Award This is included to engage the audience as having an award will make the film seem higher quality and more reputable which will therefore encourage people to see it. I have put what the award is and the fact that the film won it rather than being nominated at the top with who the award is from slightly smaller underneath. Review By having a star rating, the audience will also be encouraged to go see the film as someone else has recommended it and said it is good rather and it is also professional opinion. I included who the review is from as Empire is a reputable magazine. I included a quote as well as it tells the audience more about the film and its narrative. This also corresponds with the caption in our trailer Tagline I included a tagline as it tells the audience more about the film without giving away too much. It also steers them in the correct direction for the genre, especially when paired with the image. The tagline is the same as the captions in our trailer. I have also positioned it above the title so that it reads correctly and doesn’t look as out of place as it did on my initial designs. Image I have decided to use this image for my final cover as it shows the location and characters well, giving an accurate representation of the entire film. There are also bottles scattered around the characters which tells the audience more about the film’s narrative and what genre the film is from. Age Certificate I didn’t want the age certificate to be too prominent as I didn’t want it to be such a big focus like it is on DVD covers. Therefore, I have positioned it smaller and after the title where it is still visible and people will see it when they read the title. This also tells people who the audience for the film is. Title The title is the biggest part of the poster, as well as the image, which is why I positioned it in the middle as the eye then looks up and sees the image and reviews/awards. The title will also look the same as it did in the trailer to show brand continuity and relation to the trailer. Cast I have only included the main actress’s name as it is clear from the image who is the main character and therefore star as she is the only one making direct eye contact with the camera. As she is an unknown and new actress people will therefore want to know who she is and will be able to find out by me including her name under the title. Director I phrased it as ‘A Film By…’ as it sounds better than saying ‘Directed By…’. As the directors are also not well known, people can find out who the film is by and will be intrigued as the film has such good reviews with new directors and stars. Release Date I have included the release date so that the audience know when the film comes out and can go and see it as they know more information about when they can see it. I have positioned it at the bottom as it is the convention of posters. I have also changed the date to match the date in Credit Block The credit block is a typical convention of film posters. Award This is included to engage the audience as having an award will make the film seem higher quality and more reputable which will therefore encourage people to see it. I have put what the award is and the fact that the film won it rather than being nominated at the top with who the award is from slightly smaller underneath.

ReviewBy having a star rating, the audience will also be encouraged to go see the film as someone else has recommended it and said it is good rather and it is also professional opinion. I included who the review is from as Empire is a reputable magazine. I included a quote as well as it tells the audience more about the film and its narrative. This also corresponds with the caption in our trailer

TaglineI included a tagline as it tells the audience more about the film without giving away too much. It also steers them in the correct direction for the genre, especially when paired with the image. The tagline is the same as the captions in our trailer. I have also positioned it above the title so that it reads correctly and doesn’t look as out of place as it did on my initial designs.

ImageI have decided to use this image for my final cover as it shows the location and characters well, giving an accurate representation of the entire film. There are also bottles scattered around the characters which tells the audience more about the film’s narrative and what genre the film is from. Age CertificateI didn’t want the age certificate to be too prominent as I didn’t want it to be such a big focus like it is on DVD covers. Therefore, I have positioned it smaller and after the title where it is still visible and people will see it when they read the title. This also tells people who the audience for the film is.

TitleThe title is the biggest part of the poster, as well as the image, which is why I positioned it in the middle as the eye then looks up and sees the image and reviews/awards. The title will also look the same as it did in the trailer to show brand continuity and relation to the trailer. CastI have only included the main actress’s name as it is clear from the image who is the main character and therefore star as she is the only one making direct eye contact with the camera. As she is an unknown and new actress people will therefore want to know who she is and will be able to find out by me including her name under the title.

DirectorI phrased it as ‘A Film By…’ as it sounds better than saying ‘Directed By…’. As the directors are also not well known, people can find out who the film is by and will be intrigued as the film has such good reviews with new directors and stars.

Release DateI have included the release date so that the audience know when the film comes out and can go and see it as they know more information about when they can see it. I have positioned it at the bottom as it is the convention of posters. I have also changed the date to match the date in the trailer whereas on my designs I said it was June still but used the year rather than the day.

Credit BlockThe credit block is a typical convention of film posters. The audience are able to find out more about who is in the film and who produced the film in this section of the poster. I will also include images of the production and distribution companies here.

ConvergenceThe website link for the film is a typical convention of posters. I have included this as it allows the audience to find out more about the film as the trailer, release dates and cinemas as well as exclusive clips which engage the audience more and encourage them to find out more about the film and also go see it.
