5 X 5 m cube with a mezzanine

The ground floor uses the 4 corners for the entrance, kitchen, sit-out and study. The mezzanine created contains the bedroom and bathroom.Special features include a stacked-chair staircase and an interior sloping roof.

Theme

These cocoon like structures were created for the privacy of each family dinning in the restaurant.

The structures are made out of cane & the false ceiling was inspired from the sails boats of Kerela

Restaurant

The flooring is brass inlaid into yellow jaisalmer stone. The motifs are tradition-ally keralite. Brass clad staircase. Trees are planted inside the restaurant for a feel of Kerala's natural beauty.

The wall elevation shown below is made out of two layers. The back is a sheet of brass. Above is a lazer-cut m.d.f ‘jali’ screen. Sandwiched between them are tube lights, making it a bold multipurpose feature wall.

Bar area used the concept of shadow puppetry. This feature wall uses cutouts and is backlight. Brass

is used for window frames.

Panel: egg trays had punctured holes in to allow light . bubble wrap was stretched around the bamboo frame to achieve audio privacy.

False ceiling of a residential flat.Worked out the air conditioning layout, the lighting strategy, the fan placement and switchboard layout for four bedrooms and bathrooms.

Top:the false ceiling shapes were inspired by the shapes found in river ripples.

Left centre: a simulation of upside down planters , live plants enclosed in a transparent e.t.f.t hollow volume.
