A Little Something About Me . . . .
WORK EXPERIENCE
I aspire my spatial design to be
aesthetically appealing for its simplicity.
I want to develop a system within
myself which would enable me to
choose appropriate material for
optimum design. By working under an
Architect I believe I can enhance my
already existing skills and make use of
my potential completely.
An ardent admirer of Art I have constantly viewed the world from an Architect’s point of view. A wanderlust by nature I have traveled across the map of India. I owe my inspiration for Architecture to these many enthralling journeys.

CONCEPTION
Voila`
The square frame forms the
main element of the design.
Two parameters are altered :
Length of frame and angle of
rotation.

After nailing the frames together a layer of putty is flushed on the surface of the wood, thus enabling the paint to adhere with the surface. Fabricated in Anna University

NASCENCE
PARAMETRIC MODEL IN WOOD
After 2 days
of drying base
paint, the
surface is
painted in
RED.
The concept of parametric modeling can be applied in many designs like pavilion, walk-way for pedestrian, table, façade, almost anything that comes to your mind.
INTERMEDIATE STAGE . . .
PARAMETRIC DESIGN
Application : By placing a glass on top, it could be used as a center table. Or it could just be used as a Wall Hanging.
In my next parametric models I aspire to use ‘Pascal’s Triangle’ and ‘Fibonacci series’ concepts.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
ASYMMETRICAL SHELF
This is only a prototype. The idea
is to have asymmetrical levels of
horizontal surface-member which
can be thought of as planks in a
wooden shelf or slabs in a highly
mechanized parking space. Such a
system can also be used as a
partition mechanism between
two rooms, without using the
conventional wall which takes
more space.
PROCUREMENT OF MATERIAL
I have selected wood for this project. The
thickness of the plank is 1/2 inches. The
material can be bought at any wood/timber
shop.
SIZE OF SHELF :
WIDTH = 600mm
HEIGHT = 700 mm
FABRICATION AND CUTTING
I used a large cutting machine to cut the wooden plank with sharp edges. The original size of plank was 5mx3m. The asymmetrical shape of the shelf makes it look dramatic.
A SketchUp model showing how this shelf can be used as partition wall.
PAINTING AND FINISHING
The painting of the wooden surface was done in the same way as in the wooden wall hanging. The wooden surface is first smoothen using sand paper. Next a layer of wall putty is put on the surface. This is sanded again. After 3-4 days of drying the surface is painted. Currently the surface is painted in Teal.

INSPIRATION :
A mural inspired by Jaipur Art, Culture and Architecture.
I painted this bottle after I
backpacked across the Golden
Triangle, India. My stay was mostly
in Jaipur. I was highly motivated by
the paintings on the walls of
monuments and palaces in Jaipur.
And that's when the idea for
painting this bottle was conceived.
Jaipur is also called the Pink City of India, due to the here buildings which are in orange-pink shade. Jaipur is also the capital of Rajasthan. Being the city of Kings and Queens, Jaipur has many palaces. The art and culture of Jaipur is known all over the world. Jaipur is famous for it’s Blue Pottery.
Time taken to finish this project : 4
months
In Progress.. . . .
Development of Ideas...
The bottle represents the different
forms of Architecture and Culture
seen in Jaipur, Agra and New Delhi.
The ornate print on the neck and
bottom of the bottle is highly
inspired by the murals on the walls
of Taj Mahal (Mughal architecture).
The mid portion which exhibits
arched type openings is
quintessentially Rajasthani. Such
intricate work can be seen on the
façade of the many castles and
fortress in Rajasthan. The Hawa
Mahal in Jaipur is a scintillating
example of such work.

SOMETHING ABOUT JAIPUR… …
SKETCH-UP MODELS
DINNING AREA
Red is considered to be a sacred color in many cultures. It promotes sociable and lively feelings, and stimulates the
appetite. Hence I have used the color red in the dinning area. The pergola adds a soothing effect to eyes due to the creepers. Indoor plants are put inside to regulate the quality of indoor air. The French-like windows given allow maximum natural light to enter the room.
Below two sketch up models show a concept for society. The glass façade is provided to allow maximum entrance of natural sunlight. In the middle a small garden with umbrella shading seating is given.

ARCHITECTURE AROUND INDIA
Kashmir
Agra
Kashmir
The Indian architecture is inspired by many cultures. Being ruled by The Mughals, The British, The Persians, it is reflected in the designs of such buildings. The Qutub Complex, in Delhi exhibits Indo-Islamic, Ghurid styles of Architecture.
The main construction material in all buildings of Kashmir is brick and wood.

Mumbai is the home to second most number of Art Deco Buildings in the world. Being ruled by The British Victorian architecture is seen evidently.

The picture of left shows how ornate patterns were carved on marble stone. The picture on right is of a gate of City Palace. Floral paintings were painted throughout the walls of such structures. The city palace in Jaipur has Fusion of Shilpa Shastra of Indian architecture with Mughal and European styles of architecture.

Art Installtion Using Reflective Surface Of Metal (Aluminum Like)
I have always been amused by Art Installations. I believe they form a good way to express your emotions. Dramatically.
Mathematical concepts can be used to produce variety of designs. The one shown above is a tile design based out of ‘Pascal’s Triangle’. Similarly ‘Fibonacci Series’ can also be used for parametric designs.

COMPARISION BETWEEN
BIO-TOILET AND NORMAL
TOILET SYSTEM.
• Disposes human waste in a 100% eco- friendly manner.
• The Bio-Digester Tank comprises of a Bacterial Inoculums, which decomposes the waste into Pure Water & Biogas
• Generates colorless, odourless inflammable bio gas (methane) for cooking, water ,room heating etc.
• 100% maintenance-free, continuous biological process.
• Elimination of pathogens, extremely suitable for sub-zero temperatures.
• 1/3 space occupied by septic tank.
• ``
BIO-TOILET SYSTEM
• The above image shows the functioning of a normal toilet.
• The sludge is taken into a septic tank which has a number of disadvantages:
• Mosquitoes breed on the dirty water formed. • Also, due to the cracks in the septic tanks, the sludge percolates through the ground. • Improper decomposition leads to bad odour. • Contains aerobic bacteria • Requires quarterly emptying. • 3X space occupied by septic tank . • Only 30% decomposition of excretory waste .
