Spring is upon us, and it’s time to consider a little spring cleaning! Think about some of the updates that you would like to make on your postcard com-munications. Do winter images still apply? Are any offers nearing their expiration date?

Spring is also the season for National Car Care Month. The Car Care Council designates April (in Canada it’s May) as National Car Care Month. You may use the opportunity to promote this fact, and encourage your customers to come into your shop and perform services that they have been neglecting. Have you made any changes to your shop in the last year? Are your website coupons expired? Do you have any new staff mem-bers? Tell your cus-tomers! Go to your MechanicNet website and see if you need to make any changes to reflect the changes made in your shop.

Take this time to update your photos (if you don’t have any, now is a good time to take some) rewrite your text or send us your new logo or new coupon or expiration date. Re-member that you may use your website to add links, additional logos, and pictures of your shop. Above all, your website is a great tool to welcome your cus-tomers and make them aware of your shops history, showcase the pride and expertise you put into your work, and highlight additional services customers may not be aware you provide.

Keep in mind that one way to let customers know about services available is to promote. Be sure to up-date your promotions page as frequently as possible. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to add

a coupon or discount, the promotions page is a great way to promote the services you provide and encour-age customers to check in with you first before mak-ing major decisions on their automotive needs. Keep in mind that in addition to adding an offer to your promotion page, you may also use the opportunity to send this offer to all customers with an email address on file.

Also new, choose a pre-designed promotion to add to your promotions page on your website. Just email the code for the promotion you would like and within two business days it will be added to your website. (Timeline is subject to change with customizations. Call customer support for details)

We really encourage these tips that help keep your site as fresh as possible. Don’t be afraid to show off your shop!

How do I send a promotion to my email customers?

MechanicNet has a great tool called the Promotion Manager (lo-cated on MyShop). It allows you to send ePromotions to all your email customers. The Promotion Manager has four simple steps to guide you in creating your unique email promotion. The first step is to choose the type of promotion, i.e. coupon, newsletter, or custom. Second, pick the target customers you’d like to receive the email by selecting from the options given. Third, add the content, messages, and graphics. Finally, view what you have cre-ated and send. If you would like a more detailed training on how to send ePromotions you can attend the Advanced Training class held every month. (see attached calendar for the schedule)
