playing in the existing kindergarten.

IDEA

DESIGN SKETCH

This kind of design follows the way of

Marble Run, using bamboo tube as a

single original shape, because the kid’s

patient is insufficient, which can cause

the child difficultly to get the sense of

achievement during the playing process,

thus it is added music elements.

It is increased two playing ways compared to the original product: 1. Children can assemble their own

music buttons and edit different

music sequence.

2. Children can place the music button

to its original position during stacking

the bamboo, thereby achieving different

rhythm and melody.

PROCESS RECORD

I have completed this product in An’ji County where is the Bamboo Forest of China,

the entire production spends a total of 3 weeks.

There are much processing technologies for bamboo, in which the tools needed to

master is also the part for me to study.

慈石

Before, the ancient Chinese used to compare magnet attracting iron to a loving mother attracting her own child, and so they call magnet "Ci Shi", which means loving stone.

“‘Ci Shi’ or loving stone attracts iron, so does a mother loves her son.” —— Eulogy of Loving Stone

The reason the ancient people naming magnet a loving stone is that: mother is like a magnet, just as children are like iron ores. The ring table of the mother ring is made of iron to be inlaid with natural magnet, while the son ring is inlaid with a small iron ore.

Details

LODESTONE & IRONI engraved the oracle - the ancient Chinese written character of “mu” (mother) and “Zi” (son) respectively on magnet and iron ore,aiming to pursue the most simple and sophisticated and the most primitive sentiment in the heart of the people.

Fast food restaurants need three types of packaging for placement of French fries of different component.

1. People like to spread out the French fries on the meal placemat attached with advertise- ment, and yet the ink on the placemat contains benzene and lead and other carcinogenic substances.2. The existing French fries packaging has only accommodation function, and it will become useless once the French fries is eaten up.

DESIGN INSPIRATION

IDEAI drew my inspiration from the traditional mode of Chinese way of packaging. It turned from a tiled cloth into a solid package appearance, which is easy for folding and convenient for accommodation.

Using cardboard, I made a model with 14cm radius.

When packaging, change the size based on the French Fries component for easy opening for eating, and there is no need of pad facial tissue or other container.

1. Each user will consume almost 4-5 handkerchief papers everyday.2. Many users have wasting handkerchief paper experience, and they believe that 44.1% of the handkerchief papers are wasted.3. It is discovered that, in order to save or share with others,32% of users need to divide the handkerchief paper in half.4. The existing handkerchief paper is not easy to be torn open,and yet easy to be torn.1

Playground that used to be alive with people, now it is surrounded with highrise.

The voices that surrounded are vehement, those buzzing about are white collars, those sitting are elders.

Internal Space

internal space is narrow (especially corridor between)，dark wet and stuffy.Many families live in a huddle, they devide the space in a mess.When living for long here, people feel constrained.

RECORD RELEASE

UFO is a design focusing on the emotional world of dogs. It consists of three words: unlonely, family, odor. Dog is a member in the family. When the owner is out of home, its loneliness and panic can be relieved by UFO which gives off the owner’s odor.

Before initial use, record the odors of the family members through the phone program.

Dogs like living in groups. They will be alone and panic if staying at home alone. They like tearing up the things with the owner’s smell and spreading the fragments all around to get a sense of security.

Before going out, start the function of giving off the odor with the phone. Then it will generate and give off the odors of the family members.

Anthem Rope

Anthem Rope is a design of halyard to solve the asynchronism between national flag and national anthem when the national flag is raised manually. The halyard is printed in lyric of national anthem according to time of broadcasting. National flag raiser will locate the lyric in the halyard according to the broadcastinglocation of national anthem to guarantee that the speed of flag rising is consistent with the speed of anthem broadcasting. The national flag will reach the top location in the end of national anthem.

WOWO

WOWO is a toy collecting box designed for children. It can accompany children to grow up. The smooth-spread WOWO allows children to crawl and toddle on it. After the simple folding, it can become a toy collecting box which can classify the toys. Compared with the traditional collocting box, its shape and color are preferred by the children.

With the soft material, WOWO can change from the flat to the solid by the easy folding, which is very interesting.
