How do guest know that this is a Korean restaurant?Education was a key design compent. By approaching the architectural elements through known Korean structures this space is able to convey what Korea is. The color scheme is literal. The colors are directly from the Korean flag; red, blue, black, and white. The shape of the flag contains presents itself through out the restaurant. The traditional Korean architecture is transformed into a modern shape by shaping the tea bar.

Inspired by the architectural attributes of Penone's work and the effects of the contrasting elements on the Ponte Vecchio, Cafe Penone spawns a luxurious and warm atmosphere. Direct inspiration from Penone is actualized through the branch installation in the ceiling along with the tree sculpture. The inspiration drawn from the Ponte Vechhio is reflected in the contrast of hard and soft, industrial and old. On the Ponte Vecchio the striking gold glitters against the old wood and wrought iron. Within the cafe, bare light bulbs shine against the concrete flooring and gold foiled leather tiled wall.
