Schools for the Rebirth_Progetto Mondo MlalPort-au-Prince/ Leogane, Haiti 2012

Progetto Mondo Mlal works in the third town section of Leogane within the reconstruction of three schools. The area of Leogane has been strongly struck by the earthquake of January 12 2010. The project foresees the realization of three community schools: Les Abeilles d’Aspam, Institution Mixte de Myrdud and Com-munautaire de Deslandes. My responsibilities include supervi-sing the constructions and all the connected processes (design, preliminary studies, and construction). Within the process of construction I have followed the relationships between the local enterprises and the international organizations involved in the project. The job on the field is related to the supervision of the works and the advancement of the yards.

Beach House Pochomil ViejoCoast of the Pacific Ocean, Nicaragua 2009-2010

Project of a beach house situated on the Pacific Ocean coast. The house’s design has been based on a “rancho”, the typical cons-truction that uses a structural system in wood and a top in clay roof tiles. The perimetrals walls of the building have been built using wood panels and aluminum plates. The 90% of the system is detachable and reusable. Armed blocks of raw earth (adobe) have been used for its interior, this material allows a better con-trol of the temperature and humidity. The blocks have been pro-duced by a rural community in the proximities of the project site, which has minimized the costs. The house is constituted by two bedrooms, two baths and an open space that includes two terra-ces and the kitchen for a total of 160sm of covered surface.

Alfama HouseAlfama quarter,Lisbon Portugal 2008

The project foresees a home for a person located in Alfama, an historical quarter of Lisbon. The central theme of the proposal rotates around the relationship that is created between the house and the historic sites of the city. The area is in direct contact with the ruins of the Roman theater and the museum attached to it. An attempt was made to establish a harmonious relationship between the different parts favoring the view of the archaeologi-calcal heritage of the Roman ruins of the first century, and the landscape of the Tejo river that crosses the city. In this way, the house serves as a link between the various parties, favoring a pri-vileged view of the city and its historical memory.

Chupeta Dining CultureMilan, Italy 2012-2013

Chupeta Dining Culture is a project to produce handmade and hand painted pottery.ChupetaChupeta is the name given to the daily ration of food (mainly consisting of rice and beans) given to inmates in Nicaragua. The Chupeta is the basis, the minimum daily meal that allows going forward. Chupeta becomes Chupeta Dining Culture, because we are not content with the basic ration, beyond food we also want freedom, imagination, love and art. Every day, just like our own meals and with our meals.
