Introduction by Wade Taylor

The Lord is again about to appear, as we are in a time of

transition – the closing out of the Church Age and the

birthing of the Millennial Kingdom Age. Therefore, there is

a need for the “voice” of a present day John the Baptist.

Many in the church of our day are not listening for a

present word, but rather, are resting in the doctrinal

positions which they have been taught. Therefore, the Lord

is beginning to call apart those, who as John the Baptist,

will hear a “present word,” and who will recognize and

respond to the presence of the Lord, when He begins to

reveal Himself.

There is a “gathering” of those who are of like spirit;

those who are no longer satisfied with their present

spiritual attainments, and are seeking to go further. This is

not necessarily a call for us to leave our churches, but

rather to “come apart” into the presence of the Lord, to be

7

Page 8: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

trained to recognize the voice of the Lord. These are being

prepared to speak the “present word” that the Lord is

placing within them.

If you are hearing and responding to this call, first settle

the issue that you will be given a message to speak that

will not accord with the popular messages of our day. This

calling cost John his head.

For us to become this “end-time prophetic voice,” we

must abide in the presence of the Lord, and intently listen

for and respond to His voice. This requires a separation

from other voices, many of which are loud and demanding.

There is an acceleration of activity that affects us in every

aspect of our lives. The words of Jesus telling us that we

are to go into our “closets” and shut the door, so we can

pray in secret, has purpose and meaning today as never

before (Matthew 6:6).

Author's Introduction

God Hater

At seventeen years old, I was confronted by my

coworkers. I was working at a Catholic hospital. My

coworkers suggested that I stop blaspheming God and that

I might be in trouble with God or worse if I didn't stop. So

in my heated defense, I gathered as many of the half-

hearted and faithless-faithful to prove that there was no

God, for if there were, would He let me live if I said this...?

The following flow of hostility caused everyone in the

room to back up as they were sure the blasphemies, if

anything, deserved a well placed lightning bolt. It was not

just the words I uttered, but the amount of hatred and vile

communication spilling from one who would be best

conversing with mass murderers. Evil was manifest, and

God... did... nothing. Or so it seemed...

9

Page 10: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

This book is a true story of God's grace. It is about real

life encounters of how He worked in me and hopefully will

increase your perspective of how He wants to work in you.

What He has done for the saints of old and the r3adicals in

our midst, He desires to do in you. I hope this testimony

and instruction will help you to find all God has for you.

I include much of my testimony, not because I am

anything, but exactly the reverse. God called one of the

most worthless people in the world to manifest His glory.

My testimony may help you understand why I say some of

the things that I do. I have included teaching intertwined in

my testimony, so that if you are brave enough, you will

take this journey with me.

Chapter 1

The Real Gospel

Preacher John

Back in 1983, I stopped in for a steak dinner at a local

restaurant. I was rich by most standards, especially for a

23-year-old high school drop out. I drove a Porsche, ate

wherever I liked, traveled often, talked to London about the

next big deal, and enjoyed any drug or life experience I

wanted. My new waiter, John, was the happiest guy I ever

met, but John only made $2 an hour. What did he have that

was worth living for?

Drawn to this guy, I began to make regular visits to the

steak house just to be near this clowning waiter. I met

plenty of happy people but no one that exuded such joy and

contentment. In time, he invited me to his place to play

music. I thought we'd smoke drugs and party, so I said,

"Cool."

11

Page 12: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I felt terror when I met John's roommates on his front

porch that day. They used words like, "Praise God," and

"Hallelujah." Fight or flight set in, and I chose fight. For

the next two hours, it was my intellect against theirs. My

stories of tarot cards, mind control, astral travel, hypnosis

and world philosophy were met with the simple message

that Jesus died for my sins. I had never heard this message

before. And why should it matter? I liked my sins. Love

had nothing to do with it. Forgiveness? It was truth I

longed for.

Between the drugs and fog of the party life, much of my

spare time was spent learning. I wanted to know what truth

was. I studied everything I could get my hands on and was

pretty well versed in most world religions and the dark arts.

It seemed obvious I was winning the battle with these

Bible-thumpers as my reasons were flawless and their

message was far too simplistic. Then, I got in trouble by

asking,

12

Page 13: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

"So prove to me your God is real." As only proof

mattered, all the words in the world meant nothing. I said,

"I can leave my body, go next door, and tell you who is in

the other room. What can you do?"

John said, "Well, I can't leave my body, but I can speak

in tongues." I had heard of tongues, so I let him show me

tongues. I thought it was very cool. The language that

came out of his mouth was one of the most beautiful things

I had ever heard, but tongues versus astral travel - not so

good. I needed more than that, so I said, “Great. You've

got tongues, and I've got out-of-body experiences. How do

I know that Jesus is the ONLY way?”

John asked me if I really wanted to know the truth, and if

I did, he would pray for me and God would show it to me.

I agreed, he prayed, and the rest is almost unbelievable.

The Creator Speaks

The first of many miracles began right away. Never

13

Page 14: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

hearing this Jesus story before, “it” suddenly tracked me

down from everywhere I turned. I am not exaggerating

when I say everywhere. My boss started quoting from the

Bible, my mother bought me a Bible. She started going to

church and told me about this Jesus guy, and most of my

druggie friends did the same. My girlfriend suddenly felt

the need to tell me about Jesus and the Bible. It was so

common and so regular, that I had to consider this tongue-

talking guy's prayer was messing with my space, so I

decided to begin reading this little red Bible.

One night while taking a short break from playing

dungeons and dragons, I was reading the Bible when

suddenly, I saw the heavens opened up right there in my

living room. I saw the greatest man who ever lived dying

on a cross. The image so impacted me that I began to cry,

and then I got up from the game and ran outside. I tried to

shake it off, but the image stayed with me and I knew this

great sacrifice was done for me. I wept for forty-five

minutes for someone I had never met.

14

Page 15: Power of an Endless Life

Reading Contradictions

This Jesus guy was quite the character, but His words

were the most perplexing. I had studied every major

religion and the dark sides of mysticism, science,

philosophy, and psychology, as well as mind control

techniques. Though some of what He said matched my

studies, it was so different that I thought His words had to

be true or complete foolishness.

About a month after my first vision, the harassment of

friends and strangers hadn't stopped. One evening, I found

myself hiding away from others in the back of a van

reading these Jesus stories. Frustrated and confused, I

didn't understand the “die and you will live, turn the other

cheek guy.” In frustration, I cried out to the God of the

Book and said,

"If you are the God of this Book, and the God of this

Jesus, you can make yourself known. If you are not real,

then I quit. I'm not reading any more of this stuff!"

15

Page 16: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The van instantly filled with a wonderful, heavy and

frightening presence that made me want to hide. Yet, I

knew and felt that it was the very essence of Love. He

began to speak to me and embrace me. His voice was so

loud that I am pretty sure if someone else had been in the

van, they would have heard Him too. He told me I had

come to meet the one called “Truth,” and that He would

show me the truth I was longing for and even far more than

I could imagine. The cost for this was my life, a surrender.

"Give up all that you are and follow me, and I will show

you all things."

I said, "No... I can't."

With such love and forgiveness and acceptance, He said,

"You will."

I then fell asleep.

Hounded by Heaven

The words never stopped. People continued to invite me

to talk about God and invited me to church, and my

girlfriend seemed on a quest to convince me. No one knew

16

Page 17: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I had already met Him and was now in the wrestling match

of my life. The final battle came when my girlfriend took

my little red Bible, and in a wild attempt to convince me of

the truth, opened to the Book of Revelation where it said,

"FOREVER and EVER"

The world faded away but the words remained. The

voice of God spoke again, but this time with a new urgency

and sternness,

"This is your moment. You must decide right now to

surrender your life or not have this chance again." The

world faded back in. I stood up silently and left the

girlfriend sitting alone. I walked to the bathroom where I

fell on my knees and wept, offered my miserable life to

Him, and vowed I would do what I could to obey and

follow.

The next few weeks were a wild ride of joy and freedom.

My hatred for humanity immediately disappeared. My

addictions to almost everything fell off. I desired only to

learn more about this Jesus and the life He made available

17

Page 18: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

to us all. My very first prayer was one of request. I asked

for Bibles. I wanted to learn all I could, so I quit my job

and took a break from life while I slept on a mattress on the

floor of my mother's little house and began to read. Within

two weeks and without buying a single copy, I had about

thirty translations of the Bible. They came from

everywhere.

The voice of God was amazing - from little whispers to

revelations of the scriptures - I was cocooned in His

presence. I experienced more freedom and light than I had

ever imagined possible. Those who were part of the horde

of gospel preachers suddenly had no interest in these

things. I was now the one telling them about a “Living

Jesus and a God who will free you, talk to you, and live

with you every moment of the day.”

The Gospel is the Power

In countries where the cost of faith can mean your very

18

Page 19: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

life, the growth and fruitfulness of the believer over there is

far more evident than here in America. In many places, the

American church is considered a cult due to its watered

down version of the truth made palatable by tradition and

preachers who want more conversions than disciples.

Americanized Christianity is, in most places,

regurgitated tradition and culturally modified truth -

changing only the doctrines - selling salvation all the while.

In most cases, Americans are not hearing the truth. The

lack of passion, fruit, glory and freedom is evident in their

lives.

Paul exhorted his generation to examine themselves to

see if they were in the faith. Examine your life to see if you

are passionate for Christ. Are you receiving the basic

promises of Jesus like hearing God's voice, being

transformed into a son, and being led in the path of

righteousness and a glory-to-glory life?

19

Page 20: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

If not, go back to the watered down version of the gospel

you received, throw it out, and find a place of radical

surrender to the will of God. Commit to praying until you

find Him. Obey till you die.

Living Free

Jesus at a Pot Party

About a week after finding God, I was over at a friend's

house with my Bible, when she rolled a joint and lit it. We

were talking about God as she passed me some marijuana.

Without thinking twice, I grabbed it and took some and

handed it back. Again, she took a hit and passed it back to

me. Reading from the Bible and taking a second hit, I felt

the presence of God lift off my life. I knew He was not

pleased. He didn't say anything, but I knew.

The buzz I was feeling from the pot was nothing

compared to the high I felt from His presence, so I was

immediately afraid. I couldn't lose Him. I got up and

walked home, all the while repenting and asking for Him to

return. He did, and I stopped.

21

Page 22: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I would sit at my friend's house while they all smoked

pot. Sitting in the circle amongst them with my Bible open,

I'd tell them all I was learning while passing the joint over

to the next person when it got to me.

My girlfriend didn't like my version of the Gospel as it

caused me to want to serve God completely and be holy.

She left, but I didn't mind.

I never got the impression that my friends were avoiding

me or upset at my stories. I was not trying to get people to

join a church or get money from them. My intentions were

obvious - I cared for them. They couldn't help but want to

be around such a lover of God and a lover of people. I was

a bit surprised later as I looked back, I almost never had

issue with the un-churched when talking about God. It was

the church folk who would object to this Jesus, but more

about that later.

22

Page 23: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Prophetic Evangelism

I had the strongest urge to tell everyone I met about this

wild new life. I felt this inner feeling to get a bus ticket and

just ride the bus and let God bring the people to me. I don't

remember most of the people I have shared the good news

with as there have been so many, but I do remember the

first stranger. I sat at the back of an almost empty bus,

when a man got on and instead of finding a seat away from

me, he came over and sat next to me. I knew he was there

to hear from God. I turned to this 6' 2" man in his late

twenties and proceeded to tell him about his life. I told him

about how my Jesus had a plan for him and that he was

running from God. He began to weep. He said he knew I

was sent from God, and then he turned his life back to God

right there on the spot. I never saw him again. The

experience of prophesying to a stranger was so exciting! I

never stopped; I was addicted to the experience

immediately and could not let a person go past my path

unless I told them about this glorious Jesus.

23

Page 24: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I was so dedicated to this new life I would never talk

about anything else, EVER. If people would start a

conversation about something else, I would politely leave

the room. If anyone was listening to music that was not

glorifying God, I would leave. I would not watch TV or

read anything but the Bible or christian literature. I didn't

have a doctrinal position on it or a holier-than-thou

attitude. I just didn't want to waste a second of my life not

being in His presence and not building His kingdom.

Jesus Loves the Sinner

When you first believed, God was not mad at you, did

not poke at your sin and did not condemn you for

weakness. God poured out His wrath on Christ at the cross

so that there would be none left for you. When we talk to

others about this glorious life, even though there are

standards to holiness and to deep abiding fellowship, the

first step is to accept God's grace and forgiveness. Offer

this, proclaim this, and live as if God has no more wrath

and that it really is poured out.

Chapter 3

Warring With Tradition

My First Church

I was walking with God for almost a month when the

idea came to me that maybe I should go to church where I

would find other people who had met Jesus and it would be

wild to talk to them about their experiences. So off I went

to "Exciting Tulsa Baptist Church" or something like that. I

went in so very excited to hear the scriptures and to meet

other family members. Because the word, "Exciting" was

in their name, they had to know the Jesus I knew, right?

I sat down and after listening to some music they called

worship, this preacher gets up and starts talking about stuff

in the Bible. I strained for 35 minutes to hear about my

King or about this life or about the love of God based on

encounter and revelation of the truth, but I could not. I

thought maybe the preacher was having a bad day. After

25

Page 26: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

the message, I went to stand out in the hall and make

contact with others. It was worse out there. The people

were distracted and preoccupied. I didn't see a single

person with the light of God on them. They had no life, no

joy, and no fire. I was so very sad.

That day in my ignorance, I concluded that God must be

starting over, that maybe there were no real believers, and

that I was the first one! I was not proud or arrogant about it

at all, but kind of sincere and humbled by the thought. God

and I had a lot of people to tell, so we had better get

started.

My Second Church

Well as it turned out, I was not the first believer, but it

took me some time to find a second one. I made as many

believers as I could along the way. I preached, told, wrote

the gospel out on napkins for waiters, and left big tips so

they would read them. I was praying with people, leading

them all to the cross, and sharing the gospel of “death and

surrender” long before I heard there was an easier version

26

Page 27: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

like sneaking your hand up in the back of a church and

praying a little prayer while everyone's eyes are closed.

I would meet people who said they were "Christian," but

it seemed they wanted to talk about their church or some

doctrine or a preacher's message they had heard. If I tried

to talk to most of these Christians about my Jesus, they

were offended. I later figured out why, but in the beginning

this perplexed me.

One of the people who became a Christian from our

talks and praying came to me one day to tell me about a

church she visited. "They are jumping and running and

shouting. They are so excited about Jesus. They sound like

you. You've got to come!" Now this sounded promising, so

off we went.

I was in little saved boy heaven! The music was loud, the

preaching was about Jesus, and they were doing all kinds

of God stuff right out in the open! I met my first real

believer there. Her name was Martha Rae. If Jesus told her

27

Page 28: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

to do anything, she would do it. She harbored no malice,

gave everything she had to help others, prayed all the time,

and loved the Scriptures. Jesus was her best friend. Martha

was about 70 years old and radiated a glow all around her.

You could make her cry just by talking about Jesus. She

helped me a lot and encouraged me to know there were

others who would do anything for the King.

Initially, I admired many of the leaders at the church as

they seemed to be very excited about God, were very good

teachers, and were very knowledgeable about the

Scriptures. But, what I came to find out is there is a huge

difference between the gift and the man. A life connected

to Jesus, breathing in His will, has far more reward than a

gifted man who is not yet surrendered to the cross.

Come to find out, this preacher was sleeping with his co-

pastor's wife. The man was living a lifestyle of lies and sin

abounded in so many areas of his life and yet he preached

this amazing gifted message of the Christ. He preached the

Jesus I knew, but did not know Him. Amazing how it

28

Page 29: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

seemed the same - the gift in a man and the fruit of a life

given. So many congregants in his church were ever-

learning but never coming to the radical saving touch of the

Master.

The Gift vs The Man

We have all witnessed or heard the horror stories of

ministers whose lives were in chaos while externally their

ministries seemed to have powerful results and the

anointing of God. Once a man in this condition is revealed

to the church, many in the church go astray and become

devastated by feeling deceived, and wonder, “If this man

can't make it, how can I?"

We need to understand the truth about the gift of God,

why God would permit such things from such imperfect

vessels, and how we can learn from this and stand on a

more sure foundation.

When a pastor friend of mine stands behind the pulpit, it

29

Page 30: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

is obvious to all his giftedness and calling. He preaches

with conviction and prophetic revelation, but outside the

pulpit he is struggling to hear from God and almost sounds

insane in the defense of his lifestyle and lack of personal

growth. It is common for the gift to far exceed the personal

walk of the man. It is the nature of a “gift” of ministry.

The minister needs the revelation of the gift just as much

as those around him. He is also responsible to surrender to

the words he is speaking just as much as the other hearers,

lest he be guilty of being a hearer and not a doer of the

Word. Only when we hear the Word and let it change us,

will we change into the image of that word. Only then can

we become the fruit of that Word instead of just carrying

the Word.

This is why a mature believer will be able to “do the

ministry” of teacher, pastor, evangelist, etc. For as the

believer is around these gifts of ministry, and applies a life

of obedience and prayer to the words, he becomes those

things that he hears and sees.

30

Page 31: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

And he gave some, apostles; and some,

prophets; and some, evangelists; and some,

pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the

saints, for the work of the ministry, for the

edifying of the body of Christ:

Ephesians 4:11-12

The gift of Pastor is given to men including the man it

resides in. It is possible for the greatest of gifts to return to

the Father and the vessel of the gift hear these words, "Yes,

you have done great things, but I never knew you; depart

from me you worker of iniquity." More about this in the

Chapter called, Two Trees.

Chapter 4

Open Heavens

Filled

One day I was talking to my friend Martha and she

asked,

"Do you speak in tongues?"

I said, "No, but I'd like to speak in tongues. It seems so

cool".

She said, "Well, it is obvious to me you are already filled

with the Spirit, so you can just go ahead and do it. Just

open your mouth and speak in the Spirit."

I had no idea what she was talking about and the thought

of faking up a language on the spot was more than I was

willing to do. She perceived my struggle and made a wise

suggestion,

"Go home, get with God and speak to Him. He will give

you the words."

33

Page 34: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Off I went as fast as I could to see what God would do. I

don't know why I thought God would be closer in the

shower, but I think it had to do with me hearing that the

Spirit of God was like rivers of living water. So I got in the

shower and asked God to fill me and give me this heavenly

language. BAM! Tongues of a new language popped out of

my mouth so hard I could have broken something. It was

so shocking, I began to laugh. Then more tongues, and then

more laughter. It seemed like the funniest thing I had ever

done! Tongues were not just a language but a power burst.

It was like drinking ten cups of coffee, but only better.

Hunger like a Crazy Man

I got dressed, got in my van, and drove around for hours

speaking in this new tongue. I didn't stop for days. Three

days of praying in tongues made my tongue swell in my

mouth so big I could barely use it. But I kept praying till

the swelling went down. I was reading the Scriptures like

the hungriest man alive, praying in the spirit, and then, my

first demonic attack came since my salvation.

34

Page 35: Power of an Endless Life

The Enemy Comes

The enemy came to steal the Word of God living in me.

It was a voice as clear as the voice of God, but sinister.

Accusing. Mocking. “You remember the day you cursed

God when you were seventeen? You committed the

unforgivable sin. These last few days were a taste of what

you could have had, but God will never forgive you for

blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. You will now have it all

taken away and you will live the rest of your life knowing

the punishment of God's judgment.”

“No! It can't be. But I did. And I deserve death. No!

God! No!” My heart was broken at the possibility. I was

alone. I can't live without God! I cried out so loud you

would have thought I was really going to die. I cried for a

long time asking for God to kill me or talk to me. After far

too much time, I settled down and the voice of God

returned. He showed me the scene in question, my hatred

and my mocking of God, and said,

35

Page 36: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

“You see that kid, that angry little person? I loved you

then.” God was not mad at me.

Crazy Love

This was my first glimpse into His heart toward all the

angry, deceived people of the world. He has no anger left

for humanity as He poured it all out on Jesus. There is a

Father/Creator who wants us all back, all to return, and our

sin is not the issue.

I began to fall in love with people, and to serve and love

them as much as I could to help them become all God

wanted for them. My transformation was so extreme that

my entire family started going to church. I was so evil

before I met God, but now I became one who would weep

openly for people and pray all the time. I never struck back

nor spoke evil of anyone. The transformation from hater of

men to one who would die for a stranger is the true sign of

being filled with the Holy Spirit, not tongues. Romans 5:5

36

Page 37: Power of an Endless Life

Freedom Overtakes Me

I have now become possessed of God. Habitual and

continual in my pursuit, asking Him continually for

correction and growth. Living in a state of continual

repentance, making sure I did nothing to offend Him, and if

I do offend, to cry out for strength, mercy and forgiveness

to never do it again.

I was addicted to speed, marijuana, pornography, anger,

and nicotine - they all fell off except one, cigarettes. I was

so free from those things and I never felt tempted to touch

them. However, for some unknown reason, cigarettes were

a crazy stronghold for me.

I prayed continually, and if I was not talking, I was

praying. I was always muttering prayers under my breath

so those around me wouldn't think I was too crazy.

37

Page 38: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Righteousness, Peace and Joy

I can honestly say I never worried about a thing:

finances, people thinking bad of me, or what the future

would bring, as my new Best Buddy created everything

and how could it turn out bad as long as we were buds.

For a person who never cried and almost never laughed,

my life was filled with both. I never knew joy and now that

it was here, I wanted everyone to have it. Intercession and

deep prayer for those I knew and those God put on my

heart to pray for were regular and daily. The feeling of

spiritual superiority or pride never entered into my

emotions as the grace of His forgiveness kept me humble

and broken.

Chapter 5

Visitations

After a couple of months of prayer and “God-voice”, I

found myself with a following. Disciples and hungry

hearts always wanting to know what God was saying.

Many of my new friends were local Bible college students

who would go to school all day and hang out with me all

night. We would pray and wrestle Scripture and preach the

gospel. We found a little church that was open all night, so

we would gather and pray there. The voice of God and

angels would be a nightly adventure. Spontaneous worship,

repentance, and more hunger were a constant in our lives.

My first visitation came like a tornado. I felt Him so

close all the time, but the build up of hunger and meeting

39

Page 40: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

was increasing daily. My prayer times would often bring

me to the place I can only call "pain". As He drew near, my

body and soul would hurt. It was like my molecules were

being taken apart. It hurt so bad that I always backed up. I

now wish I would have kept going to see if I would have

died or if He would have backed up.

A group of friends and I visited a little church one

Wednesday night and I was hoping for more of Him.

Anything more was ok with me, just as long as it was

more. Before, during, and after the service, my friends

were all having a good time laughing, joking, and talking

about their day while I was pressing into prayer to see

more. The laughter in my crowd continued and the overall

atmosphere in the church was casual and regular. It

seemed to me that no one knew what could be if we just

sought Him. Worship was non-emotional and the leaders

also just seemed to be going through the motions. It

grieved me.

Then it happened! The whole world faded to smoke and

40

Page 41: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

the front of the church building turned into a set of huge

thirty-foot tall wooden doors. When they swung open, a

bright light came down from heaven and lit the ground.

The entire place that I was now in was illuminated by the

glory of the Light. Jesus appeared standing in the doorway.

His face shone brighter than the sun, so it was not possible

to make out His features.

He had His arms stretched out and I could see the

wounds on His hands. Before He spoke, I felt His heart

and it shocked me. I was feeling the burden for God's

people. The burden that was in His heart was grief and

sorrow for the lack of pursuing God. And then He spoke to

me,

"My people are far from Me. I have told them but they

still don't know how much I have for them and how much

they are missing by not seeking after Me. I died to give

them all things, but they settle for earthly things. Call after

Me and I will show you the kingdom. Seek me with your

whole heart and you WILL find Me."

41

Page 42: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

My words are nothing like the words that Jesus spoke. I

not only understood the meaning, but I felt His heart and it

was almost more than I could handle experiencing the

feelings of God. Who knew Jesus was so passionate?

The earth faded back in and I was alone. The presence of

God makes you separate in so many ways I cannot explain

(not better, not more powerful). It is only hearing that

separates. I tried to tell one of my friends on the way out

that Jesus was here, but I could not talk and he could not

hear. I followed the group as we went to a pizza place just

down the road. My heart was still in grief and glory

because I carried the weight of His words. I was silent as

they ordered, silent as the cokes were placed on the table,

and weeping still. One of my friends, John, asked,

“Are you ok?”

I looked at John unable to speak and he knew. He called

the group around and said,

“Bill has something to say. I think He saw Jesus.”

42

Page 43: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I recounted my story as the pizza arrived at the table.

Now all eyes were crying and God's presence was so

strong we knew we could not eat. We left and went to the

24 hour prayer church where we worshiped God, repented

for our laziness and mediocrity, and sought Him. It was an

amazing time of visitation for us all.

So far in my story I am still about 3-4 months old in the

Lord. My understanding of Scripture and the weight of His

presence carried me daily. I took a job as a busboy at the

same steak house restaurant, so that I could be close to my

waiter-buddy John, who was now one of my best friends.

So much was happening, I understood when the Bible

talked about if everything Jesus did was written, there

would not be room to hold all the books. God's continual

presence and voice led me in all things.

Prophecy Like a River

If I was not praying or reading the scriptures, I was on

the streets telling strangers about God. It was so amazing

43

Page 44: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

how much love I felt from the Father as I talked about

Him. I was also amazed at how much people loved to hear

the message. Though there were a few times that I did have

my life threatened by the demon-possessed and the

occasional drunk, I was unafraid and loved everyone.

I met other radical street preachers who let me carry a 12

foot cross at heavy metal concerts and introduced me to

these things called tracts; little Gospel messages pre-

printed on paper – wow, what concept! My life wasn't a

formula; it was a walk. God would lead me to those He

wanted and gave me the words to tell them. It wasn't about

converting people; it was about obeying God, loving

people, and proclaiming the Kingdom. The prophecies and

words of knowledge were so regular I don't know how

anyone could counsel or teach or preach without His "now

Word". I relied on God completely. I knew nothing and He

knew everything.

44

Chapter 6

The Book is Alive

The Scriptures Are Not as They Seem

I was not trained by American Churchianity on how to

obey the Book or to scripturalize my life. I was saved from

this in the school of His presence. God showed me how the

writers of the letters in the Bible were all dialogs of

encounter. Each one seeing the Creator and interacting with

Him in different ways, all of them opening up the

revelation of God's glory so we would follow hard after

God.

I found most "believers" were still using the Bible like

the Old Covenant Pharisee, trying to apply truths to their

lives to please God, obeying a Book instead of meeting the

Writer and Author of their lives. I had, and still have, such

a hard time explaining this to the indoctrinated.

45

Page 46: Power of an Endless Life

Lost Like We

I visited a mega church well known for its excitement,

growth and preaching of the Gospel. I told some of its

young adult members about my God-encounters. I shared

about Jesus, His power, and His presence, but the reply

from a young man was,

"I remember those days. That's called the honeymoon

period. Don't worry, in a few months it will wear off and

you'll be just like us."

I almost began to cry, He could not have said a worse

thing to me. I said in my heart something like,

"I will never be like you,” and I walked out. My prayer to

the Father was to keep me and to never let me grow so cold

and so religious. Little did I know how true that young

man's words would become.

46

Page 47: Power of an Endless Life

Flattery: The Seeds of Pride

One evening during one of our nightly Bible studies, I

was sharing with the group all the things God was

downloading to me from heaven as the Scriptures were

more alive to me than you can imagine. As I was talking,

one of the people said,

“You know, we have been going to Bible school for

years now, and none of our teachers say the things you

say.”

The comment was meant as an encouragement, but my

heart took it and became proud. I didn't know it was a seed,

and I didn't know how much power pride had to kill me. If

I would have known at that moment, I would have rejected

it and run from it, but I didn't and I am sorry.

Mardi Gras

I made some new friends preaching on the streets who

loved sharing the gospel as much as I did. We brought our

twelve-foot cross and bull horn with us. Some of the guys

47

Page 48: Power of an Endless Life

would carry a coffin and someone else would jump out of

it and start preaching from the grave. We could feel God as

we talked and saw so many people touched, healed, and

saved from depression and darkness. I loved the streets.

One of them invited me to go with him to Mardi Gras to

preach on the streets with his group. I said I'd love to go

and began planning the trip. My Dad lived in New Orleans,

so, I called him and asked him if he could fly me down. He

said he would get me a ticket and I could just go to the

airport and get it on the day. He never bothered to tell me

he had no money and that he couldn't come up with any

before the time, so I showed up at the airport expecting a

ticket. However, the man at the counter said there was no

ticket. While my new buddies stood and watched, I told the

ticket agent that I was on a mission for God and I had to go

to New Orleans to save souls and preach the Gospel. He

pushed a few buttons on his computer and handed me a

round trip ticket.

48

Page 49: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Recognizing God's grace on the moment, I told him my

friends were also going and wondered if he could give

them free tickets too? He gave them refund vouchers and

new tickets as well. I was pretty excited, but by this time,

God's provision and grace were so common I was not that

surprised.

I had now quit my bus-boy job and moved in with a

Bible student. I wanted more time to preach the Gospel, but

I knew that I still needed a source of income. Earlier, I

prayed and asked the Lord for a specific kind of job,

“Lord, I only need $85 a week to survive and I'd love to

work in a place that lets me continue to preach your

salvation. A part-time job for a ministry or something

would be perfect.”

Sitting on my way to New Orleans, a tall man introduced

himself as the director of a street ministry. He told me how

he thought the free ticket thing at the counter was one of

the coolest things he'd ever seen. He asked me,

49

Page 50: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

"You wouldn't happen to know anyone who could work

for me running my printing press? I need someone part

time, but can only afford to pay $85 per week."

I smiled. Working for this ministry was one of the

greatest gifts God ever gave me.

Mardi Gras was going to be where I showed the devil

who was boss and go preach and get so many people saved

that the demons would know my name! With my pile of

tracts and the Holy Ghost, I went to make war with the

enemy.

Day one, I found myself in a crowd of tens of thousands

of people most of whom were making sounds and actions

of worship with hands raised to the masked faces on the

parade floats. The crowds were screaming for attention so

that the masked people would toss them beads and trinkets.

I stood and wept. I saw this was not just a parade, but a

mockery of humanity orchestrated to show God how

subjected His creation was to worshiping demons for

50

Page 51: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

worthless trinkets. I also saw how great the harvest was

and how little my pocket full of tracts were going to do to

turn the tide. I could do nothing but pray in humility.

All of us street preachers slept for free on the floor of a

local church. We ate food donated by the local church folk

and went out in shifts after much prayer and instruction by

those who had done this before. The masses were all

around, but I only focused on God's direction. I waited to

see who He would have me talk to and what He would

have me say.

I walked up to one very drunk group and started to talk

to them. One guy in particular was my focus, but his

friends decided they didn't want to hear any more. He

stayed and after I prophesied to him and prayed for him, he

sobered up right on the spot and turned his life back to

God. Many, many people got saved that week and it was a

testimony to the power of God, to prophetic evangelism

and to His love for the lost.

Chapter 7

A Prophetic Life

Life in God is supposed to be full of direction and voice.

As Paul declared, maturity in Christ is found in those who

are continually LED by the Spirit of God.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if

ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of

the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led

by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:13-14

We have for far too long looked to the current “hearing-

gifted” as the giants of the faith, not realizing that even

those who are “high prophetic voices” are still only hearing

at levels that we should all be hearing. There is coming a

day when all will hear so clearly from little children to old

53

Page 54: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

timers. No one will have to tell you, “God is talking,”

because you will know for yourself. But you don't have to

wait till it is common place - you can deny your flesh,

press into God, pray and hear God's voice now.

War with the Cults

Working for "World Shakers for Christ" was so much

fun as I had no boss to mess with me and I was left alone in

a room with a printing press to print gospel tracts.

I had some printshop experience, but when I got in the

room, I realized I had no idea how to use this type of

printing press. I immediately asked God for wisdom, and

He not only taught me how to print, but 30 days after I

began, the director said I was the best pressman he had

ever had. It really was a miracle to learn that fast.

Smoke Free

While I was still figuring out how to get free from

smoking, God never talked to me about it. I felt convicted

all the time and repented regularly for my weakness. I

54

Page 55: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

asked the Lord to take the cravings away. My deliverance

came through a TV preacher. As the preacher spoke, God

Spoke and bore witness with the words and the gift of

repentance was offered to me. I didn't know, but even

repentance requires God's initiation. As I put out my

cigarette, I knew I was free and I was no longer tempted to

smoke and had no withdrawals.

Overdose

I traveled to see a young seventeen-year-old preacher,

who was reportedly walking with God in such glory and

manifestation that God moved at every meeting. I had to

see one as hungry as me. Driving many miles to a little

church to hear this young man, we arrived early enough to

get front row seats. The place began to fill with hungry

hearts. I had never seen so many hungry young people

before and the room was electrified by it. The young

preacher took a chair and sat on the stage. He didn't stand

at all because he seemed to be under a spiritual weight or

cloak that was so heavy he couldn't carry it. As he spoke, it

was more like a 1,000 year old man than a boy of

55

Page 56: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

seventeen. His words cut through the room, touched hearts

and ignited even more hunger in the hearers. The young

preacher spoke of the reality of God's presence and God's

great love for us. The message was so filled with

possibility and promise because God was calling us to meet

with Him.

I was leaning forward expecting the manifestation of

God. I was “pulling,” which describes the level of hunger

and drawing from the gift in a minister or from the

presence of God. Pulling is kind of like what a little kid

does when he wants mom to buy him something from the

store. The child's concentration is unbroken, and he tugs on

mom's skirt until she gives in.

The young preacher's assistant stopped the meeting and

came over to me and told me to stop "pulling so hard". I

didn't know you could pull too hard and how did he know?

The preacher was nearing the end of his time and

announced if anyone wanted more of God to come up

front. I bolted to be first, but was sixth in line. I guess I

56

Page 57: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

wasn't the only one hungry for more. As he prayed for

people, they all fell to the ground. Now, I have seen people

courtesy-fall before, but I'm not sure I've ever seen people

really get knocked over by God. As it was my turn to step

up on stage, the preacher roared at me,

"STOP RIGHT THERE!"

The entire room seemed to hold its breath. The preacher

reached behind his head as if grabbing something and

threw it at me while yelling,

"OVERDOSE OF THE HOLY GHOST!"

Whatever it was, hit me like a car! I was thrown back

over the top of the crowd and was unconscious for what

people tell me was about twenty minutes. I woke up full

and free.

To tell you how free and how full would be impossible,

but I can say that I did not know the meaning of the word

freedom until that day. I ran to the back of the room and

57

Page 58: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

began to twirl and dance, even though there was no music.

I was the only one dancing and I didn't care. I never knew

the whole earth was filled with His glory until that

moment. There was a presence or glow around everything

and there was nothing in this world that did not manifest

His life. This was the beginning of three days of the most

miraculous walk in which I have ever known.

For three full days I could not sleep nor do I recall

eating. I would hear God's voice so clearly. It was clearer

than my own thoughts. I had such energy and inspiration to

serve the Lord, I believed I could be caught up like Enoch

at any moment. If I asked for it, it would happen. When

God directed me to do something, the manifestation of

healing or salvation, it would happen instantly. I would get

just as much revelation from the morning newspaper as

from the Bible. He was everywhere and in everything, and

for three days I felt alive and immortal. It wasn't that my

body couldn't be killed, but that I was now alive and my

body was of no consequence.

58

Page 59: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

It seemed clear to me that this inner life of abiding was

what Jesus paid for and that what I was doing was the

ultimate call of every believer. I began to understand that

life in God wasn't just about gifts, power, or manifestations

of His presence. The inner life of hearing and abiding

could have just as easily led me to poverty or

imprisonment for the sake of His name, and that life would

have been sufficient.

After three days of this glory, I was reading the book of

Hebrews and suddenly felt tired, so I laid down to nap. I

woke the next morning to the intensity of His glory being

gone. I cried and said,

"God, I don't want to live! I can't live without your

presence. I'd rather die than live blind again."

The Lord spoke to me saying that He had not left me and

that this place was a special taste of glory. He said that I

was not permitted to live in that place full-time right now. I

was so very homesick that until this day I understand Paul's

desire to depart this earth to be with Him. Compared to that

life, we are all blind beggars.

59

Page 60: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The Power of an Endless Life

Speaking of Jesus, the book of Hebrews says,

“...After the likeness of Melchizedek there

arises another priest, who is made, not after

the law of a carnal commandment, but after

the power of an endless life. For God testifies,

You are a priest forever after the order of

Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 7:15-17

Jesus was the first among men to resurrect into an

eternal life and ministry. Therefore, His ministry has

eternal consequences and fruitfulness. As it is written,

Jesus' ministry had only to be done once and forever the

price of sin was paid. His Words of life are the same, for

they carry the power and glory sufficient to save a man for

eternity.

The words that He speaks are not of reason or earthly

means, but from the same creative source that made us in

60

Page 61: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

the beginning. This is now your calling - to go and be the

voice of the Creator. With life and death in the power of

your tongue and in the deeds of your hands, we are

ambassadors of the eternal, following His command rather

than principles or doctrine. A new and living way to serve

and change men... forever.

Face to Face with God

Skipping ahead to about 6 months old in the Lord, I was

attending a local camp meeting with thousands of people

from all over the world. I was the chauffeur for all my

friends and some traveling visitors, one of which would

become my wife. We traveled back and forth to the

convention center three times a day for all the meetings,

but one meeting I will never forget.

During a time of preaching, a roar started in the crowd.

From the top left of the auditorium all the way across the

room, the roars carried a huge wave of sound. As the

presence of God struck the people, they would join into the

shout.

61

Page 62: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

When the wave hit me, I fell to my knees and was

immediately taken out of my body. I was swept into the

universe escorted by an angel and we moved so much

faster than anything I have ever heard of before. We passed

entire galaxies. Slowing down, we stopped at a doorway

that hung in the midst of the heavens and it seemed

illuminated from all sides and gave off its own light.

I approached the doorway and passed through. As soon

as I did, there was this thin sheet of blood that covered me

and seemed to wash my being. It was like the sheet of

blood went through all my parts and cleaned me out. I

seemed to know that sin was left behind and the enemies of

God could not come through this way. I was clean and free.

On the other side of the door, there was a throne. It is

impossible to explain the throne and what I saw. Whenever

I try to explain the throne, it makes no sense. I understood

why Daniel and John wrote their visions and used the word

“like” as often as they did because heavenly things are so

different and there are simply no words for them. All I can

62

Page 63: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

say is that the throne had no end, and seemed as if it had no

beginning, but reached us from somewhere unexplainable.

The One seated on the throne was the center of all things

and so filled with glory. His face shone so bright and had

no visible features. I could do nothing but fall on my face

in His presence. Even though I was clean and free from sin,

I was still not like Him. I could not stand.

My overwhelming desire to give Him something caused

me to look inward to see what I had that was worthy of this

One. I found in my heart a light. This light was exactly

like the light He was made of and I somehow offered it to

Him. As I lifted up my hands, I cried out with my voice

and offered Him the gift. The Light from my mouth struck

Him in the face and immediately I knew He was well-

pleased. He returned the gift, and from His heart He gave it

back but many times greater. I offered Him back the same

and we became a circle of Light. As He continued to pour

into me His light, I would offer it all right back to Him. I

experienced fellowship with God on such a deep level it

was as if I ceased to exist and yet “not” at the same time.

63

Page 64: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

After an unknown amount of time, I found myself back

in my body worshiping and singing out to the Lord. The

experience did not fade for some time even though the

vision was over. When I found my friends at the

convention, they said I was glowing and radiating a light. I

was not surprised, because I felt electrified.

The Wife

As full of God as I was, I had one earthly desire, which

was to have a godly wife with whom to share my

adventures. Almost every girl I met, I would ask the Lord

if this was the one, and almost immediately He would

answer, and I would no longer be distracted by the thought

or pursuit - until Maria. During a break in one of our camp

meeting sessions, the whole group went out for lunch.

While talking to her for the first time alone, we were

caught up in such glorious fellowship and conversation of

God and His Kingdom that we did not realize how long we

had been sitting. All of our friends left us at the mall food

court and returned to the camp meeting. Walking back, I

64

Page 65: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

asked her if she had ever considered marrying an

evangelist.

After a few more talks, she had to fly out early, so I

dropped her off at the airport. I already missed her. I asked

the Lord if she was the one and He said,

“Yes, you can marry this one.”

I wrote her five letters a day. I sent her Bibles and gifts.

Fifteen days later, I flew out to Ohio and proposed to her.

She said, “Yes”. We continued our talks by mail and by

phone. The rich times of fellowship, prophecy, prayer and

preaching the Kingdom became the foundation of our

relationship.

Miraculous Provision

Nine months later, we married. Returning to Tulsa, I

found out that the ministry I worked for was moving to

California. I now had a wife, an apartment, bills and soon a

baby on the way.

65

Page 66: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

It was a hard time balancing faith and responsibility. Up

until then, it was just me and God. Before marriage, I never

worried or wanted for anything.

There were times that we would find ourselves without

food, and suddenly someone would show up at our door

with groceries. One Sunday after church, Maria was

waiting for me to drive around and pick her up and two

ladies just walked up and handed her bags of groceries. I

started to keep a journal of all the miracles. The miracles

were becoming so regular that I had to stop writing them

down.

Faithful Tither

One of my favorite times was the tithe experience. One

Saturday afternoon, we received a gift of $200. This gift

was such a relief because Monday was our eviction notice

deadline. I told Maria I was going to give 10% of that

money as a tithe on the upcoming Sunday morning, to

which she replied,

“$180 is not $200, and we will still get evicted.” I

answered,

“I know, but I really have to tithe. If God can give us

$200, He sure can give us $20 more!”

So off we went completely in disagreement as to tithing.

Sunday morning arrived and the offering bucket came by. I

dropped the 10% into the bucket. The moment I let go of

the bucket, a lady sitting next to Maria handed her a tithe

envelope. The lady was going to place her tithe in the

offering bucket, but said,

“The Lord just told me I needed to give this to you

instead of putting it in the offering bucket.”

I knew without opening it how much money was in the

envelope, and I said to the Lord,

“Thanks for the $20.00 God, but if I tithe off the twenty

I'll still be two dollars short.”

Just as I finished praying, the same lady began to laugh

and said,

67

Page 68: Power of an Endless Life

“This is so embarrassing, but the Lord told me to give

you all my change, too.” She proceeded to empty her purse

and pour all of her change onto Maria's lap. I didn't count it

right there, but I was guessing it was $2.22.

Chapter 8

The Fall From Glory

The first few months of married life was hard, but full of

God. Miraculous provision, prayer, and faith. I took a job

and we joined a church. I was always faithful to tithe, went

to all the services, participated in children's ministry.

I was an usher, church photographer, and a childcare

worker. We began to look like the rest of the crowd.

Faithful. Nice. Dead.

It happened so fast. I was externally doing all the stuff,

reading my Bible, and listening to all the sermons. We

went to all the meetings. But within six months, I found

myself sitting on the front row of one of the biggest

churches in the world. I stood at the front and as the

worship music played I wept, not like I used to weep as His

presence touched me and convicted me and changed me,

but as one who could no longer hear His voice. I was

69

Page 70: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

powerless against anger and sin, and the love of God was

fading.

I was not alone in my condition, but I was alone in my

sorrow. My condition was the condition of almost everyone

I met in the church; they just didn't know how sad it was.

I was making all the right confessions and staying away

from all the bad things, casting down the bad thoughts and

doing all the “do” the church said we should.

Faithful God

In the ten years that followed, God continued to be

faithful. There still was miraculous provision in our life.

The things we learned and the things we saw, proclaimed

the glory of God. But mostly it was the God of a hard-

hearted people who would trust Him for needs, but not

meet Him in heaven.

70

Page 71: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

We heard His voice from a place of giftedness. We bore

the fruit from a life dedicated to serving and had a ministry

where people looked up to us in many areas. But the

power from a relationship with God was gone and the fruit

of a broken and contrite heart was so far away I had no

idea how to get back.

The Way Back Home

My journey back began with hearing a forty-five second

prayer from a man named Stan. He was a minister who

returned to the States and was invited to pray over the

offering of the church we were attending.

“GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB!” Were

the only words I needed to hear to know that this man had

something I lost and I needed to get it back. There was

relationship in his voice, but I still had no idea how to find

the God of Bill.

71

Page 72: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The next piece of the map home was found in an article

written by a man named Rick Joyner. The article was

published in James Robison's newsletter. That one article

woke something in me that would start a journey back. I

was hearing a voice in the letters that spoke to my old

radical self that reminded me of a life I left many years

ago. In my newfound excitement, I began immediately to

talk to those around me of the freedom and the system of

American church that we were all caught up in and how it

was killing us and keeping us from seeing God.

My eyes were opened and I was determined to never go

back. I initially saw the church system as evil and contrary

to the will of God. I was not even willing to consider any

of it as from God as I hardly knew one person who was

able to be active in the system and have a radical

connection to the Father.

Not that many believers were not well-meaning and

doing all they knew to do, but in almost every case their

religion, church, denomination, truths and doctrines were a

substitute for this amazing life. The American religious

72

Page 73: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

machine was leading people to a commitment to principles,

truths and its local vision, but hardly allowing real and

radical connection to obedience and surrender.

In my zeal and early attempts to help people see, I threw

a lot of rocks. I was adamantly opposed to organized

religion and resisted it with passion. This became a

distraction for me, and even though I knew the way back,

the message became a burden and my focus became a

distraction.

It was like I was speaking a foreign language to

Christian believers. Even worse, what I was saying was

being interpreted as heresy and opposing the God of

creation. According to some Christians, I was “rebelling”

against the church and God's leaders. It was then that I was

visited in a dream by Enoch and Elijah.

73

Page 74: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Enoch and Elijah

In this dream/vision, I found myself standing on a grassy

hillside. Before me, at a bit of a distance, appeared two

very old men.

As they got closer towards me, I could tell they were

very, very old. Yet, they had the life and joy of the Lord

and had no feebleness in them. One man came closer and

the other stayed a bit behind. “Hi, I am Enoch and this is

my friend Elijah. We are the two witnesses spoken about in

your Scriptures. We have come with a message, and I

would like for you to go with me.”

Enoch was not serious and intense as I would have

thought, but rather full of so much joy. I had the very word

“joy” redefined for me as I listened to him and watched

him.

I had nothing to add to this man's words, but just

followed him. Elijah went a different path while Enoch and

74

Page 75: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I walked. Enoch, of course, led the way. Our first stop was

not far down the road where we stopped just short of

entering a church parking lot. Enoch was always careful

not to step on the property of the church. He began to

explain and to preach,

"We preach in heaven and some of our favorite messages

are these three:

Part one, is the story of 'The Word' born as a baby, grown

in stature, and the story of his proclamations, miracles,

death, and resurrection.

Part three of this preaching we tell of things you are not

able yet to hear, of that same Word, now exalted, whose

eyes are a flame of fire and hair white as wool and whose

majesty cannot be explained to you at this time. You will

have to wait for this part.

75

Page 76: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Part two, is what I've come to declare and what you all

should be preaching and living right now. The story of His

life you proclaim well, but it is part two you should be

focused on."

He preached with such joy and such hope there seemed

to be glorious vision being poured out as he spoke. But

even with all these words of power and truth, many people

would step out of the church building to see what this old

man was saying and walk right back in, ignoring him and

his words. As we went church building to church building,

many would ask him silly questions or mock him by asking

for a miracle or a sign. I don't remember one person

responding to or following Enoch.

These people had no effect on Enoch's joy, resolve, or

message. He was here to serve the King of the Universe

and it was all that mattered. The response of the people was

not his concern. His message went something like this:

"Jesus has made in you a great deposit, and the life you

76

Page 77: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

have been offered is so full of victory and hope. The ability

you now have to touch the Father's heart has never existed

like it does now since Jesus made this new way for you.

Your freedom has begun but it is now waiting for you to

grasp it in its fullness. The kingdom of darkness cannot

stand against even the least of those who would dare to

enter in.

The Kingdom is so rich and full of fellowship with the

Father of Lights. The path that you have started on is so

rich with adventure and reward. Very few have even begun

to see all that He has for you.

Sin is done away with and it no longer has you. The way

to perfect fellowship is now within your grasp. Give up

your life to this new way and embrace this life. He is

waiting and willing to help you cross over."

I learned many things in my time with Enoch and Elijah.

They would meet up at the end of each day to talk, laugh

77

Page 78: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

and tell the stories of the day. I believe that the time I spent

with them was three days, even though it only took 20

minutes to have the dream. I woke up and remembered

every detail as if it was a real life experience. I determined

to not write it down for years until the Lord led me to

understand all of its meaning and directed me to do so.

Loving Correction

The dream brought great correction to my attitude. It

showed me clarity of the message and the posture of those

who would proclaim the glory of God instead of the

traditions of men. People's acceptance of you or your

message should have no effect on your joy, your message,

or your heart towards them. We must persevere, we must

teach, exhort, and instruct. But our service is to God the

Father and our reward is through a faithful heart. Keep the

message pure but never lose heart or focus.

78

Chapter 9

Kingdom vs Churchianity

Home Church

Early on, it seemed evident that trying to find a church

that would allow us to experience this life would not be

possible because the system of church was not set up for

this. We began to meet in homes. The things we learned

about ministry, prophecy, hunger, and discipleship were all

being directed by God.

We did a lot of things wrong in the early days. We tried

to make the home church look like a mini version of the

American church and overwhelmed some of our first

disciples with too much shepherding. Taking offense with

the church system allowed and promoted mistrust and

79

Page 80: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

bitterness in those wounded by the system. There were so

many things we learned and there are still so many things

we are learning.

We began to hear God clearly again and the spirit of

family was increasing. We were learning this thing called

body ministry where each of us, as we were being set free

and alive, would each have a part to play and each have

words from God and ministry.

LIVING stones fitted together EACH part supplying.

Invited Back to Church

I was happy with our little family of believers. Everyone

in our home group was hungry after God and growing at

the time.

I met Pastor Dave. He was one of the nicest guys you'd

ever want to meet. Dave was the pastor of a small church

in Oklahoma and had been pastoring for about 23 years

when I met him. Our first meeting happened because

Pastor Dave was having computer issues and my company

sent me out to help him.

80

Page 81: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

After forty-five minutes of talking about God, Dave

excitedly said, “You have to come to my church. I have

been praying for someone like you; God has sent you here.

I have been having these God-encounters and I would love

for you to start coming.”

I replied, “I don't think so. You don't want me here. I'll

only cause trouble and mess up this good thing you got

going on.” Back and forth we went until he convinced me

he really was hungry for this “God thing” and away we

went.

We became instant best friends. The glory and hunger

on us both was contagious. We would go out to eat and the

presence of God was so strong that we'd start crying right

there in public. Waitresses would come over to our table

and comment about the obvious presence of God over our

conversation.

On Sunday mornings, people were REALLY getting

saved. There were tears and questions and surrendered

81

Page 82: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

hearts. Many times, Pastor Dave would stand at the pulpit

and just cry. He couldn't say anything but, “Jesus. Jesus.

Jesus,” and weep.

We were on the verge of a revival. The Pastor was

teaching Sunday morning in the main sanctuary and he

gave me his office to teach Sunday school classes to a

small group. One time, he let me teach behind the pulpit,

Not really something I was looking for, but it was fun.

Friday nights at my house was growing as the hungry

came to visit. All meetings, including the church, were

growing.

Then it happened - and it happened so fast that I was

shocked. After months of trust, friendship, and God

encounters, our first change in conversation happened. The

events that followed wounded me so desperately it felt as

though I would die. My heart was broken.

82

Page 83: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Pastor Dave told me of a conversation that one of the

more immature disciples had with him outside of the

church hallway. Brian went up to Pastor Dave and asked,

“Why don't you teach like Bill?” It was odd, but I knew

what Brian meant was that as far as depth and style, he was

far more inclined to my style and assumed it was more

spiritual than Dave's.

I laughed it off and assumed Pastor Dave did also.

During our next meeting Dave was not his happy self, but I

had no idea he had an agenda. He started talking about his

“position as pastor” and asked if I believed he was called to

be the pastor.

The next conversation did not go as well. A few days

later, Dave asked me if he was 'my' pastor, and if I

recognized him as the leader of the church. Now, I

suddenly knew where we were going and I was not going

to have any part of it.

83

Page 84: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Up to this point, we had never argued, and even though I

am sure we had points of disagreement, it was so odd to me

to suddenly feel like I was under attack.

Dave insisted I submit to his authority and shut down my

Friday night meetings for a season until he gave me

permission to reopen it.

“But Dave, I thought you asked me to come and help

you? You and I never agreed I was to be your church

member.”

The night before I was called to stand before the elders

of the church to answer for my crime of rebellion, I was

awakened by a voice. The voice said, “MY - OH - PIA.”

Over and over again the words rung in my ears. I could not

go back to sleep. I went and grabbed my encyclopedia to

look up the word. As I searched for it, the word kept

getting revised so that now it said myopia. Shocked to find

it was a word, I brought my “M” encyclopedia with me to

the meeting.

84

Page 85: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

I was excited that I had the word of the Lord to fix our

problem. I happily read and told my account of the voice. I

was met with anger and accusation. There was insistence

that I submit to the God appointed-leader.

Myopia is a word that means nearsightedness. It is when

the eyes focus incorrectly, making distant objects appear

blurred.

The doctrines of church submission are wildly misused

in today's church circles. I was not going to have any part

of this kind of control. It would have lead to the death of

my abiding-life. Sadly, Dave kicked me and my family out

of his fellowship. It broke my heart.

After twelve years of no conversation with Pastor Dave,

I received a phone call one afternoon and it was Pastor

Dave! He called to apologize and to tell me he loved me. I

am thankful to God for this friend and I am so glad God

brought him back.

85

Page 86: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Pastoral Authority

When talking to many pastors, especially young pastors,

they remind me of my first arguments as a newly married

husband. If I had any conflict in my marriage, I would

always argue (wrongly) that it was the "lack of submission"

in my new wife. My approach was at least some, if not

most, of the problem. I have been counseling marriages for

fifteen years now, and you would not believe how many

times I hear the "lack of submission" complaint from

husbands.

It is interesting to see the emotional place this brings all

the participants during a marriage counseling meeting. I

hope you can follow this. While the husband is telling me

his great crisis, both he and his wife are hopeful or worried

because I, being a man, wonder what my position on this

"Biblical" authority might be. I'm sure it was much the

same when Jesus talked to His new disciples and listened

to them talk about casting fire down on those who would

not hear or argue who would get to be seated on His right

86

Page 87: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

side. Authority doctrine is so many times wielded by the

immature in the faith.

Understanding Biblical Authority

I was just as bad - if not worse - than all who hold to the

false doctrines of submission and control. Being a young

and a highly aggressive male, I ruled my house with

pentecostal strictness. I was the head, and what I said was

the rule. I learned that it is not the pentecostal strictness

ruling that Jesus would have us wield when we are

commanded to rule our house well.

Do we want true followers or do we want fearful

members?

My first lesson on this subject came to me on a day

where I was sure I was right and frustrated by my wife's

'ignorance and lack of submission' to her "smarter and

God-given head". She said to me, "You know, you might

be right...." Those first words shot me down as fast as

anything I could have heard. I was silent and wanted-

87

Page 88: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

needed to hear the next words. This was the first time I

could remember hearing these words and I was floored by

them. Whatever she said next had my undivided and lack

of oxygen attention (I was holding my breath).

"You know, you might be right," she said again, "And

you know... I think... if Jesus were to walk into this room

right now and say the very things you are saying, I could

hear them because I know He has my best interest at

heart."

I was shocked. I was silenced. I knew she was right, but

I didn't understand it all. I decided at that very moment to

find out what it was that I was doing wrong and how I

could win my wife's trust so as to communicate on a real

and human level. I vowed within myself to not correct her

again until she asked me for advice. I would prove to her

that I was there to serve her, since nothing I was doing was

getting through to her anyway. It took two years...

88

Page 89: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Shepherd the flock of God which is among

you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion

but willingly, not for dishonest gain but

eagerly; nor as being lords over those

entrusted to you, but being examples to the

flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears,

you will receive the crown of glory that does

not fade away. Likewise you younger people,

submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of

you be submissive to one another, and be

clothed with humility, for “ God resists the

proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

1 Peter 5:2-5

I know most of the control freaks stopped reading a long

time ago, but I was going to lose them anyway.

You will notice that the Bible never tells the leader to

REQUIRE submission. The 'leader' should be a person that

people want to submit to. Submission is a gift. All the

justification for this type of control is justified by words

89

Page 90: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

like, “It's my job to protect the flock,” and “The Bible says

you should submit.” The focus of a Kingdom leader is

service and death - not someone else's submission. The

moment you own or coerce submission, it stops being true

heart submission.

After five attempts at pastoring successfully or

unsuccessfully, depending on your definition of kingdom

success, I have really and truly learned one thing: if the

Lord does not build the house, we labor in vain.

I submit to you that true authority is based mainly on

intimacy and truth. In our current Americanized ministry

model, in many cases, "authority" is established through

intimidation, fear, tradition, obligation or coercion.

Declaring our authority in an attempt to get people to

submit is against the very spirit of Jesus' teaching on

Biblical authority.

Chapter 10

The Silver Train Dream

The silver train was a dream I had that marked some

very important points about this walk of freedom and

relationship. I removed the longer version of this dream

and placed it on my blog.

The Prison Camp

I found myself a prisoner in the world's largest prison.

We were all encamped in a fenced area stretching for

untold miles. I could tell I was dreaming. Something about

this place just didn’t feel right. It was as if we were all

under a microscope, very small, and part of something

much larger than this life.

My only friend was Sam. He and I shared pain and

poverty. We didn’t really care for each other, but there was

some comfort having another human to share the struggles

with.

91

Page 92: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

One day, armed guards forced Sam and I to a

rehabilitation station. Rehabilitation was a new word for

us; we never thought rehab was an option. As we moved

closer to what looked like a large fenced basketball court,

the atmosphere and lighting seemed to change. The

darkness that seemed evident even in noon-day had faded

some.

There were voices coming from the skies like the voices

rats might hear while being examined by their scientists.

For the most part, the voices were unintelligible, but

occasionally I would have a glimmer of their meaning. I

somehow knew they wanted us to get out of prison.

Escape to Destruction

Escaping the open prison, I saw the rest of the world as

they lived. The cities of the world were in ruin. They

looked like the pictures you would see of a planet after

nuclear destruction. Most of what I saw were destroyed

inner cities. The people left behind were all part of

92

Page 93: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

different gangs who robbed and fought with each other and

protected the others in their gang.

I knew my old friends would be glad to see me and hear

of the torments of prison. But when I arrived, it seemed my

extended absence and new clothes drew so much fear and

suspicion that I knew if I tried to stay, they would

eventually kill me, so I headed back to the likeliest place of

survival, “the rehabilitation”. They just never saw someone

dressed so well and definitely have never seen someone

return from the camps so it had to be a trick.

The Rehabilitation

I went back to the fenced area hoping not to be punished

for my escape but somehow knowing that I probably

wouldn’t be. I met up with Sam again as we lost each other

when I went back to see my old friends. We concluded the

same thing, that our only possible chance for survival must

be the rehab.

93

Page 94: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

He seemed almost happy, still scarred from terror and

hardship, but now with hope and not as much fear. He was

carrying a book; I was handed one of the same. It was the

color of soft gray stone. We would read this book and gain

great insight into many wondrous things. The books were

magical, and somehow we knew that when we finished this

one, an endless supply of these books awaited our reading.

We began to be made free and strong in our hearts as we

read them, and the light we gained helped us to see

sunshine like we had never known. As each moment went

by and as we read more of the books, we moved further

away from the fenced area and were led to a new area just

beyond the fenced rehab. The new area had a thick row of

very green trees, and beyond the trees, a railroad track that

stretched farther than the eye could see in both directions.

The Silver Train and its Foundations

The tracks were a similar color as the books but a lot

more silver and shinier. Just as we approached the tracks,

we heard and felt the most fearful noise we had ever

94

Page 95: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

experienced. The sound of a coming train was so great and

so fearful that it shook the ground miles before it reached

us. We lunged back wildly from the tracks as this train

would surely kill you if it passed too closely. Its speed was

astonishing and its glistening silver body was impressive.

It too, was the color of my book but far more polished. Its

power and speed seemed almost supernatural and caused

great fear to all who came near. I felt released of my pain

and fear now that it had passed.

Immediately, we saw just beyond the tracks a hill

sloping down that was totally set of rounded stones. The

stones were of different sizes but all the color of soft gray.

We stood at the top of the tracks looking down at this hill

and noticed that it was the foundation for the train. In both

directions as far as we could tell, the hill went on and held

this train as strong as any foundation could. Walking down

the hill, we noticed the rocks were cemented in place and

could not be moved.

95

Page 96: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

We were suddenly left alone. Finding ourselves freer

than we ever thought possible, we walked a little lighter

and taller. We slowed at the bottom of the hill as

momentum from its steepness allowed us to rest. Sam sat

down to rest and ponder all the things he had learned. I was

feeling a little tired but decided rather than stop, I’d run.

Feeling wildly alive the moment I began to run, I began to

hear a song in my head. As I began to sing along, I was

enlightened and energy like I had never known flooded my

being. Angels began to sing with me, like a choir joining

me from the sky. The rest happened faster than you can

read the account.

I ran at the speed of a fast runner but when the song

began and the angels joined in, I began to run at the speed

of a racehorse and started singing as loud as I could. I

found myself passing the land of the stones and entering a

quiet little neighborhood. The song became louder with

each scene, my pace became faster while my joy and song

became wilder. Now running the speed of an airplane, I

passed the other scenes faster than my eyes could record

96

Page 97: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

them. Then I warped to the speed of light, then the speed of

Angels. Suddenly, I found myself at the edge of creation.

At this place I stopped, turned to behold all of the created,

where I swallowed it, and awoke.

The interpretation

Part one and two were pictures of our enslavement to the

world and its systems: being mistreated, rejected, enslaved

and imprisoned. Even freedom from extreme bondage still

leads us back to hopelessness and a world of selfish

society. It shows that unless a person finds real freedom,

even our cultures and societies offer unreal fellowship,

mistrust and fearful agendas.

Part three was the beginning of freedom, which comes in

the form of the Word of God. The Word of the Lord

sometimes comes through the Bible, but many times

through people or direct revelation from God. That is why

there is an endless supply of these books as the words of

God are not limited to a single book, doctrine or

denomination. For even Jesus said, “You think these books

97

Page 98: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

lead you to eternal life and they 'point' to me, but you won't

come to me.”

Next, was the train and its tracks. The tracks represent

time and history and the fearful train represents organized

religion or the church system, looking like the book in

appearance but having the polish of man's hands so to

appear shiny and appealing to the eyes or flesh. The stones

that the tracks lay on are the believers whose bodies and

souls the train had run over and built its foundation upon.

If you were to make it past this place, there are

opportunities that are supernatural, but if you choose to

stop and read only, you will not know. Sam enjoyed his

book, but did not press past his weariness and pleasure to

see what more there was if he had kept going.

Angels await your joining into the song of heaven and

help you to fly and become more than human. To fly past

this earth, this age, and even to transcend the creation to

become like the Creator Himself in nature and abilities.

98

Page 99: Power of an Endless Life

Chapter 11

Ears To Hear

There is a cry from the wilderness that is not heard but

by a few. Jesus would make many calls ending with the

phrase, "Those who have ears to hear, let them hear what

the Spirit says...." There are people who are ready for the

calls of God, and at different stages in their lives, are ready

for the higher callings and dealings of God.

Paul had trouble in his letters writing to an immature

crowd and as he desired to tell them more, saying, "I desire

to tell you much on this subject but your hearing is dull...."

It is possible to learn how to increase our hearing. The

Scripture is clear: we should grow into the deeper things of

God as believers, and we should press higher and deeper

all the time.

99

Page 100: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Truth

We are warned about stopping on this journey and

possibly falling back by not pressing forward. There are

things we can do to "hear better" and signs we can look for

to see if we are still "in the faith". Jesus said to his

disciples, “The reason you do not know these things is

because you do not desire to know the truth.” The first

thing we must do is be willing to hear the truth. This is not

as easy as it first appears. Almost everyone on this planet

wants to hear things that will make them happy or make

their lives better, things that do not require self-inspection

or work. Truth, on the other hand, is not concerned with

your comfort, and is what it is.

Comfort and Ease

Our modern comforts and sound-bite society have

numbed us from wrestling with ideas or reason. A person

who desires truth has a "teachable heart"; it's a heart that

says, “No matter how it is said, no matter who says it, and

no matter what it may do to me or my lifestyle, I desire to

100

Page 101: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

know truth.” I have been counseling for many years, and it

is very rare to find this kind of person.

It comes down to two problems: sin and/or unbelief. If a

person is trying to hold on to some sin or idea and is

unwilling to let it go, he cannot hear or "enter". If he does

not trust God or is in unbelief, he will be unwilling to hear

and change because he is not sure God will be there for

him to replace his solutions, doctrines, lifestyle or

pleasures with something of equal or greater value. "If I let

this go, will God take care of me? If I stop this sin, will He

replace it with something better?" The heart of a sinner is

stubborn and self-fulfilling. There is no room for truth in

his heart, so truth is not heard, and the faithless/unbeliever

is too afraid to embrace truth as it frightens him to trust an

invisible promise.

101

Page 102: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being

left us of entering into his rest, any of you

should seem to come short of it. For unto us

was the gospel preached, as well as unto them:

but the word preached did not profit them, not

being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest,

as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if

they shall enter into my rest: although the

works were finished from the foundation of the

world.” Hebrews 4:1-3

Simple Solution

Faith is the answer to this dilemma of blindness and

embracing of lies: faith in the form of trust, to trust that if

we jump from this tree of self-preservation and comfort,

God will be there to guide us and not let us die.

Going Deeper

If you are not willing to do the things in this chapter, it is

impossible for you to understand the deep things of God or

102

Page 103: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

find anything but confusion or offense when they are

proclaimed. So, if giving up your life for God is not an

option (your future, your hopes, your plans, your sins all

surrendered to God) you can stop reading here and say like

you do with most sermons, "Well that was nice" or "I know

who needs to hear that," and go on your merry way. If you

are willing to die so that you may live, then here goes....

Two Anointings

There is only one anointing, but for the purpose of this

book there are two 'types' of anointing: the grace anointing

and the personal or fruit anointing.

“Anointing” in Scripture is the Spirit of God. It is also

referred to as the ability or special power that God gives

His people for service or imparting revelation.

But the anointing which ye have received of

him abides in you, and ye need not that any

man teach you: but as the same anointing

103

Page 104: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is

no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall

abide in him. 1 John 2:27

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the

Holy Ghost and with power: who went about

doing good, and healing all that were

oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 10:38

And he gave some, apostles; and some,

prophets; and some, evangelists; and some,

pastors and teachers. Ephesians 4:11

The grace anointing comes with corporate worship or

within a person who has a “gift” to bring forth the glory of

God or revelation of Christ. Jesus gave this grace to the

seventy when He said,

"Go and preach, and when you preach, lay

hands on the sick and cast out devils".

104

Page 105: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

These people had not yet been “born again” as children

of God, and yet Jesus gifted them with special ability to

preach the good news.

He also gives a gift of ministry or anointing to those who

are called to build up the body of Christ or to proclaim the

Gospel to the lost. These gifts are many in number, but

most people have heard or been taught about the five-fold

ministry gifts that God gave to the Church for the

perfecting or maturing of the believer. These gifts of faith

or ministry are given without cost or reward for a person's

faithfulness or holiness. So then, the grace anointing is

given to prepare the way for personal anointing. It is

intended to produce the lasting fruit, for the believer to go

deeper and find the second type of anointing, the personal

anointing. The grace anointing is the taste and see; the

personal anointing is the fruit of our relationship with God,

and when we develop intimacy with God and bring forth

the fruit of a godly life, we gain the, "Well done," of God.

105

Page 106: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth

them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth

me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love

him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:21

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,

ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done

unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that

ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:7, 8

With intimacy and alignment to the Father's will comes

glory. As we are yielded to the Father and obedient to His

guiding, He fills our life with His Word and Spirit. Those

who are filled need to be continually filled by separation,

death to self, and radical obedience to His whispers. When

we go deeper and deeper into this death to self, we find

more and more of the revelation of His Son and the next

106

Page 107: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

measure of grace to enable us to hold fast to His dealings

with us. In this season, we hear and see things in the spirit,

many of great wonder and encouragement, but then comes

the test and the death required to self to see it realized.

Always bearing about in the body the dying of

the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might

be made manifest in our body. For we which

live are always delivered unto death for Jesus'

sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made

manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death

worketh in us, but life in you. 2 Cor 4:10-12

Many who have this pruning or purging work being done

in their lives stop at the pain and retreat to more

comfortable places. The retreat does not remove the call or

the anointing or the glory from our giftedness, but it does

remove the next step in glory in our personal life. If retreat

continues, it can cause such a withdraw in our souls that

God is not actively working in the fiery press with us.

107

Page 108: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man

draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in

him. But we are not of them who draw back

unto perdition; but of them that believe to the

saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:38

The Gift is to Produce Relationship

There are times when we gather together with others to

worship or when a gifted teacher teaches, we feel the

presence of God, but during private times He seems far off.

The corporate anointing is God's grace to call His people to

sanctification or surrender to His will. Without personal

surrender, there is no personal anointing and the Scripture

is fulfilled, "Ever learning, never coming into the

knowledge of the truth".

The Scripture tells us God has no fellowship with

darkness, and if we will hold compromise or darkness in

our hearts, He will not dwell there. This is one of the cries

of today's ministers. They are curious why the presence of

God is so strong when they teach, but absent from their

108

Page 109: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

homes. The gifted minister many times does not realize this

truth and assumes the anointing on his ministry is an

endorsement of his life, when just the reverse is true. The

lack of personal anointing should be a great concern and a

warning that our life is not measuring up to the call.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers

only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22

There is widespread deception in the world right now as

most church-goers lead lives of compromise and sin, living

standards of worldliness that unbelievers 50 years ago

would not allow. Many of us do religious things and half-

surrender our lives just enough to feel better, but then we

go back to comfort and pleasure as soon as we can. This is

about to change. There is a call going forth for the church

to rise, to begin to pray, and to put off sin.

109

Page 110: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

No Little Foxes

"...The little foxes, that spoil the vines".

Jesus taught it was the little things in our lives that most

of us miss and that keep our hearts from being pure before

God. Since it is only the "pure in heart" who will see Him,

it is time we put off our laziness, cast down our fleshly

imaginations, live repentant lives, and continually

surrender our hearts and hands to live in radical surrender.

Though it may take years of training, growth and grace to

grow up and to master our tongues and flesh, a surrendered

heart takes only moments and is the first call of every

believer for every day that he lives.

Pure Heart / Clean Hands

The grace message has been watered down so far that it

has become an excuse to sin in some circles, rather than the

power of God to live free from sin. Many churches and

Christians use grace doctrines to make room for their

weaknesses rather than for its true purpose--to empower us

110

Page 111: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

to be holy and free from all bondage, lies, and darkness.

All over the world, the bride is beginning to take holiness

and relationship seriously. There is an increase in prayer

and abiding, and we believers are going to be given great

power if we will move into what God is doing.

Prayer Time

My house shall be called “a house of prayer.” We, the

house of God, need to begin to pray - not just more prayer

but continual prayer. There is a Scripture that says we

should "pray without ceasing". This is abiding prayer,

where our life and words and deeds are all prayers, where

we no longer do anything without leaning, listening and

subjecting our lives to His will. Abiding prayer,

intercession, fellowship with God, is a topic worthy of its

own book.

Two Trees

One of the foundations of the Christian faith is

repentance from dead works. This is not the same as

repentance from sin. Repentance from dead works brings

111

Page 112: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

us all the way back to our fall in the garden. When we, in

Adam, took from the wrong tree - we died. Our death came

as deception in our life, sin in our nature, and no longer

being allowed to eat of the tree of life. The cross, the

blood, and the resurrection gave us redemption from this

curse, and yet many still minister and live from the wrong

tree.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil presents us

with the impossible task of making God happy with our

carnal works, as if we could ever cross the line of doing

enough good to counter the evil we have done or continue

to do. This is a never-ending cycle of hopeless pursuit, but

we still hear most sermons and most of today's counselors

teaching from the wrong tree. We hear the rules of the

church or the requirements for holiness taught from a

backwards place. The obedience required from a Jesus-life

is based on Love, Relationship and Revelation, not dead

rules and obedience to the letter. We have a NEW AND

LIVING WAY to please God, and it's by loving Him, doing

works based on love, through the power of our relationship

112

Page 113: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

with Him, by the power of His grace in our life. We are

now changed into the likeness of His Son by "beholding"

Him, not becoming good people through obeying the

Book.

With hearts turned toward God in absolute surrender and

with obedience to His leading and separation from sin

based on faith and love, we are transformed into those

whose nature is like God, instead of obedient followers of a

religious order. Now, rather than practicing patience, we

become patience, or instead of resisting lust, we become

God-minded and stop lusting as we see His heart and are

changed into His children.

The new covenant declares we have a new and LIVING

way. This means the life we now live, we live in reality and

life. We ALL behold Him, we ALL encounter Him in

reality not just in blind faith. This new life is a supernatural

life based on Jesus opening the Holy Place for all of us to

go in and meet with God. New life obedience comes from a

heart of love and faith, not fear and rules. We must always

113

Page 114: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

offer the RULES and REQUIREMENTS of the faith tied

directly to relationship and the power of Christ in our lives

to empower and keep us. The guides of what is sin and

what is right in the New Covenant have become to many

individuals the same as Old Covenant. What we should do

rather than hold people to the Book, is to help them be full

of the Spirit, hold them to the cross, and apply the

Scriptures as a guide to see if the LIFE is real in their lives.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is often

propagated and promoted through systems of control in our

organizations and in many cases we call this "church." It is

time we re-define church to help people find their way to

God instead of finding their way to a system or

organization or more rules.

Two Churches

Though there are many definitions and distinctions of

the local church, for the purpose of this book, there are two

churches. The first is the visible church, the organizations

114

Page 115: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

with names, titles, buildings, and service times, sound

equipment, songs and prayers, memberships and rules, and

statements of faith.

There is a second church. This church is made up of

people, all of them alive unto God. This is the church God

talked about that would NOT be built by hands, but is the

habitation or dwelling of God on the earth. This church is

both visible and invisible and is both in the local church

and outside the local church. Only God can know fully

who is and who is not part of this church. Some people

who we think are mighty members of God's church have

never even entered the gates of salvation. Some who we

see struggle on the fringes are some of God's faithful

warriors. Membership in this church is through faith and

"real" surrender to Jesus.

In many ways, the two churches are working together,

helping each other. And yet in many ways, they oppose

each other, warring against the will of God. When the

organization is seen as a tool and its order is led of God, it

115

Page 116: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

promotes freedom of worship, personal growth, and

activates individuals to radical faith and the work of God.

If it is not ordered of God, it intimidates the very people it

is supposed to inspire making ministry an office, exalting

people, rules and ideals above service and empowerment. It

offers rules for control and manipulation with fear as part

of everything it does. I do not know a person or church

who is not guilty of some of this. We all need to see it as a

cultural and historical curse that we all need to repent from

until we are free.

Some of the things we do as tradition are rooted in

control and propagated by fear. Many of today's doctrines

are not true doctrines and need re-evaluation. There is a

new hunger rising in the leaders of God's people to see

things change, but that change needs to begin in us. How

radical are we willing to be to have our doctrines, our

beliefs, and our control messed with, in order to see God

move in the masses?

116

Page 117: Power of an Endless Life

Chapter 12

Teaching Prophetic Living

The promises of God and the miraculous seem to be tied

to the living voice of God. What He is saying and what He

has said carry the promise and the power. Stepping out to

pursue God and His promises is hard or impossible if you

are relying on a Bible verse, but when the written becomes

the living or revealed, now you have something to walk on.

You have not His word abiding in you: for

whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search

the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have

eternal life: and they are they which testify of

me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might

have life. John 5:38-40

117

Page 118: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Prophecy has become for us more than something we

hear between two songs in a worship service. It is a regular

abiding, listening for His unction, direction, and wisdom.

Stepping out on the hearing of God rather than the assumed

will of God is where Kingdom fruit is born. As Jesus said,

“I ONLY do what I SEE the Father do and ONLY speak

what I HEAR the Father speak.” This is our commission as

well: to learn to hear His voice so perfectly that we can

always know the will of God.

Neck Boy

My second son was always going to be an Army soldier,

from the time he was five - he was sure. He told us since a

young age that he would be in the Army and believed it

was the call of God for his life to join.

The chiropractor said, “There is no way you can get into

the Army; your neck is so messed up they can't take you.”

118

Page 119: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

When Michael was little, he was pushed off a second

story porch by a neighbor kid and hit his face on the dirt-

ground. The injury caused a minor fracture in one of his

vertebrae and misaligned his neck so bad, that by the time

the chiropractor took x-rays at 14 years old, some of the

bones had already grown together and there was no motion

in them. He suffered daily migraines and had limited

motion in his neck. Years of pain medication and

chiropractic visits did not make it better.

At 17 years old, Michael and I were in the car and Mike

asked me, “How can I get into the Army? I know what the

doctor said, but I still feel like God wants me to join.” He

was very sad and confused how God could put this in his

heart and not let him do it.

I said, “There are only two ways: the Army would have

to change its policy or God is going to heal you.” Since it

seemed to him that the second option was more likely, he

asked, “So how do I get God to heal me?”

119

Page 120: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

“Just ask,” I said. He bowed his head right at that

moment and made a quiet request. Then he looked up and

said, “I think we need to go back the the chiropractor.”

A few days later, in the chiropractor's office, I asked the

Dr. to x-ray his neck. As soon as the film was out and on

the glass, the doctor ran out of the room and started yelling

to the nurse, “Get me Michael's original x-rays!” Returning

with the nurse and the film, the doctor put them side by

side. It took no doctor to see what happened. He was so

shocked he was shaking his head and didn't speak for

almost a minute. The only thing he could conclude was,

“Man, am I a good chiropractor or what?”

The Chiropractor asked me how this was possible and

we told him the story. His neck was and still is repaired,

with no sign of ever having had a fracture and all the bones

are separated with a healthy and perfect space between

each bone.

120

Page 121: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The Chiropractor gave me copies of both x-rays, which I

have shown to other doctors, and none of them can explain

it, except that it must have been a miracle.

Amplifiers in Heaven

Do you ever wonder why some preachers are always

yelling? From what I have seen, God's voice needs no

amplification. He whispers and nations rise or fall. He

unctions and man's life is changed forever. The

emotionalism and hype we add to His dealings are human

and God still works in spite of them, but we don't need

them. Only His voice matters.

121

Page 122: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The Simplicity of Christ

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent

beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your

minds should be corrupted from the simplicity

that is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3

Depending on your level of religion, the simplicity of

Jesus being our life, the Father being our focus, and the

Spirit of God being our companion is lost with religious

service. We have exchanged simplicity for religious

obedience to doctrine and dead works. The training of

Spirit-led living has been replaced by a teaching church,

one who is ever-learning and never able to come to the

knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7).

The simplicity of Christ is an ever-abiding heart, one

whose mind and passions and obedience are stayed on

Him-- a “real” moment-by-moment encounter that is ever

increasing and always taking you deeper into the Spirit. It

122

Page 123: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

is not just a principled life based on the Bible, but a

desperate heart that is abiding and conversing. It is being

led and transformed by living encounters with your

Creator.

Breaking With Tradition

The most amazing thing about this topic is almost

everyone believes I am talking about someone else. They

think, “This can't possibly be me because my thinking or

my church are the true.” Let me begin this section by

saying that we are ALL in need of refining, and unless you

are face to face with the Father and walking in the fullness

of Sonship and power, this section applies to you.

Beware lest any man spoil you through

philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition

of men, after the rudiments of the world, and

not after Christ.

Colossians 2:8

123

Page 124: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Making the word of God of none effect through

your tradition, which ye have delivered: and

many such like things do ye. Mark 7:13

This chapter is usually the hardest part for people to

fathom, that we might be doing church wrong or even

worse, we might have some ways and traditions we hold

dear that are actually contrary to life in Christ.

There are people in almost every religious group who are

hungry, who want God so bad, and who do have ears to

hear and are willing to throw off tradition and religion to

move deeper into God.

Taking Down the High Places

We find in many places in Scripture, that when the

presence of God was brought back to His people, it was

always necessary to take down the “high places,” meaning

the king or priesthood went in and destroyed the temples,

the places of worship, and the idols that the people had set

up during the times when they had rebelled against God.

124

Page 125: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of

the LORD, as did David his father.

And he took away the sodomites out of the

land, and removed all the idols that his fathers

had made. And also Maachah his mother, even

her he removed from being queen, because she

had made an idol in a grove; and Asa

destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook

Kidron. 1 Kings 15:11-13

And even though we are commanded to honor our

fathers and mothers, we are never to tolerate idolatry or the

religious tradition of our fathers.

Today we are seeing the same thing happening. There is

a move for the hungry to run into God and away from old

systems and man-made rules of religious order. There are

millions of believers who are feeling it is time for

125

Page 126: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

something fresh and real and alive. Even in the most lively

of church services, the cry for more is evident.

Much of what we have in place in the local church for

order and training is either old tradition based on old

religious systems, or in some cases, doctrine modified just

enough to keep people from growing and finding their

place in God. In some local church organizations, it is even

worse; the techniques of mass-hypnosis, mind control, and

power games are as bad as any cult I’ve ever seen.

Principle of Tradition vs Glory

We know that Jesus taught and Paul warned that

traditions sown into a group have the potential to kill the

very life of God. We are warned to find and destroy the

unfruitful doctrine at every turn.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him

that called you into the grace of Christ unto

another gospel: Which is not another; but

126

Page 127: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

there be some that trouble you, and would

pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or

an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel

unto you than that which we have preached

unto you, let him be accursed. As we said

before, so say I now again, if any man preach

any other gospel unto you than that ye have

received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-9

How Do We serve & Not Offend

I have heard it said, that we need to do more preaching

of the real and not focus on the counterfeit. The best way to

detect a counterfeit dollar is not by studying all counterfeit

dollars, but by knowing the real so well that we can discern

error when we see it. This is a very good principle and one

I mostly agree with, which is why this book focuses mostly

on the glory and the promise.

What we also need to be careful of is the potential for

people to fall back into the lies of religion once they see the

127

Page 128: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

truth because no one is making it clear enough that those

things are dangerous. Let us remove or take down the high

places so as not to become rebound by them.

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto

them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the

land of Canaan; Then ye shall drive out all

the inhabitants of the land from before you,

and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all

their molten images, and pluck down all their

high places: And ye shall dispossess the

inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I

have given you the land to possess it.

Numbers 33:51-53

What we have seen in almost every revival in history is

the local “leaders” take control of the fire, build

denominations and buildings around the life, and

eventually kill it, having only buildings and people left,

with no fire.

128

Page 129: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Tearing down and plucking up is something I believe is a

necessary part of restoration of God's presence. Great care

needs to be taken in this process because it is very likely, if

it is not done correctly and with the right heart, you will

breed rebellion and feed woundedness in the hearers. Many

people will be able to see what's wrong in any person or

group of people, but we are only changed by beholding

Him, not by beholding error.

Ok, Just One More Try Church

Twenty five years ago as a young street preacher, I met a

young man zealous for God and ministry. This young man

was also a youth pastor. After a time of preaching on the

streets with him, we returned to his home church. While

standing in the church lobby, the Spirit of God came on me

and I prophesied to him that he would be the next pastor of

this local church and God would do great things. Then I

laid hands on him and prayed for him.

129

Page 130: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

A few years ago, we moved back to my wife's

hometown. Our first intent was to bring this new life to

our family and begin building people. In great hope and

expectation, I met many times with my old friend who is

now the pastor of his local church. He was so open to this

new life and radical faith that the first time we talked, we

both wept openly at a restaurant salad bar. Since the time I

had prophesied to my pastor-friend, the church had grown

to house many members.

Once we settled into our new town, we started a home

meeting right away and opened our doors to praying twice

a week. Most of the friends that came to our home were

ones that we had known for 25 years. Being that many of

these same friends were also members of the pastor's

church, we modified our meeting times so as not to

conflict with the church's scheduled meetings. We didn't

want to give an impression of competition.

We also never took up personal offerings and never

spoke evil of the pastor. Spending personal time with the

local pastor and knowing he was traditional in his church

130

Page 131: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

views, I spoke words of honor and respect and expected

those in his church to do the same.

I say all this to say that after 25 years of talking to the

churched, it is very easy to offend the relationship and

divide over the smallest of issues. We took extra care as to

not unintentionally offend.

I invited my pastor to attend, but that never happened.

We were confronted five different times by the elders of

the church, suggesting we close down our “unauthorized”

prayer meetings. My disagreements with some of his elders

began to reach the ears of the pastor and some concern was

brewing as to what I was saying. There were those who

would see my influence with some of the people of the

church and wanted to know where my allegiance lay. Was I

faithful to the vision of the church and obeying the pastor

in all things? As you can tell by my stories and

experiences, my responses didn't go over very well.

There is a false doctrine that holds men back in the

American church -- one of leadership, office, and

submission. Its words and principles seem to come from

131

Page 132: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Scripture, but its fruit is control, restriction, and lifeless

Christianity. When used as God intended, these things

bring freedom, life, and true covering.

Even though neither the pastor nor his leadership ever

bothered to come visit our home, we spoke often. I told the

pastor that the systems that he had in place were

systematically killing the very life of God in some of these

people. The voice of God was restricted in his place, and

the life of God in his people was nonexistent or at least

invisible. In the early times and talks, the pastor agreed

with all of these things. I was unwilling to endorse this

process or system, but I loved him and these people and

was willing to help bring life back to a church that used to

be alive.

After two years of struggle against the religious culture

and the traditions, the conversation changed and it was

clear to us all that my “radical” definition of discipleship

really “didn't fit the direction of this fellowship”. That's a

nice way of saying, “Get out.”

The last time I was there, I sat and looked over the

crowd and could see prophetically the desperation and

lifelessness of the people. My pastor-friend was making the

congregants laugh and telling some exciting Bible story.

He went back to appeasing the crowd, giving them classes

instead of glory, and messages instead of discipleship. I

was sad and pray for him till this day. I love him; I am his

friend.

Chapter 13

What Does it Look Like

Lively Stones

The house begins to fill with people. Both rich and poor

show signs of true friendship and greet one another without

the need of an official greeter. Everyone is welcomed and

feels right at home because the casual atmosphere of care

and coffee and cookies leads to a meeting where both

young and old "lean in," hungry for God, with some

already beginning to pray.

The room begins to quiet and someone begins to pray

out loud. All other voices go silent, and then the hush turns

to a soft whispering, agreeing with the words of the one

leading the prayer.

135

Page 136: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

The formula? God.

The plans and programs? Jesus & Jesus.

The flow? The Holy Ghost...

Jesus is invited, the Father is given control, and all hearts

feel the atmosphere begin to change. The meeting at this

point is never the same. As we all listen, the Spirit of God

directs the flow. Sometimes one person teaches, sometimes

many people do. Each person takes a part in teaching or

instruction and adding to the next. Some have questions,

and at times they are addressed, and other times they are

not.

The focus is always the same - the Father's will.

Emphasis is strong on surrendered hearts, abiding in His

will, and learning to walk in practical, real encounters with

God in victory and holiness.

136

Page 137: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

"Tonight we are learning about sonship," and as the

teaching begins, lives are set free as the word of the Lord is

spoken under His anointing and everyone seems to hear a

different word that is custom-built just for them, including

the speaker. Those in the room are free to share their

personal encounters with God and add words of

encouragement or testimony.

A word may come from one of the teenagers about

surrender and sonship, while another may share what

dream she had last night. Young and old are inspired and

humbled by His presence, and we begin to pray. With just a

brief word of encouragement and push to find Him in

reality, we enter into His presence through worship or

prayer.

Praying. Worshiping. Pressing. Everyone is free to

walk around the house or hide in one of the rooms while

surrendering. The room goes loud, then quiet, then songs,

then intercessory prayer. Some of the younger people begin

to cry and travail while others gather around them to help

137

Page 138: Power of an Endless Life

carry the burden. Everyone knows God is in the room and

our lives are being transformed.

After over an hour of prayer, we gather back in our seats

and ask people what they heard and what God has put on

their hearts.

"...you also, like living stones, are being built

into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,

offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God

through Jesus Christ". 1Peter 2:5

Church Redefined

As we get closer to the end of this age, God is having

His way in the hearts of His people. The bride is making

herself ready, and God is defining His habitation instead of

it being defined by traditions and religious men.

In the past, many of the moves of God were preceded by

hearts in the church feeling discontent, birthing

reformation, with the end result being a new people

138

Page 139: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

gathered around a new truth or set of truths. This move is

going to be different.

One difference is the hearts of His people are beginning

to cry for more than a change in methodology or doctrine.

A hunger is rising to know and behold the heart of God.

Pastors all over the world are saying they are tired of

"doing church" and crying out for us to "become the

Church".

We need to begin to give ourselves permission to think

about traditional church differently and give others

permission to find God bigger than the box we have placed

Him in. This is a day in which we are seeing many desiring

more, while the systems of Christianity are not equipped,

and never have been, to feed the people of God.

Church Bashing

If you are wounded by the system or a church leader,

you may wish to use this book to reinforce your desire to

bash the church or to justify your anger. This is not the

intent of these words. I do believe there are leaders in

139

Page 140: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

God's house who do not bow to the systems of control and

manipulation and desire God at any cost.

I have been to places where the eldership is all about

empowering and releasing everyone to find God's call on

their lives and where the pastors use their influence to

inspire and guide lives into prayer and encounter.

Is it Better Yet?

Jesus said “It is better that I leave you.”

Jesus was talking about a life that should exceed the life

He was living with His friends, where He was there in the

flesh every day, providing the miraculous and teaching

from God's very table.

The life Jesus offers you as a believer is supposed to be

better. The reason we don't see “the better” is very few are

pressing in to get it.

Revival and awakening are already here; God is calling

you to come up. Be revival; don't wait for it. The promises

are for now and today, not yesterday and tomorrow.

Chapter 14

Where Do We Go From Here

Three Things

The Lord spoke to me one day as I was asking Him for

direction. He spoke to me three days in a row and said the

exact same three things. He told me that if I were to be

“employed” by Him, I was to commit to three things as if it

were my life's very purpose, learning and mastering these

as a foundation for my life.

1) Continual Repentance – Living not a perfect life but

one continually humbled by my weakness and His

greatness. Living in such a place of lowliness,

teachability and humility that even the slightest

misstep is met with a renewed surrender to His

voice and will. Walking carefully to never quench

His Spirit.

141

Page 142: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

2) Diligence in Prayer – Make abiding and deep

prayer my number one priority, praying about every

decision, leaning into His voice and direction for

each step of my life. Be trained in the school of His

presence to grow up into perfect hearing and perfect

obedience.

3) Obedience unto Death – Resolve to obey, serve,

give at all cost and at no regard for myself but only

for the King.

My first response was that these steps were a bit radical,

but after a few days of meditation on them, I realized they

really are what we say “yes” to if we come into His

Kingdom correctly.

Fellowship

“Forsake not the assembly of yourselves....” In this

current season, it is easier said than done. New Covenant

standards, it is really hard to find those who are truly

assembling.

142

Page 143: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

If you will seek God as described in this book, you may

find yourself alone. You may even find yourself rejected

and persecuted, trying to tell others of the glorious life.

Start by becoming the message, and God will direct you to

fellowship. Many times your life will begin a chain

reaction in others, and you will be the leader of this new

and living way.

The new awakening we are all waiting for begins with

those who will die to see it. Be one of those. Don't just

read this book, but become the message, pray, die to

yourself.

I am hoping for the day when this book and my

experiences are so common that this kind of book is not

needed and the revelations coming from the average

believer is so fresh and alive, no man will need to tell of

such stories.

143

Page 144: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Please join us as we press to find Him. Don't let this just

be another book. Let it be the beginning of such a radical

walk with God that you and those you know will never be

the same.

Fathering

We have moved into an age of great hardship for the

earth which is quaking and groaning. The kingdoms of the

earth are being shaken and we are possibly on the verge of

global shifts like this earth has never seen.

In the midst of these earth shiftings are coming shifts to

the Body of Christ. His people, who are called by His

name, are about to make major changes in their

understanding and walk. The final harvest has begun and

the manifestation of the Sons of God are eminent.

In all of this shifting and realigning, a very important

thing we are going to come to understand is the revelation

144

Page 145: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

of the Father's heart. The fathers will turn to their children,

and the children will turn back to their fathers.

We will no longer be about our buildings and programs,

because the true apostolic leader of God's people will be

fathering, mentoring and releasing - not correcting,

changing or controlling. The change in this one area alone

will bring such life to our churches and gatherings that it

will transform the face of Christianity.

Conclusion

Moses led a mass of humanity to free places - not to

wander free in dry places - but to first meet with the God of

freedom.

The children of Israel were met at a mountain of fire and

death by the One who would consume flesh and raise up

new life, but they would not come, rather settled for dry

and free. “Let Moses speak to God and let Moses speak to

145

Page 146: Power of an Endless Life

us for we are afraid.” Free they were, and yet slaves to fear,

delivered not to wander but to enter.

A land flowing, a promise given, a dream cast with

blood, and flies, and frogs, and death cast in the sand and

made real forever by the deaths of their captors.

Yet they all died, never receiving the promise.

Wandering ignorant slaves like lemmings to their deaths;

their carcasses were an embarrassment to a nation and a

lesson to us. For are we not like them? Given a promise of

flowing life and settling for wandering, dusty, freedom?

Are we brave enough to even ask these questions?

Is this American Christian life ok or enough? Is going to

church and being free from the world's death party all we

really need? Is it enough being good employees, nice

146

Page 147: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

people, and ever-learning about the Book? Are we

bordering in suffering death, teetering between fear and

salvation? Is the promise so great and the price paid so

high that we are on the verge of wrath?

“Well, everyone else is going this way….”

I believe that we are living on past revelations, at best, in

almost 100% of American churches. We play church, going

through the motions, while the call is still “Come up and

die so that you can live. Meet God in His fiery mountain,

be known of Him and know Him, and walk like God

people (not church people).”

The Other Side

We have read and heard of men and women who have

been to “the other side,” seen the Promised Land, walked

as grasshoppers in the land of giants, and come back with

revelations the size of watermelons. Wade Taylor, Rees

147

Page 148: Power of an Endless Life

Power of an Endless Life

Howells, Maria Woodworth-Etter, and Smith

Wigglesworth, to name a few, came back to tell us “Come

over, there is a place for you.”

The God who forced deliverance upon our wilderness

wanderers never forced them into the promise. He offered

it to them and let them die in rebuke for not entering.

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering

His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to

have come short of it. For indeed the gospel

was preached to us as well as to them; but the

word which they heard did not profit them, not

being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

For we who have believed do enter that rest,

as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath,

‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the

works were finished from the foundation of the

world. Hebrews 4:1-3

148

Power of an Endless Life

It's interesting how we will pay forty dollars to stand in

line for hours just for the opportunity to ride an amusement

park ride that lasts for two minutes, but we won't spend the

same amount of time to find the Creator of all things?

Let us determine to put away our flesh and our desires

and begin to DO what we were created for. There is so

much waiting for those who will seek Him.

See you on the other side, Bill
