The project consists in revitalizing a IXX century house, colonial style in Botafogo neighbohood, where it would serve as the area for the program “KombiDesign” created by the Designers Manuela Abtibol and Cecília Papi. KombiDesign is a program of a Kombi vehicle that drives around the city of Rio de Janeiro with a cointainer attached exposing, selling and promoting the work and materials of young Stylists and Design students. The project of revitalization of the house would be used as the physical space for this program and for parking this men-tioned Kombi vehicle.; It would really be a hybrid space that would accommodate various events such as Expositions, Fashion Shows, Par-ties, Selling (like a temporary store), Space for Production (sewing area and manufacturing); but always keeping the concept of urban itinerant KombiDesign. The project itself would make reconsideration about the influence of the urban itinerancy and contextualizing it in Botafogo. It would be a place where it would unite several different schools integrating them for the total reach of the public. The KombiSpace project passes the idea of the contemporaneous styles that can live inside a building of the past century, with a strong architectural value; making a perfect interaction and a new relationship of the past with the modern. Even being the house a not too generous space, it has a from floor to ceiling highet very high, that allow us to make an intervention using different distributions of levels, bringing integration to the space and creating a perfect circuit. This type of intervention would bring a good interaction of the program: the prodution area, the selling area, bars, clients etc.. everything open and integrated; and this union would ex-tend to the outside corner of the house, where other containers would make a different outside space and the KombiDesign would also extend the same concept to the streets of the different neighborhoods where the KOMBI would pass

The project would be at first a master plan for a block in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The master plan was made by a group, and in another part of the work we separeted and made our own design for each buildings. We took as reference the project for the competition “New neighborhood”, by Christian de Portzamparc. The new block would integrate with the logic of randomness, irregularity and dyna-mism of volumetric of the city skyline. The entire block /court would not be static in time; it would allow the users to make developments and changes which is natural to urban history.
The projected building would stand at the area of two blocks of the master plan. One block with a building on stilts and the other one lower; forming therefore a corner. The mentioned project would seek to follow the form of the building itself, which would be full of cutouts and openings that would allow a greater relationship to the street and urban life. So the plan would follow the angle of the street and the units would increase gradually making the building a living space for different groups of people. It would start with a minimum unit of 20m ², then the unit of the corner with the same loft style but with more space and following to a final 2 rooms and a 3 / 4. All with porches from one side to the other, making up the same front all over the building.
On the block on stilts would be configured duplex units. Between the structural walls and the two central pillars, units with two floors could have from 0 to 4 rooms, depending on the disposition of the mezza-nine openings. The other block would be done in a way in which the hybridity of plant configuration would bring the interaction between different groups of people.

Urban Services Kiosk for public park users
8th architecture biannual, são paulo, 2009with amanda landeiro, camila legey and mariana villas-bôasoriented by carla juaçabahonorable mention
Supporting the idea that sustainability is directly connected to environmentally less aggressive solutions, our group searched within the nature a cycle to be reinterpreted by the object of the project – the kiosk. It is an idea that brings out the concept of unity where all systems communicate aiming at a single performance.
The rainwater collection, storage, use and reutilization of the water are carried out in a circular manner, representing a cycle to be captured and explored by the visitor.
The ease structural erection with arcs up to 3 meters long, linked to the lightness of the galvanized steel and the vegetation screens with several climbing plant species, offer a climatic comfort protection intending the creation of an intermediate situation between interior and exterior.
The necessary electric power required for the kiosk operation is generated by north oriented photovoltaic solar panels with capacity up to 2,600 kWh.
The contact with water in the kiosk is located at the center of the circumference, where the new/used treated water can be fed by a tap valve and stored with the rainwater collected from the roof, restarting the reutilization cycle.
The proposed setting is more comprehensive than the sum of its individual systems and the result is a sustainable proposal that can be adapted everywhere, always taking the visitor in contact with the water that can be experienced in an unique way.

DEKALB Market | Brooklyn - New York | 2011
with Marcelo Souzahttp://dekalbmarket.com
This project was made for a competition to create a new market using shipping containers. Dekalb Market, would be housed in an area of an old parking lot where all these containers together would bring creativ-ity for the Brooklyn’s products and where it would also happen events and performances.
Our idea was to keep the original structure of the container as much as we could; only making changes so that it could be used by different vendors of different products.
Taking the front of the store as a reference, the concept was to modify the container with the movement, making several cuts in one of their faces that could pivot and expand what is sold inside the container to the market. These cut pieces could be used as seating bench, to eat, for exhibitors etc...
On the other front, to continue with the etinerancy, a translucent panel would be installed on the structure of the corrugated container, where there would be holes for installing shelves or hooks in order to extend for products exhibition, and the space between the panel and the struc-ture there would be installed lamps and the electrical infrastructure.

Presented twice: First time in “O Tablado” theater in 2007 (Rio de Janei-ro), and in 2008 where it participated of the “Festival of Theatre of Rio de Janeiro” at the Princesa Isabel theater (Rio de Janeiro)We decided to work with plastic bottles to make cubes alike, and they could have different use in each scene. These cubes would not weigh, be-ing therefore easy to handle and carry to compose de scenes and would be transparent, easy to work in different environments. We adapted the materiality of the project according to the need of mobility, versatility and fluidity of this theatrical production that in a way it has a TV-style for having short scenes and different scenarios. And also, to take advantage of such an interesting and unusual material to work as plastic bottles.
Play: “Crack” | Text: Ricardo Rofstetter | Directed: Lionel Fisher | Assitant: Júlia Stokler | Light: Rodrigo Belay | Scenography: Luana Lima.
Play: “Tribobó City” | Text: Maria Clara Machado | Directed: João Brandão | Assistant: Zé Helou | Light: Rodrigo Belay | Scenography: Luana Lima.
Presented twice at the “O Tablado” Theater in 2008 (RJ). It is a children’s play, a parody of the American old West mixed with jokes of the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. The play takes place in one only scenario, a cabaret that also serves as a hostel. Keeping the back of the theater with the exist-ing brick, everything else was done in wood and bright colors to give it a childish style to the cabaret.
Play “Peer Gynt” was presented in July and August of 2010 at The “O Tablado” Theatre | Text: Henrik Ibsen | Directed by GuidaVianna | Assistant of direction and soundtracking: Matheus Souza | light by Rodrigo Belay | Scenography by Luana Lima.
It is a classic text of Ibsen, full of folklore, forest creatures, mystical char-acters, which gives us much more freedom in creating the scenario. We chose to work more with the costumes (as shown in the sketches) and with the light, leaving the stage design as a part of the actors’ props, as the cubes used in many scenes as shown in the pictures. In another scene we see a tree simulated by umbrellas and camouflage fabric that combined with the light and the smoke gave the appearance of the forest that the
Norwegian author describes. To pass all the sensations of the text through the scenario, we had to link the stage designing with the light, costumes, hybrid objects and mordern music (in the soundtrack there were bands like The Strokes, Beirut and Re-gina Spector; mixed with the original soundtrack by Edvard Grieg); so that the text could go smooth, dynamic not becoming boring and at the same time it could bring a modern touch to the classic text.
