SCOPE
1.1 This test willbe performed in two sections: Section 1 consists of pressurizing the linedownstream of FVC-253, Reactor Coolant Drain Tank Pumps Discharge IsolationValve, to approximately 275 psig and verifying that the modified ball valve will relievethe pressure to the upstream side of the valve.
1.2 Section 2 willperform the same test on FCV-500, Contaimnent Structure and ReactorCavity Sump Pumps Discharge Line Isolation Valve.
DISCUSSION
2.1 During post accident conditions, two containment peoetrations, 49 and 50 (line 749 andline 3729 respectively) were identified where liquid could be trapped between theclosed containment isolation valves with no pressure relief provisions. DCP P-50371addresses this problem by providing a pressure relief hole in the ball of FCV-253 andFCV-500. This pressure relief hole willallow the higher pressure occurring in thedownstream side of FCV-253 and FCV-500 to relieve to their lower pressure upstreamside.
RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Test Coordinator is responsible for the performance and coordination of all supportactivities for this test.
DCP Sponsor is responsible for technical review of this procedure.
Shift Foreman (SFM), is responsible for assigning Operations Personnel to assist inoperation of plant equipment associated with this procedure.
3.4 Mechanical Maintenance Department for assigning qualified personnel to assist insetting up and operating the hydro equipment.
PLANTOPERATION MODES
4.1 This test procedure may be performed in MODE 5 and in MODE 6 with no corealterations in progress.
