The architects, Michele Giardulla and Teresa La Gala have been working in Cremona since 2007. In that same year they founded the officina 1441, an architectural workshop involved in composition and urban planning. The scope of the officinal 1441 is to solve problems connected with the condition of life of modern people. In 2011 they received the award “IQU7” (Urban Innovation Quality ) from the University of Ferrara for their project Vallo Express 999. This project , on disused field regeneration, had been mentioned the year before at the award ceremony for “Regeneration of Unused Fields in the County of Salerno”They have also obtained, with their architectural work, Napolis in moto, third place in the competition promoted by the Association of Biological Architecture of Naples. While with their project Pistart the officinal 1441 participated in and won the competition concerning former municipal slaughterhouse redevelopment in Pisticci.Students of the Napolean school of thought they completed a degree in Architecture in 2006 at the University of Naples “Federico II” with a thesis on city planning and development entitled “ New South Italy’s Exhibition Area”.The alluring works of Loos and Mies Der Rohe have drawn these two architects to the direct knowledge of the subject. Through their many travels, which still remain today, the only real tool in the understanding of the true existing relationship between man and edifice.Their website www.officina 1441.it gathers, other than their projects, a vast series of works from artists with the intent to create a shared language able to bring architecture and any other art form to its splendor.

The radio wave as an element that puts you online, as an element of sharing and communication. The radio wave must be symbolically seen as an eye opener a cultural awakening, that does not only come in the tridimensional spaces but exceeds them beyond the limits of the ordinary, creating an approach that brings us back to the origins, the beginning the four elements. These four elements are elements that characterize the city: Marina di Pisticci “WATER”, gullies “EARTH” , the winds of the Lucani and Pisticci area “ WIND”, the final element represented by the sun is “FIRE”. The allocation of the observatory destines the four elements to each take a different role. An aquarium on the lower level and below the building to study the marine fauna evokes the element of water; an astronomical observatory on the top floor evokes the element of fire; in the surrounding area we have a natural observatory dedicated to the study of florae and fauna alla around taking care of the elements WIND AND EARTH. On another level of the structure below the observatory we can find an area dedicated to movie projections that can become a relay site for the important “ Festival Cinematografico” that could show only films of futuristic thematics.

Molfetta in ReteMolfetta on Web

One of the images that evokes the unbreakable bond between the city of Molfetta and the sea is the “fishing net”. The fishing net poetically recalls an element formed by single pieces each piece necessary for the correct and primitive functioning of the entire net. The net seen as something thrown on the entire area, in which every trapezoidal element acts as a connector and creates one unique web. A web that symbolically tries to give an identity to the city and tries to restore it’s bond with the old city, with the city of Fisherman, with the city of the Concavity as it’s ethimological root suggests Melp/Melf.The major architectural symbol is formed by a wall that takes the shape of the historic city, that runs along the east-west axis to end up in the area known as “ Parco del Mezzogiorno”, letting people take notice of the value of their spaces, and creating new activities and new urban actions.

Il territorio in Open AirThe territory in Open Air

The Umbria Gallery project tries to recover a millennial relationship present in each of the five neighborhoods and that seems to be the foundation their development in the course of the years. The design concept divides itself in three stages, three are the parts of the sequence and three the functions of the project; Sala , B&B, Art Gallery, three accesses to the areas, three meters that separate the existing areas, that is why there is a grid build 3x3 meters, in which the elements of the project move

across the wheelsWTulip Fields ForeverCampi di Tulipani per Sempre

The study of the planimetry of Amsterdam suggests the form “Across the Wheel” in accordance to the symbology that identifies the city, this is highlighted though the use of three concentric rings, the mills, the three bands of different dimensions and tortuousness, the walkways give life to the flourishing of paths in front of the Hermitage Amsterdam Museum, connected with the café, the bicycle repair and the services. Along the circular form of the principal elements, we have the use of hydropower given from the rotation of the mills, and the use of wind power given by the rotation of the blades allocated inside the wheels. In this way the project is powered on its own for both illumination of the bridge and for the energy necessary for other functions.

KUNST ARTE PARKO un promontorio d’arteKUNST ARTE PARKO a headland of art

The project KAP is an attempt to “hand over” art to pure hands, unaware and culturally still virgins. Historically public spaces have been the main elements for art expositions, and only in these spaces a new way of doing of knowing and relating can be born. A house, a square a stream a mountain, are things that are of simple meaning, they unconsciously influence the character of men, of the landscape; this is the guideline to the concept of the project for the park-area in the district of Casanova, it finds in Public Art an authentic instrument that can render a social scenario familiar.Art thus contributes to finding the identity of this area, art becomes the main character of the ground design and in a way brings it closer, makes it more renowned, unveiled.

l’arte parte da Pisticciart starts from Pisticci

The gash, the cut; the cut seen as a sign of the constant fractures in the ground, the cut as an element that divides the historical memory of the town and the new urban area. The cut seen as a symbolic element that has characterized the ex slaughterhouse activities. The cut thus represents the main element that brings this new urban reality, keeper of an ancient polemos, it transforms from being a dividing element in an element of union, new routes that give way to forgotten landscapes that scream and ask to be listened to; this gives life to the project PISTart, Art starts from Pisticci.

il segreto è il numerothe secret is the number

In modern day London Trafalgar Square is a junction of cultures, faces, glances and movements. It’s structure dictated by a geometrical grid, and spawned from the neoclassical period can seem common and eclipsed if it weren’t for the fact that these axis’s will delineate a new direction towards the square.20°12. A rotation that will bring Trafalgar, it’s cultures it’s views, it’s city towards the Olympic stadium, place of the 2012 Olympic Games. The number thus becomes the secret from which the choices are made, it is the number that identifies the Olympics, the city and the relationship London has with the games. 2012, the year of the Olympics, 4 the times London has hosted them, 6 as the numerical relationship between 12 and 4.

infiniti scorci di tempoinfinite glimpses of time

This all starts to create movement, which is something that very much belongs to the city of Naples, movement that creates congregation, arrivals, cultures, the idea of a motion that is so felt that it generates and traces the guidelines of a new urban space. The marketplace, the promenades of students, the daily passage of tourists assert an urban background that consolidates our idea to plan a construction of small squares so that the sociability, development and cultural value are ameliorated. Thus to recall order we thought of tracing a big chessboard carving in the street pavement, a grid that would give once more a more “approachable understanding”, and that would give people the opportunity to gaze in aw the beauties of the urban space.

il passato come matrice di una nuova identitàthe past serves as a die for a new identity

The new network of communication coils along the way of the old train route of Sicignano degli Alburni- Lagonegro and the route of Atena-Marsico Nuovo, using the existing foundations that are however only partially used. The place is remodeled and re designed with the new urban inputNature has asserted it’s dominance on the area, and in a some what similar way the railroad must pass by the “Railroad Museum” asserting a bond with the historical memory of the place. The project avails an intricate system of communication, on which the interest is to ignite the interconnection routes and the major cultural attractions that are needed for the touristic boost and for the amelioration of public services.

archèmatiboAèla matematica di Fibonacci diventa architetturaFibonacci’s math becomes architecture

The project begins from the violin, to render the square a “reminiscent tale” an iconic language is used, a language able to evocate a desirous pursuit and to narrate the ancient link between music and the city. In the violin, the head is the part where the section is manifested in the most recognizable way, through Fibonacci’s sequence in which the violins head created a spiral, however in the project it is unwrapped with the intention of showing it’s sinuosity and while unraveling it becomes bigger in arithmetical progression. If by using our imagination we try to position the curve on an horizontal axis and introduce the violins handle as a vertical element with its four strings, it appears natural to assimilate the four strings to the lines of a pentagram that are supposed to symbolyze the instrument with which we read the music composed by notes. The bottom portion of the square is thus crossed by a pentagram and goes through the design of the square paving and from the flowerbeds that occupy the space in between the strings space.
