the pets of people who are homeless or living in extreme poverty.

PAW Team by the numbers:• We provide over 700 free veterinary appointments
every year.• We help more than 500 animals and 350 people each
year with veterinary support.• We provide over 100 spay/neuter surgeries a year to
further reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

What We DoThe Portland Animal Welfare (PAW) Team is a Portland, Oregon based non-profit that provides free veterinary care for the pets of people who are homeless or living in extreme poverty. In addition to basic veterinary care, such as vaccines and flea treatment, PAW Team also offers free spay/neuter surgeries and other lifesaving and life enhancing surgeries.
How to QualifyYou must be homeless, working with a referring agency or able to provide proof of income below the federal poverty line. To qualify, simply come in to our office any Tuesday or Thursday between 9:30am and 2:00pm.
Clients must bring recent proof of income and a photo ID. You may also ask your caseworker for a Verifica-tion of Income Statement that includes all sources of income (SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, etc.). We are unable to qualify anyone for services who does not have these two documents. Please call 503-206-6033 if you have any questions.
Referring Agencies:
If you are already working with a social service agency such as a housing organization, they may be able to refer you to PAW Team, allowing you to bypass the standard qualification process.
