In a single tree, we find a layered structure in which the earth!s crust, the surface of
the ground, the tree, and all of the plants and animals that live in it are tangled
together. By imagining this tree on the fractal terrain of Tokyo!s linked valleys, we
devise urbanscale architecture that will become tangled up with the environment
there.
Japan Tree?
Tangling
Future Lab “Tangling”
It becomes visible in the contour tracing the topography of Tokyo.
Difine a tree-like terrain unit formed by the valleys and ridges as "Japan Tree" .

Propose a new city which inherit the terrain characteristics as "JAPAN TREE" at the center of Japan.
The terrain form of the Japan tree is a gentle valley.
The Building in a organic form supplies Japan tree with energy of wind power.
And it indicates a new large building unit as branch of the Japan tree.

Topological Indicator
What happens when the spaces separated by
functions is released?
Is it possible to change a defensive architecture
which has emphasized boundary into a acceptant
arcitecture which has loose boundary?
"Topological City" attempt to express a topological
space whose function changes continuously and
seamless.
Topological Spaces
Connect those who were separated each
grid by flow line. Each function is networked
in three dimensions, and the new relation-
ships will be appeared because many
functions interfere with each other.
Flow Line
Buildings had separated the region clearly by
boundaries and everything was surrounded by a
wall until 20th century. In contrast to that, there is
no clear boundary in the topological city. People
extend their individual regions.
Architecture grows by releasing or softening a
boundary.
Boundary
The individual regions is overlapped and shared
where the flow line folded. The buildings might
reduce their floor space if the concept of sharing
become popular. Buildings will become a little
smaller by a gathering and a tangling.
Sharing
Suppose that the traffic in Japan Tree is the personal
wheel mobility.
It is not the usual straight movement but the curved
seemless movement. They keep moving continuously
cuddling to a gentle slope. This movement in the form
of spirograph would enrich various experiences.

The new center, which will connect with the current touristic area, will create a new node in Istanbul.
It aims to revitalize the nearby surroundings by creating further employment and consumption.

Adopting a water purification system into the coast area. Through
pumping up the rainwater on these green buildings, it can clean the
water without energy, and it can create bio-diversity in the city.
The site is in Istanbul, new city.
the place is an end of the bridge in between
the old city which include Blue Mosque and Ayasofya, and is more touristic
and the new city which has the residential area at in the north part.

Now, the construction of Istanbul is very simple-tied,
and the city grows up linearly along the highway and
the tram line.
The way of growing like that causes sprawl and
the gap between a city area and an abandoned
area.
Create a high-density island which is connected to surroundings
by VISIBLE and INVISIBLE connection.
This “Island” contains several city functions such like a consump-
tion, manifacture, dwellings and commerce.

At first, I separated the two volumes to make a border between tourism
and habitation.Using the triangle wall with plural direction, I try to keep
an expanse and to create the place like forest at the same
time,Secondly, at the floor of the hotel, the direction of the openings
avoid the residences.Thirdly, I put the restaurant floor on the top, and
made it transparent by using truss structure to enjoy panoramic view.
This building is composed by those 3 factors.

- Keep the panoramic view by removing the walls
- Create a horizontal expanse by truss structure
- Harmonize with surroundings.
- Building's hight is simmilar to the next building
- A hall built in wellhole style
- Creation of sequence and a horizontal expanse
by pilling up the transparent volume and massive
volume alternately
- Surface Material ; Alminium
- There are many triangle window on the wall of each

They are the opening and also decorate the building
- Detaching touristc commercial area and residential

The material varies with the function. I chose "fragments of Turkish earthenware" and "Turkish carpet" for the floor.
The earthenware and the carpet industry prospers in Turkey.
we can recycle the vernacular product and make beautiful pattern by using fragments on the floor.

By floating furnitures, I thought that a new space will be appeared around it.
The furnitures become free from floor.
Sometimes it will be used as a slab, a small roof or a partition between each spaces.
The floor will become larger, and people will come together there.
A new kind of small space will enrich our lives.

Sometimes, we humans won!t see the things which is visible.
I propose to put the reality of a trivial nature into the architecture. They live with a big nature that
gained only by the architecture.
It transforms the “Invisible” nature into the phenomenon, so-called “House of Function” is .
The boundary of space changes by a wall which goes higher and a wall which goes lower.
At the entrance, It seems that two couples go into each rooms, but actually, its spatial structure changes
inside the walls. A woman will meet another woman, and a man will meet another man in the house.

EXIST
This is a housing project at the arcade of Sendai city.
Enhance the circulation of the people by making use of the arcade's potential.
The concrete proposal is following;
1.Provide a deck as "Garden" of the inhabitants.
New use systems of the builong and the arcade space will appear from that.
2.Renovate existing small buildings and create new housing space.
