For nearly 20 years, Posh Nosh Imports has been importing the favorite foods from the UK & Ireland. We import only category leaders, which provide our customers with products that are not only the most recognized, but also the highest sell rate. With a selection of over 500 brand-name products, we cover every category with products that deliver results for retailers.

With nearly two decades of experience, we understand the concerns that our customers have when it comes to imports. That’s why we work closely with the FDA to ensure that our products meet their compliance regulations. Our products are relabeled to display all relevant information. We carefully monitor FDA ingredient regulations, and make the necessary changes if ingredient and coloring conflicts arise.

Our experience helps take the guesswork out of product selection. We work closely with our customers to develop a range that is tailored to their needs.

We can design any size plannogram that our customers require, from 4’, 8’, 12’ to 16’. Our experience & selection process provides you with sets that will produce results.

We work with our customers throughout the entire process. Once we’ve helped pick the products that suit their needs best, we are also equipped to provide assistance with new product setup, scan-down promotion, and advertising participation.

By developing close relationships with our customers, we are able to address issues quickly and efficiently. Our marketing department is constantly developing new tools to improve sales. From promotional display shippers to informational material to educate customers and even staff, we work hard to ensure that all our customers’ concerns are met.

Mars Confectionery

In 1988 Nestlé acquired Rowntree’s, the famous British confectioners. Rowntree’s was founded as a grocery business by Mary Tuke, a young Quaker, in 1725. Her business was eventually acquired by Henry Isaac Rowntree in 1862, who turned it from a simple cocoa works into confectionery company. Henry was joined in business in 1869 by his brother Joseph Rowntree who eventually took over.

Rowntree’s York firm has been responsible for many of the great confectionery brands that we know today, like Kit Kat, Aero, Smarties, Polo, Black Magic, Dairy Box, Fruit Pastilles and Fruit Gums. The Rowntree’s are not just famous for their confectionery; they’re also famed as leading Quaker Philanthropists. The Rowntree family built a model village just a mile north of their factory to give local people alternative accommodation to inner-city slum dwellings. Joseph Rowntree also set up four charitable trusts, one to lobby for parliamentary reform, another to run the model village, one to make charitable grants and a fourth to investigate the causes of poverty.

Since Nestlé took over Rowntree’s we have invested over £200 million into the York site alone and we’ve invested £100 million in our Tutbury factory. In fact, between 2006 -2011 Nestlé have invested £224 million in our UK sites.Nestlé is a major UK employer, employing 6,500 employees across 20 sites. They are one of the UK food industry’s major exporters, exporting in excess of £260m worth of products each year to 50 countries around the world.

MARS bars were made and packed by hand to a secret recipe, which Forrest brought in his pocket from America. Starting with just one food mixer and working on long wooden tables he employed ‘spreaders’, ‘strippers’, ‘dippers’ and ‘toppers’ to make his innovative new confectionery. The MARS bar quickly rivalled the established block chocolate products of competitors such as Cadbury and Rowntree. It was hard physical work to exacting standards for a small team – from a start-up with just four associates, 100 people were working for Mars at the end of its first year.

The new business grew fast, moving to bigger premises in 1933. MILKY WAY and MALTESERS followed soon, only to be halted during the war. Seen as a good food source of energy, MARS bar production continued and the confectionery was supplied to allied troops all over the world.

The company name changed to Mars Ltd in 1947. With food rationing over, BOUNTY was launched in the 1950s, followed by GALAXY in 1961 and TOPIC a year later. REVELS, TWIX and MARATHON – now SNICKERS – were also 60s creations. GALAXY MINSTRELS arrived in 1976, TRACKER was launched in 1985 and M&M’s reached the UK in the late 80s. CELEBRATIONS, the innovative first miniature versions of top confectionery brands was launched in 1997.

Nestlé UK has been a part of life in the UK since the 1860s. The company has its roots in three big organisations; Nestlé, the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company and Rowntree’s of York.

Toffee and crisped rice filled milk chocolate. Toffee Crisp was first launched in 1963. Toffee Crisp is Nestle Rowntree’s 12th biggest selling brand and is a lighter brand than most on the market.

Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles contain 25% fruit juice and no artificial colours, or flavours or preservatives come in five flavours: blackcurrant, lemon, strawberry, lime, and orange. Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles were launched in 1881 and are Nestlé Rowntree’s oldest product. Before then, manufacture of gums and pastilles had been a French monopoly.
