Programme Overview

The Smart Buddy watch can be used in the school canteen, bookshop or at more than 10,000 NETS Contactless merchants islandwide.

Simply look out for the logo.

When making payment, simply say “Payment via NETS*”.

Date and TimeDate and time can only be updated by syncing it to your Smart Buddy App under the WATCH section.

What’s more, the straps are removable, so you can customise your child’s watch with new strap(s) by clicking the ‘ ’ icon on Smart Buddy Mobile App.

Instantly disable the payment chip in your child’s watch in the event of loss/stolen watch.

Mobile App Features Stamps

The total stamp savings for the month will be automatically transferred to your child’s account by 15th of the following month. Otherwise, any stamps savings will be transferred to the parent’s debiting account.

You may submit a request to link your child’s account at www.posb.com.sg/sbcreditingac.

Your child can purchase digital smiley stamps at S$0.50 each at the school bookshop with the Smart Buddy watch.

A new stamp card will be generated once a total of 20 digital Smiley Stamps are bought.

1. How can I change the account (i.e. account used for deductions) used for my child’s Smart Buddy Watch?You may perform a change via iBanking or digibank. Alternatively, visit any POSB/DBS branch to perform a change.

2. If I increase my child’s daily allowance on the mobile app, is it instantly updated?Yes, your child may use the additional allowance allocated immediately.

3. If I set a daily allowance limit of S$2.00, will it be deducted from my account immediately?No. Your account will only be deducted when a transaction is made.

E.g. if your child buys a chicken for S$1.50, only S$1.50 will be deducted from your account.Assumingyourchilddoesn’tspendtheremainingallowanceofS$0.50,thisamountwillbereflectedasAllowanceSavingsunderthe “Savings”sectionontheMobileApp.

4. Will any unspent allowance for the day be carried forward to next day?No. Any unspent allowance will be reflected as “Allowance Savings” under the “Savings” section on the mobile app. The savings will be automatically transferred from your debiting account to your child’s account if you’ve provided a child’s Savings Account during registration.

5. I did not provide my child’s Savings Account number during registration, how can I update this account for the auto transfer of savings for my child?Visit www.posb.com.sg/sbcreditingac to submit a request to update your child’s account.

6 What should I do if my child loses his/her Smart Buddy watch?You may temporarily disable the Smart Buddy watch by switching the “Disable Account” to “On” under your child’s profile. In the event that the watch is found, you may enable it again by switching the “Disable Account” to “Off”. To permanently terminate the payment chip, you may contact POSB hotline at 1800 111 1111. There will be a fee of S$30 for a replacement.

7. Is the Smart Buddy Watch waterproof?No, the watch is splash & water resistant. Do advise your child not use the watch in the shower or when he/she goes for a swim.

8. My child’s watch doesn’t display the correct nickname, date & time. What should I do? You may sync your child’s watch via the “Watch” section on the mobile app. 9. If I see “GOODBYE” on the watch face, is it still on standby? No, this means the watch has been turned off. The date/time will stop running. You will see “HELLO” when the watch is first turned on. It

will go into standby mode after 10 seconds, i.e. the screen will turn dark. The date/time will continue to be updated. 10. The watch ran out of battery and the date/time is wrong. How can I sync the date/time on the watch? You may sync your child’s watch via the “Watch” section on the Smart Buddy mobile app to update the date/time. Please note that your

child will still be able to use the watch for payments. 11. How can I sync my child’s fitness data (i.e. number of steps) from the watch to Smart Buddy mobile app? You may sync your child’s watch by clicking “Sync” under the “Watch” section on the Smart Buddy mobile app. 12. My child’s watch is faulty (i.e. cannot charge), what can I do? If your child is studying in a Smart Buddy participating school (except Xingnan Primary School), your child may perform a 1-to-1 exchange

at the school’s General Office.

Alternatively, you may also perform a 1-to-1 exchange at our Replacement Centre. 14 Scotts Road, #04-140 Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213 Operation Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm (Closed on Public Holidays) Do remember to remove the payment chip from the faulty watch during replacement. Thereafter, insert the payment chip into the new watch and setup the watch via the Smart Buddy Mobile App.
