slow cry, red lips in inaudi-ble dialogue. Movement between high and low tide is a dance that never ends. Waves of sound spit out the naked body. Wine is poured over it like blood. A gradual, painful, repetitive birth of Venus.

Valovi podzavesti prinašajo spomine. Valovi las, zabrisan obraz v upočasnjenem kriku, rdeče ustnice v neslišnem dialogu. Gibanje med plimo in oseko je kot ples ki se nikoli ne konča. Valovi zvokov izpljunejo golo telo. Vino se razlije po njenem trupu kot kri. Postopno, boleče, ponavljajoče se rojstvo Venere.

«Disappearing / Izginjanje», 2009, video, 5min53

In Cameroon, the primary forest has almost disappeared due to intense exploitation, and with it, according to Baka indigenous inhabitants, the souls of ancestors and other spirits of the forest. This video was made as part of a workshop on the theme Art and Environment in Douala, Cameroon, in 2009.

A woman, her body covered in white mud, slowly disappears into the forest. Her white skin radiates a strange light. At times she seems to float. Is it a spirit of the forest, a nymph of the woods? At the edge of the forest, she blends into the foliage. Nature freezes, as a pure appearance.This video is the only trace of my performance in this place.

V nekoč bujnem Kamerunu dandanes skorajda ni več najti pragozda zaradi intenzivne deforesta-cije. Avtohtoni prebivalci teh gozdov, pigmejci Baka verjamejo, da duše njihovih prednikov domu-jejo v starodavnih drevesih, in so zaradi uničenja za vedno izgubljene. Izginjanje sem ustvarila med kratko rezidence na temo Umetnost in okolje, v Douali, v Kamerunu, leta 2009.

Gola ženska, prekrita z belo glino, počasi izginja v gozd. Njena bela koža izžareva čudno luč. Na trenutke se je zdi, kot da rahlo lebdi nad tlemi. Je duh gozda, nimfa? Ob robu gozda se zlije z lis-tjem v eno. Narava zamrzne, kot čisti privid.

Ta video je edina sled mojega performansa na tem kraju.

A face in the mirror. A woman or a man? Black hair, as Lulu of Pabst,Is she the Snow White or the stepmother?. A forest path, and on the couch, death or sleep? It is late at night. Someone is hiding behind the door at the end of the hallway. From a distance, the white face. The way back is like a slow dance. Two women with the same black hair, which one is the right one?A dreamlike video of identity, male and female, of duality and the doubles who are moving between the two poles. Inside and outside, between the appartment and the forest, death and dream.

Obraz v ogledalu. Moški ali ženska? Črni lasje, kakor Pabstova Lulu,Sneguljčica ali mačeha?. Gozdna pot, in na kavču, smrt ali sen? Pozno je. Nekdo se skriva za vrati na koncu hodnika. Od daleč, bel obraz. Pot nazaj, kot počasen ples. Dvoje žensk z istimi črnimi lasmi, katera je prava?Sanjska pripoved o identiteti; Moškega ali ženske, dvojnosti in dvojnikov, ki se gibljejo med dvema poloma. Notranje in zunanje, stanovanje in gozd, sanje in smrt.

Ponavljanje istih kretenj, ki se spremenijo v nekaj drugega, v jezik brez smisla, znak ki se oddalji od svojega prvotnega pomena, postane abstrakten ples. Transvestit v kuhinjskem transu.Koščki sladkih popevk, montaža njihovih začetkov. Sladkobna glasbena akumulacija je v kontrastu z androginim telesom, ujetim v ponavljanje vedno istih gest. Video med drugim predstavlja ujetost ženske v idealizirani vlogi gospodinje. Ta pa je le začetek, izhodišče za makabrni ples, ki nelagodje meša z grotesknim. Preko kombinacije zvoka in slike popelje gledalca naprej in drugam od glavne tematike, zvok se spremeni v eksperimentalen komad. občutek nelagodja se porodi nekje vmes, med humorjem in ujetostjo, med kičem in abstrakcijo.

Repetition of the same gestures that change into something else, into a language without meaning, a sign departing from its original meaning, becoming an abstract dance. Transvestite in the kitchen trance. Slices of sweet songs, an assemblage of their beginnings. The cheezy music is in contrast with the androgynous body, caught in the repetition of the same gestures. Video is telling, amongst other things, of a woman trapped in an idealized role of the housewife. This is only a beginning, a starting point for a dance macabre; the discomfort mixing with the grotesque. Through a combina-tion of audio and video it takes the viewer off the main theme, the soundtrack is an experimental piece, the feeling of discomfort arises somewhere between humor and captivity, between kitsch and abstraction.

Judy or me?By means of synchronization I appropriate Judy’s body, our identities mix. Only my voice remains for both of our images, but it followes her lips, her game. We are similar, I am imbued with her and count-less other images of women, created by the media. Her sweetness pleases me and fills me with horror.I want to show the grotesqueness of the dance which I also enjoy. Judy is a part of me, I carry my own Judy inside, she takes over me from time to time. We share a certain narcissistic delight, a vicious circle from which I am trying to break free, or at least become aware of it through play. I’ll become louder and stronger than her, she who became an image.

Judy ali jaz?S sinhronizacijo si prisvojim Judyino telo, najini identiteti se mešata. Le moj glas ostane obema, vendar sledi njenim ustnicam, njeni igri. Podobni sva si, prežeta sem z njeno in neštetimi drugimi podobami žensk, ki so jih ustvarili mediji. Obenem mi njena sladkoba ugaja in me navdaja z grozo. Želim si pokazati grotesknost tega plesa v katerem tudi jaz uživam. Judy je del mene, svojo lastno Judy nosim s seboj in od časa do časa me prevzame. Druži naju tudi nek narcisistični užitek, začaran krog, iz katerega se poskušam izviti ali se ga vsaj zavedati preko igre, ter jo preglasiti, njo ki je le še podoba.

A series of psychological / existential states, expressed or symbolized through the movement and its transforma-tion in the process of editing. The filmed body partly emancipates itself through the manipulation of it’s natural movement, entering the realm of the imaginary. The choreography, created somewhere between performance and digital post-production.

Niz psihičnih / eksistencialnih stanj, izraženih oz simboliziranih preko giba in njegove preobrazbe v procesu montaže. Posneto telo se preko manipulacij giba delno osamosvoji, preide v sfero imaginarne podobe. Koreografija, nastala nekje med performansom in digitalno obdelavo, podoba ki prehaja med mediji in se ob tem transformira, preko tega procesa se delno osamosvoji od prvotne realnosti.

She looks at herself, blows a kiss, looks at the viewer, in an eternal loop. The noise of her movement resembles butterfly wings. She is forever caught in the loop of her loneliness and fascination. /Gleda se, usta našobi v poljub, pogleda proti gledalcu, v večnem krogu. Šum njenega giba spominja

na metuljeva krila. Zdi se za večno ujeta v zanko svoje osamljenosti in fascinacije.

Alternation of laughter, sound of slaping and screams. The expression of joy turns into a sadistic madness. Laughter is repeated, like the smile, which seems stuck in infinity, becoming the ultimate horror. / Menjavanje smeha, klofut in krikov. Izraz veselja se nagiba v sadistično norost. Smeh se ponavlja, kot zataknjen nasmeh, v neskončnost. Nasmeh tako postane temeljna groza.

Another one of the «performances in the hallway». Georges Bataille, the sacred and the dirty. A power game, the woman as a machine and as a mistress, in the supremacy and dependent at the same time. Drowning in the void she exorcises the ghosts of the mirror. The horror and ma-gnetic attraction of the abyss, the soaking black hole, rattles in the dance of the lwoman-doll.

Še en od «Performansov v hodniku». Georges Bataille, sveto in umazano. Igre moči, ženska kot stroj in kot gospodarica, v nadvladi in hkrati odvisna. Utapljajoča se v praznini izganja duhove ogledala. Groza in magnetna privlačnost brezna, srkajoče črne luknje, rešeta v plesu ženske punčke.

Kako ženska postane podoba in prikazen. Rosa in Medusa, dve plati iste osebe? Iskanje svojega obstoja v ogledalu, izgubljanje v praznih načičkanih sobah. Rosa prepeva in Medusa kriči. Za dežjem posije sonce in za soncem že preži nevihta.You keep coming back like a song, day and night, preteklost se vrača, hiša je polna spominov, predmetov, fotografij. Smile, when your heart is aching, whenever you feel afraid, just whistle a happy song.

How does a woman become an image and a ghost? Rosa and Medusa seem to be the only ones living in this kitchy house. Are they real characters or are they actually the two sides of the same person, lost in a dream? Search their existence in the mirror, losing yourself in empty rooms full of objects. Rosa sings and Medusa screams. After the rain the sun shines and behind the sun the storm is already lurking. You keep coming back like a song, Day and night, the past is returning in the house full of memories. Smile, When your heart is aching, whenever you feel afraid, just whistle a happy song.

Obrat. Skrivnostna pesem zamolklo odmeva v oranžni sobi. Senca se sprehodi, ogledalo blešči. Rumen kot, rjavkaste zavese in umazan strop. Noge miz in stolov, talna pokra-jina na glavi. Aličine sobe.

Turn. A mysterious song echoes in the orange room. The shadow takes a walk, the mirror is shining. A yellow corner, beige curtains and a dirty ceiling. The legs of tables and chairs, the floor region is turned upside down. Alice’s rooms.

A relaxing video for intermezzo. A lovely dance in the room in harmonious tones on a background of classical music. The movements are almost graceful and than become laughable while still poetic and ecstatic. Ladies and gentlemen, relax during this musi-cal and dancing break.

Sprostitveni video za intermezzo. Ples v sobi v harmoničnih tonih; z ozadjem klasične glasbe. Skoraj ljubko gibanje postane smešno; pa vendarle tudi poetično in ekstatično. Spoštovane gledalke in gledalci; sprostite se ob plesnem in glasbenem odmoru.

A group of masked individuals is having some sort of meeting in a bourgeois apartment in Paris. Through their mute and clumsy interactions and interconnections I explore the notions of society and living together. The Party is the first finished film from the series of videos with Masks, and also the longest. It was part of the Trienale of contemporary art in Slovenia in 2013, expanding into installation and live performances.

Skupina maskiranih oseb v buržujskem pariškem stanovanju, kjer imajo neke vrste srečanje. Preko njihovih nemih, nerodnih interakcij in spletov njihovih vezi v njem raziskujem pojem družbe in so-bivanja. Zabava je prvi zaključeni film iz serije videov z maskami, in tudi najdaljši. Bila je del Trienala sodobne umetnosti v Sloveniji 2013, kjer sem jo razširila še v prostorsko postavitev in serijo živih performansov.
