4RTH YEAR DIPLOMADESIGN CONCEPT OF A 20 STORY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

The idea behind the form of the building was inspired from the plan of the district O2. Since its composition is dynamic and angular, it was only logical to design a building that would also reect the whole concept and thus make the district complete. Starting o by playing around with one rectangular shape, it then was cut into 5 pieces each turned by the angle in plan making a somewhat o-balanced shape which developed vertically. Then the shape was simplied to 4 forms, each a cubic shape but retaining the original idea. The design of the elevation is simple, the main goal of which was to encompass as much natural light as possible. The walls in the apartment plans were also turned to carry the concept from exterior into interior, developing unusual and original spaces.

Each cubic shape has dierent appartment designs which brings a variety of choice to future residents

O2 DISTRICT MASTER PLANNING

Location: Moscow, Golovinsky RegionThe current condition of the territory gives a devastating impression. About 80% of buildings are industrial facilities. The banks of the river Likhoborka are not landscaped, green areas are isolated from locals. Moscow is a city with adverse environmental conditions, where we exist in a constant shortage of fresh air. The motto of the project became "let's return the oxygen to the city" - Hence the name of the district. The aim of the project was the organization of a picturesque environment with as much number of green spaces as possible. The composition itself is dynamic, where all the roads lead to a green park, the center of two neighbourhoods that interact with each other. The path from one green area with a pond leads straight to the other green area with a river, passing through a cultural and entertainment center, that connects the two neighbourhoods. The height of the buildings decreases towards the center, developing its own microclimate.

The polygonal shape of the continuous wall wraps like a ribbon across the two disticts connecting them, while changing its functionality from a wall to a roof to a canopy.

The high-storey buildings on the outer perimeter of the districts act as a fortress and dene the borders, creating a unique microclimate.

Concept of a DogparkErgonomics project in addition to master plan concept

In such a megapolis as Moscow, where territory is scarce, a dogpark is indispensable to pet owners. That is why an area of 1 hectare was allocated specially for this use. The dogpark is located near the main park, in the center of 2 districts which makes it accesible for all residents.Being a dog owner myself I wanted to create a friendly and comfortable environment for both dogs and their owners to enjoy and relax. The territory of the dogpark is divided into 2 zones - one for small dogs, the other for big dogs. Each zone has its own entrace in order to reduce risks of aggresion among the dogs. Each area is separated into additional zones of agility training, games, a washing area for dogs, a barbeque area for owners. Also there is a special area that goes around the two zones for walking dogs that are in heat. Inside, the zones are divided not only by walking paths but also by the hilly terrain which acts as a natural barrier. All the necessary equipment for dog training and walking, such as tunnels, jumps, ladders, a-frames, dogwalks were taken into account while designing this project.

The project was done in a comic book manner with a story about a dog (in this case Snowy from the Tin Tin series) searching for the ideal place to play and run freely wthout a leash.Sketches were done by hand, then imported into photoshop for colouring

The presentation was a fold-out displaying th comic strips and information on one side

PUBLIC SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AGED 7 - 18

The main concept was to make a school whose shape would create an inspiring environment for the young minds and unleash their inner creativity. I also wanted to experiment with a simple cube shape and bring something very unusual to it. The plans of this school were inspired by the works of Hans Arp and Juan Miro. Every plan has a dierently shaped recreation area. From the rst oor and up the recreation decreases in size in relation to age groups. The recreation protrudes through the building and shows on the elevations. The elevations continue to grow but now through the landscape design of the school's territory

Ergonomics project for school

A school is a place not only to learn but also to get inspired. That is a why a school's environment should be creative and have an ability to change within. Staying in the same theme of Hans Arp I developed the main hallroom where pupils keep their books, learn their schedule and prepare for classes. The main idea was to create equipment that could be adjustable to any child's need. Hence, the seating place has levels which you could use for keeping your gloves, hats and backpacks while changing your shoes. The levels turn around the poles so you can slide them back and forth depending on your need. With these seating places left spontaneously dierent making theme look like little sculptures changes the setting of the hallroom. The information board also has sliding parts which go forward or up, and it acts as the main sculpture. The school lockers also carry the main theme with their umbrella holders in the front. Additionally the holders can be used for keeping other things.

MUSEUM OF LIGHT

The ght of good and evil,Tension, fear,Immersing complete darkness penetrated with a ray of lightNaturalSpatialMonumentalRock

These are the associations that were put into the design of the museum. The aim was to create something that represented time, that has been there since the dawn of mankind. Like an ancient mountain that has been left untouched while the surrounding was subjected to change. Inside, the museum is a vertical maze where light is the main exhibition. The idea was to experiment with various eects of natural and articial light as a person embarks on journey from total darkness to overwhelming light.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING „PURPLE HOUSE”

A project of a 6-story apartment building, set in a historic area of a chocolate factory „Red October”, in the heart of Moscow. The main idea was to make the building look not like an apartment building at all by excluding any kind of system of units. The house stands out not only by shape but also by colour. However, since purple is derived from red (the main colour of the surrounding buildings made of brick) the building harmonizes with the environment

ARCHITECTURAL CLUB „HILLS”

Project of an architectural club, situated in the center of Moscow. Due to the lack of greenery in the city center and scarce territory, the club is buried completely underground, leaving the surface free for a green park with only a few shapes protruding through the ground creating „hills”. The theme of nature continues in the glass skylights over the auditoriums with branch-like transom bars. The interior of the club has an open space, making it easier to access its auditoriums and workshops with a path that leads you around all of its premises.
