SustainabilityThis tent module uses only sustainably sourced materials in construction, and is expandable and easy to deploy with few people and minimal tools, and can be carried by one person.

The interior shelter space appreciates humanitarian values by responding to natural disasters. The shelter structure should be easily transported and quickly installed by adapting to a given site based on immediate needs. This shelter space in the festival hall at Navy Pier, Chicago, provides personal/group sleeping spaces with organized facilities to meet people’s basic needs (including but not limited to food, clothing, and internet). In addition, it maximizes communal spaces for inhabitants to interact with each other to strengthen community bonds, as well as to protect each individual’s privacy within the space.

A play on the lab theme influenced the atmosphere of the space, called KUR Skin Lab. We, JSE Design, designed the reception and communal area to be pristine and inspirational. The KUR Spa provides the skin health treatment with selected cosmetic products and is planning to be branched out throughout the New York City.

The dramatic scale of the fountain induced rainbow spectra provides a sense of emotional appeal to spectators by creating a focal point that draws them into the environment. It also emphasizes the center’s message and themes - peace, community and freedom of love.

Proposal Features1. Symbolism: Freedom-to-Marry2. Natural Rainbow Effect3. Spatial Integration

The rainbow effect not only attracts tourists, but also symbolizes the pier’s purpose. It is used to illustrate the ‘Freedom-to-Marry’ to visitors/wedding guests. The water fountain polls are essential to the controlled creation of various rainbows. In order to induce a natural phenomena the fountains are operated in a fashion which allows them to respond to different solar positioning throughout the day. This display helps to engage and entertain spectators who may otherwise not be attendees to private cere-monies.

This project challenges the traditional notion of furniture and what it means to have the opportunity to solve a problem or innovation for the selected client, Geiger. I considered how to plan to fabricate the object, materials and methods I have access to, and any other limitations I may have based on time frame, and client design language.

The proposal images suggest that visitors to Bedford Public library will enjoy an abun-dant supply of light. The floor-to-roof windows will now welcome streams of light to flood the staircase, furniture, people, and their devices throughout the day.

Our goal in JSE Design team was to overcome the limited amount of space by creating open and breathy atmosphere. Inspired by the client’s strong preference in color and texture, we carefully combined the materials for one which is rich in contrast and balance in order to create clean and healing space for the master bathroom.

The purpose of the bold proposal for the redesign of Glenteparken is to create a more interesting space that invites the nearby residents to utilize the park. The continuous, flowing form is in some places seating, in others shelter, and in others it frames the entryway to the park and the view of the famous portrait of Princess Mary. This dramatic aesthetic is intended to draw attention of passersby, but also to divide the park into more comfortable spaces for spending time. The bus stop is also moved onto the site so that the park appears occupied whenever anyone is waiting for the bus. The form of the structure is used to divide the park into four zones: The gravel path-way for passing through, the bus stop, and two grassy nooks that are more sheltered from the street. There are also gaps in the wooden construction of the structure, so that there is still visibility throughout and the park is open to the surroundings.
