The Province of North Sulawesi is located in NorthernPeninsula of Sulawesi Island, and constitutes one of thethree (3) Provinces in Indonesia which located inNorthern part of Khatulistiwa Line (equator line),Two other Provinces are; South Sulawesi Province andAceh Province. On the geographical positionperspective, North Sulawesi Province is located between0.300 – 4.300 North Latitude and 1210-1270 EastLongitude.

November to April the West wind blows that brought rain on the north coast ,

while in May to October there is a change of dry southerly winds. The average

rainfall ranges from 2000-3000 mm per year, and the number of rainy days

between 90-139 days. Temperatures range from 20 0C - 32 0C.

THE POTENTIAL OF NATURAL RESOURCES

1. Plantation Crops

The main products of North Sulawesi areobtained from the estate crops orplantation, and play an important role, inwhich most of the people rely their liveson.Plantations that produce as coconut,cloves, nutmegs, vanillas, cocoas, etc.About 60% of the extent of plantation iscoconut estate crop processed either insmall or big scales so giving another nameof North Sulawesi known as land of theWaving Coconuts.

2. FISHERY

The sea around North Sulawesi contains avast and potential resources andeconomically processed to fulfill the localdemand of sea products, and for exports.Fish Catching techinque is done eitherusing modern equipments or traditionaltechnique.

There are so many kinds of fish found around the North Sulawesi sea, such as :tuna fish, cakalang, tongkol, lolosi, yellow tail fish; lobster, crab, turtle and seacucumber.Production of fisheries 244.541 ton and aquaculture 697.694 ton

3. MINING

Mining potentials are spreading evenly in cities andregencies in North Sulawesi :

Gold and Silver located in Sangihe, Talaud,Minahasa, Minahasa Utara, Minahasa Selatanand Bolaang Mongondow Regencies

Copper located in Bolaang Mongondow,Minahasa, Sangihe and Talaud regencies

Nickel and Titanium located in Sangihe andTalaud

Iron located in Minahasa regency Mangan located in Minahasa Regency Cement row material located in Bolaang

Mongondow Regency Iron Sand located in Sangihe. Talaud and

Minahasa Regencies Sulphur located in Tomohon City and Bolaang

Mongondow Regency.

4. TOURISM

North Sulawesi has many attractive tourist objects such as :

a. Bunaken National Sea Garden

Consist of Bunaken island , Manado Tua, Siladen, Nain and Mantehageislands, including the coastal areas of Molas, Meras, Tongkaina andTiwoho.

Rich with various forms and colors of the corals and underwater creaturesand fish species.

Others uniqueness are steep coral wall, caves, tunnels, cracks and curvesthat make it amazing.

One of active vulcano inNorth Sulawesi, located inthe middle of Tomohon city.1.580 M high from the sealevel.

Linow Lake is a colourfull lake atLahendong village. The watercolour is changing in to variouscolour : dark blue to turqoise,green to yellow, whenever hitsby the sunshines.

Located aboat 60 km fromManado or ± 29 km fromBitung. Consisting of a varietyof flora and fauna. Theendemic fauna found in thisreserve are Maleo bird, Anoa,Pigdeer, Cuscus, Harmed BillBird as well as other wildlifein habitants, path ways,observation tower and muchmore.

Lembeh, located in Bitung City, 1 houraway from Manado, has fast developeda reputation as being the place formuck. The sheltered straits form a kindof bottleneck in the surrounding sea.Best destination award 2017

To reach the island Sara'a, can bereached from Melonguane and Lirung,by motor boat. The trip to this island,can be reached about 15 minutes,along the sea which it about 500meters, a cruise line.

Tondano lake located at Minahasaregency is the largest lake inNorth Sulawesi. Surrounded bymountainous areas and neatlyenvironment. Water biking andfishing, and other recreationactivities could be done aroundthis lake. Sumaru Endo inRemboken Village is a goodspot as well to explored.

Located in Minahasa Regency, about 13 KM southern part of Manado City. Since 17 Century well known as a three points of waterfalls named TAHAPAN TELU .

l. Ancient Park Waruga

m. Bentenan Beach

Waruga Park is an ancient tomb madefrom stone located in SawanganVillage, Airmadidi. The oldest Warugawas built in 900 BC. The shapes is twopart separately which is the basicshape is cubes or rectangle and thetop with various carving accordingto the character or way of life of theperson who buried inside.

Located about 100 Km away fromManado City. This is spot wherepeople can swim and enjoyed thelong beach with beautiful sea view.In this area also you could find aSea Park with tremendous speciesof fishes and other biodiversity.

n. Jesus BlessingsMonument

Located in Manado City, CitralandResidence, 50 meter high above landlevel and 30 meter high for themonument itself and 20 meter for thesupporting steel. This monument isbecome an icon of Manado City, and itis the second highest in Asia amongother monument in the world.
