Positive/NegativeDesign
In order to
understand negative
and positive
spaces, I designed
a mold in which
to cast plaster.
Bi-directional
curves became the
overlying design of
this project.
Sculpture
As an initial study of the human anatomy,
I looked at the structure of the skull, first
analyzing it with metal wires, and then
finalized with a plaster cast carving

Fröbel Chess SetI designed a chess set with the concept of adaptability and infinite
combinations in mind. In order to preserve structural integrity, I
revolved around the dovetail joint as the connection points.
Design Studio
Starting with a diagram of Star Wars
characters and their respective origins,
I used the triangle in the lower left as
a datum to orient my grid, and worked
intensively with the curve to create my
form.
Process
I began to finalize ideas and forms,
following the concept of overlapping
planes. I kept the curvilinear element as
compositional balance
Abroad
Dancers typically take advantage of
different levels to dramatically improve
their dynamism in not just the horizontal
plane, but also the vertical plane. This
concept of motion and height fostered
inspiration to begin designing housing for
an aspiring dancer.

Technical Skills
During my high school career, I had
enrolled in classes to learn several
technical skills related to architecture,
including drafting and some modeling.
These are several drawings I produced
back then.

Maho Bay Eco-Resort on St. John’s Island
required a new design for their staff and guest
housing as well as a standardized design for
their add-on living spaces. In collaborating with
two other interns, and basing the form on a
conch shell, we came up with this design.
Staff Tent
Accumulating ideas collected through
trips around the island and efficient
designs, we maximized space efficiency,
cost and flexibility for residing guests.
Concordia guest tents
Guest Tent
The large swinging doors allowed for
customers to change the space as they
saw fit; if they preferred a balcony, the
doors could be “closed,” and if they
wanted more interior space, they could
“open” the doors.
Using similar language as the guest tent,
we came up with this design for the
attachable bedroom pod.
