Thanksgiving is coming… California Humane Slaughter Act requires the “humane” handling and slaughter of poultry.   Poultry must have enough ventilation and room to move in its cage. “Humane” methods of slaughtering include: carbon dioxide and argon gas-induced anoxia; electrical stunning; electrocution to cardiac arrest; captive bolt (ostrich only); cervical dislocation; carotid artery severance; and decapitation.
