POST LESSON REVIEW (PRIMARY)

Date: November 18, 2015 Subject: Play Time Time: 20 minutes

Evaluation of teaching – Post – Lesson Review

Strengths

The students were very excited about using the Bee Bot (once they had made it to the table) as evidenced by the cheers and smiles exhibited after successfully reaching a shape

Each time I did the lesson, I was able to improve a little bit in how I gave directions

Areas for further development

More proactively counting out each of the steps that the Bee Bot will take, not relying so much on the students being able to do this themselves (but realizing that they may not always need such explicit instruction either)

What are the implications for your future teaching and pupil learning

In the future, I need to keep in mind exactly what the students are capable of and not always expect so much from them. Several of the students did not seem to understand the direction the Bee Bot needed to travel in as well as the number of steps that it would take. Therefore, I need to make sure to only focus on a single topic area rather than trying to combine too many things into a single lesson, especially considering how short I met with each group.
