The site chosen is located in plain chaotic
Naples city center. Close to one of the
most important street in the area, Via
Tribunali, which is filled with busy
restaurants and shops.
Densely constructed, very few empty
spaces remain in these centenary streets .

Te site is a narrow and darklane, 2 to 4m wide and about25m long. Arches crossthe alley conecting the twosurrounding buildings.

Over the designing process diversemodels and sculptures were made totest volumes and textures.Tis sculpture is an experimentationwith organic orms, the idea oascendence and projection o lightand shadows.

Te desing concept was developed aroundthe beauty o light mutation, reflections andshadows.Te climb o the delicated moving stairsleads to the home o a piano teacher andultimatly to the roofop, where a classroomlays between city and sky.

Illustrated SectionIn order to accommodate the homeand the classroom in such a site,moving stairs were adopted. Teyconnect the building to the street andseparate private and rooms as well.Tis way students are directed to theclassroom and have no access to theteachers home.

The membraneTe membrane that involves the timber platorms is made o a steel structure and glassespyramids.Te pyramids size grow according to its height position in the building, the smallestpieces are in the entrance and largest ones are on the roofop.Tis change o proportion added to a flowing shape causes an impression o movement.

Next to the site is the abandonedchurch Santa Maria Maggiore, that
once was one o the renown Neap olitanconservatories.
From the bustling Piazza Georolomini,the classroom is visible closely to Santa
Maria Maggiore.

A brewery rom the early XIX insouth Brazil that has been abandonedor the last twenty years is the objecto study or a reuse design.Tis drawing resembles differentstages o the buildings architectureduring the last century.

Second Floor IllustrationIn the second floor, where the roo had allendown, there was a oneiric eeling caused by thelight that invaded the abandoned actory.Tat sensation was prioritized in the reuse de-sign. Moving roofing was adopted, this way theroom could be used in open-air exhibitions.

Exposition Place EntranceSince the ormer entrance did not have enough
space to accommodate the many people, itwas relocated to the side where the new one is
crowned by a wire installation. It evidences thestairway, protects visitants rom the sun and still
translucid enough not to block the view to theold building.

Workshop Entrance
A separated and secondary entrance leading tothe workshops was created.A luminous staircase beneath old and rustypipes makes the existence o a contemporaryintervention clear.
