An opening statement explaining what the concept is (derived from the presentationdocument). 500 words in length.

    - Photocopies of the 25 articles (to be spread over a couple of A4 pages).Overall deadline: Week 7.

    Plan:

I have put together a plan we could use if youre ok with it- Ive split the work up but I havent

allocated it to anyone specific; if you like to plan just select which Person (1-7) you would like to be

and let everyone know via the facebook group.

    1. Everyone read sections of the presentation document (too big for everyone to read all of it).Its difficult to allocate pages to people and makes more sense to allocate the various

chapters, so.(in the order of the document):

Person 1- An urgent challenge, Trends in food crop production, Science in context, The need

for sustainable intensification and Agricultural sustainability.

Person 2- Agriculture and sustainable economic development, Other major studies, Further

UK work, About this report and Conduct of the Study.

Person 3- Climate Change, Water, Temperature, Ozone and Soil Factors.

Person 4- Crop nutrition, Pests (etc), Energy and greenhouse gas emissions and Maintenance

of genetic resources and germplasm availability.

Person 5- Introduction, Tools for research and technology and Applications of research.

Person 6- Conclusion, The natural environment and externalities, Human Health, Social and

Economic systems and Extension and technology transfer.

Person 7- Innovating towards sustainable intensification, Meeting the challenge of global

food security, Scientific targets, The capacity to innovate and Making Science make a

    5. We meet on Monday (28th Feb) to run through the PowerPoint presentation again and handover all our newspaper articles to Person 2 to be photocopied, put on A4 pages and stapled

to the back of the portfolio document (to be printed by Person 2 also). This will have to be a

morning meeting as we may be presenting later that day and/or we may also need to

actually submit our work later that day- although the precise deadline for this has not been

    stated yet.
