How to show up the day of your shoot

Clothing ideas and suggestions

Nerves got you excited?? I sure hope so! It makes it all the more fun when you’re doing something new like this! Don’t worry though, we are here to help you every step of the way, starting with an overview of your session.

When you first arrive I will introduce you to our staff and help you get all your stacks of clothes loaded into the studio! We will then quickly get your before shot, and move onto discussing your hair and makeup options.

Hair and makeup will take around an hour, give or take. While you are relaxing, being pampered, I will be going through your clothing and picking out the outfits for the day. We usually use 4-6 outfits total. I will probably have you remind me of any jewelry you may want to pair with a particular outfit, as since I wear very little jewelry I tend to forget those little details!

Once you are finished being pampered, we will get you into your first outfit and begin shooting! This is the fun part, well, the interesting part! Be aware, I will pose you down to your lashes, so many times you feel like you are in the most awkward positions. Trust me. You WILL look AMAZING though. What the camera sees is not how we see. This is wear my expertise really comes into play.

Once finished with the shoot we will discuss your date for the sales session. It generally takes around 2 weeks to complete the editing process. We will nail down this date and time later so that you can check with any other decision making parties that may need to be there.

Please don’t be afraid to ask any questions you may have!

How to show up the day of your shoot

What to do before your big day

Clean/Dry Hair

Clean/Fresh Face

Comfy Clothes

If your hair is not dry, the time taken to dry it will be taken out of your shoot time. This makes it very important to show up with your hair ready to style.

None of us feel awesome without our makeup, but our makeup artists are professionals and will promise to give you the look you want! To do this, they will be starting from scratch and will need a clean, moisturized face to do their job.

You will be sitting in the pampering chair for around an hour getting your hair and makeup done, so it is important for you to wear comfortable clothing during that time. Also wear something that is easily removed as to not mess up your hair and makeup when changing.

What to do before your big day

Get Roots Done

Get Nails Done

Hair Removal

Roots will show up in photos, so it is always a good idea to get them touched up . If you don’t

color your hair, then don’t worry about this one!

I am constantly putting hands in the frame, so nails should be painted . Neutral colors look the best. If you don’t normally paint your nails then natural is fine, just make sure they are trimmed

the way you like them.

Very important! Be sure to think about your hair, other than the stuff on top of your head! Think about eyebrows, legs, arm pits, and the

bikini line if bringing lingerie.

Clothing suggestions and ideas:

Important things to think about:~Different necklines~Different colors (although same tones are fine)~Different sleeve types~Form fitting tops over loose ones~Different textures (sequins, lace, chiffon, etc.)~Solids over crazy prints~Undergarments for each outfit (nude usually works best)~Remember accessories (jewelry, hats, scarves, hair pieces)~No need for shoes (my girls always go barefoot) (exception though if having an outdoor shoot)
