field and applicable aid year. ▪ Review the “Comments” field for any pertinent
information regarding previously completed DL Over Limit Review/Warnings.
Calculate Aggregates
▪ Calculate totals for all undergraduate and graduate subsidized and unsubsidized loans separately.
▪ Use undergraduate totals to determine remaining undergraduate eligibility by subtracting graduate loans.
Lifetime Aggregate TotalSubsidized: $34212
Unsubsidized: $27185UndergradSubsidized: $19891Unsubsidized: $23107
GradSubsidized: $14321Unsubsidized: $4078
Remaining Undergraduate Eligibility
Go to the “Update Incoming Aggregates” screen in PeopleSoft. Select the override box to make changes to the current academic year
Exclude graduate loans in aggregate totals so that the student is awarded accurately
Determine Remaining Eligibility
Undergraduate Aggregate LimitSubsidized: $23000
Unsubsidized: $34500
Undergraduate Totals Remaining EligibilitySubsidized: $19891 Subsidized: $3109Unsubsidized: $23107 Unsubsidized $11393
Determine Remaining Eligibility (continued)
*Because the student is close to their total lifetime aggregate total we need to ensure that awarding them what they appear to have remaining as an undergraduate will not place them over their lifetime aggregate totals.
Total Lifetime Aggregate LimitSubsidized: $65500
Unsubsidized: $73000Undergraduate/Graduate Totals Remaining Lifetime EligibilitySubsidized: $34212 $138500 - $34212 - $27185 Unsubsidized: $27185 = $77103 *Total Lifetime Remaining Eligibility exceeds determined undergraduate eligibility so we do not need to inflate aggregate totals to prevent awarding over total lifetime aggregate
No Remaining Undergraduate Eligibility
▪ If you determine that the student has reached their undergraduate total aggregate limit of $57500 you will need to update incoming aggregates to reflect the appropriate subsidized and unsubsidized loan totals
No Remaining Undergraduate Eligibility (continued)
▪ Go to “View Packaging Status Summary” screen and update ”Aid Processing Status” to ”Packaging Complete” in order to ensure that the student is not awarded aid that they are not eligible for.
Compose Counseling MessageNo Remaining Eligibility
▪ If student has no undergraduate eligibility remaining you will need to send communication to the student advising them.
▪ Go to “Compose Counseling Message” screen and enter student’s Empl ID
▪ Choose “Reached Aggregate Limit” from the Loans Category and click on the “+”
▪ Click “Create Communication”
Special Scenario
▪ If it is determined that the remaining lifetime aggregate eligibility is less than the remaining undergraduate eligibility that was determined then you must artificially inflate the ”Update Incoming Aggregate” screen so that you don’t award over the lifetime aggregate total.
