POSITIVE COLLECTIONS RELAUNCHES WITH A

NEW CREDIT CONTROL SERVICE

Positive Collections, the online debt recovery service for businesses and consumers, has re- launched

with a new free Credit Control system on the site.

Following previous research, independently commissioned by positivecollections.co.uk, which found

that UK small businesses cash flow was suffering and that businesses were now more likely than ever

to accept excuses from late paying customers, the new service will help businesses keep on top of

their invoices.

David Green, CEO of Positivecollections.co.uk comments, “We wanted to address the issue that our

research had revealed, showing a clear trend towards delayed payments which has been made more

prevalent since the recession took hold.”

More than 260 businesses across a number of industry sectors participated in the research, which

found :

Small to medium sized businesses are the most likely to suffer from late payers (with 74

per cent stating that they are likely to accept late payment excuses).

10 per cent of organisations avoid chasing debts at all as they are worried about losing

future business or simply feel too uncomfortable about broaching the subject.

The new online Credit Control service is free and allows businesses to upload their invoices and keep

track of their payment terms with helpful email reminders. If payment goes beyond the stated terms,

the invoice can then be transferred over to the debt recovery service.

Positivecollections.co.uk, which works with MTA Solicitors LLP, aims to help consumers and

businesses of all sizes to combat the issue of late payments and debt collection. Users are able to

upload invoices and use the Credit Control system for free before, if necessary, recovering debts

ethically and inexpensively from as little as £10 to get the process moving.

Green continues, “The fact that so many businesses in the UK have become accepting of this ‘late

payment culture’ is certainly a cause for concern as this has implications on the whole business

community and economy. However it is the smaller businesses that take the strain and in the worst

case scenario have to fold.”

“Achieving good cash flow and recovering debt as quickly and as smoothly as possible is one of the

key aspects to staying afloat in difficult markets and tight economic times, and we hope the new

services at Positive Collections will help small businesses to do this.”

Chasing debts can be a frustrating and often awkward process for many business owners, but

seeking legal action is rarely an option for smaller businesses due to the costs associated with it.

Using a cost effective service like positivecollections.co.uk, which is linked to a solicitors firm, means

that businesses are in a good position to handle the case if it reaches the litigation stage.

The simple to use service streamlines the credit control and debt recovery process using a step by

step automated approach ensuring the user is always in control every step of the way. Any fees are

fixed to a minimum cost and are never incurred without prior agreement from the user.

The debt recovery process works by automatically sending a series of up to four letters (costing a total

of £40) and if payment has still not been received it will instruct nationwide firm, MTA Solicitors LLP, to

act on its behalf.
