TECHNOLOGIES USED IN PHOTOSHOP
For our documentary we decided to use a Cannon HD
camera to get the best quality possible. This camera was
good to use due to the settings we could do for example we
wanted to get a blurred background effect so we set
the focus so the camera would take a picture of a blurred
background.
CAMERA USED
This was the first time I was going to use a Cannon SLR
camera. The first picture I took was terrible so therefore I
decided to hand it to Gee who took the picture of Gallowtree
gate. After developing my skills on the day I took the picture of the police officer. This turned
out well and therefore I think I use the camera well. I have
attached one of the pictures we took with the camera that didn’t
go too well.
HOW WELL I USED THE CAMERA
To create the poster I decided to use Photoshop due to my skill level and the amount of tools available on Photoshop to
make a professional poster.
SOFTWARE
TOOLS USED IN PHOTOSHOP
Rectangular marquee tool
Magnetic lasso tool Quick Selection tool
Crop tool
Clone tool
Rubber tool
Text Tool
Color select
I think my final product was produced by using the
basic tools like the magnetic lasso tool. I think
the use of the magnetic lasso and quick selection
tool could have been better. The text seen on
the poster was all done by the text tool where I had to select the size, colour
and font type. I have attached an image of what an image looked like when I selected it to
edit it.

IMAGE ADJUSTMENTS
I think I really showed my skills in adjusting images on this poster. We took the pictures at about 10:00pm and therefore I needed to work on making the images brighter. The
main image I had to adjust was the police officer and me and Gee had to take many images till we finally got the lighting correct due to his
florescent jacket. On the side I have attached what the police officer
looked like when he wasn’t adjusted.

FILTERS
Honestly, I didn’t use any filters on my poster as I felt there was no need to due to the camera we had. I would have used a blurred filter if we used a digital camera
however because we used a SLR camera, we set it so
the focus would be perfect for purpose. Here is what a sketched filter would look
like on our poster.
