Living RulesTheodor-Heuss-BridgeDusseldorf, Germany
The assignment was to develop a form of
collec ve living under the keyword „social
rules“.
As a group of 3 we decided that instead of
taking away important space at the riverbank
we wanted to give more space to the city.
We took advantage of the already exis ng
structure of the bridge and worked with its
grid. We wanted our complex to be seen as
part of the construc on - like a camoufl age.
Star ng with narrow dwellings that have all
important u lisa ons in a „shelf“ on one side
of the fl at our idea grew with me so that we
off er diff erent kinds of fl oor plans in the end.
We u lize the length of 1km of the bridge in 3
diff erent parts. On the eastern riverbank near
the University we have a „campus“ that con-
sists of small dwellings in a dense popula on.
The part on the western riverbank is more
„urban“ with bigger fl ats so that living for fa-
milies is possible. The middle directly over the
Rhine is a blend of small and medium fl ats.
All of the fl ats have the panorama view of the
skyline from the private balcony in common.sec on

The assignment was to develop a gazebo in a
scale of 1:1 on the property of the University.
It is supposed to be a freestanding, accessible
sculpture.
It was important to us to incorporate all
exis! ng objects to create a gazebo that is in a
way sedentary. Another important factor was
that it was not only supposed to be a piece of
art but also invite to linger and so boost the
exchange in the student body and decelerate
the daily rou! ne.
The pavilion consists of two parts that are
complementary. 27 frames that turn 3° from
one to the next. This brings a certain dynamic
and fl ow to the structure - almost as if it was a
moving portal.

infi nity„room of silence“funeral parlour
The assignment was to design a funeral parlour
that connects the func onal requirements
with the par! cular needs of the mourners.
The mo! f of infi nity is a recurring topic in
connec! on with life and death. I decided on
this symbol because you can fi nd it in every
religion and I wanted no signs of religion in my
funeral parlour. Every persuasion has diff erent
views on „life a$ er death“ or reincarna! on -
our existence is infi nite.
The building is divided into 2 parts - private
(offi ce, storage...) and public (chapel, wai! ng,
laying out...).
The height of the whole complex is gradient
which emphasises the more and less important
parts.

The assignment was to develop a concept for a
given building from place of loca! on over
target audience to the visualisa! on of the
project.
As a group of 3 we decided our proposal is to
be geared towards ar! sts. The community in
Dusseldorf has a wide variety and the city is
interna! onal orientated.
The property is located in the media harbour
where a lot of crea! ve businesses have their
headquarters.
The fl oor plans are thanks to their openness a
perfect fi t. Every fl at has an open gallery with
a huge glass front that brings natural light into
the building.

The assignment was to visualize the Eames
Lounge Chair from 1956 and create a short
anima on.
To make the work easier I started with an
analysis of the object.
That was followed by a storyboard because it
was my fi rst anima" on.

The assignment was to visualize an
architecture. In a group of two we decided on
the theme „Spa&Wellness“ because we wanted
to work on ligh ng and the topic of water. We
designed the fl oorplans and then worked on
the interior design. Emphasis was on the
visualisa" on and anima" on.
Our main focus was on the salt cave with its
an" clinal shape and the sauna area.

The architect has the fi nest job in the world because on a small planet where everything has already been discovered, designing is s! ll one of the greatest adventures
possible : a job on the fron! er, walking a knife edge between art and science, between originality and memory, between the daring of the modern and the cau! on of
tradi! on.
