Streets for People by the People
Ÿ Street of the city are not only the carriers of traffic flow but play a major role as asocial space that promotes social interaction further strengthening the socio-cultural fabric of the place. It is the most democratic space of the city where every user of the city has equal reight and hence it is the most crucial space of the city.Ÿ On this background this workshop aimed at developing sensitivity amongst students as well as citizens about this socio-cultural signifinance of streets and how it could be achieved through the idea of ‘Sustainable Urban Mobility’ that encourages the pedestrian friendly environment and public modes of transport over private modes of transport.
