What is Paranoid Personality Disorder?

Paranoid personality Disorder (PPD) is a type ofpsychological personality disorder characterized

by an extreme level of distrust and suspicion of

others.

Paranoid personalities are generally difficult to

get along with, and their combative and distrustfulnature often elicits hostility in others.

Needless to say, those with PPD are unlikely to form

many close relationships and are typically perceived as

cold and distant. They are quick to challenge the loyalty

of friends and loved ones and tend to carry long grudges(Dobbert 2007, Kantor 2004).

Icannot trust otherpeople.

Other people havehidden motives.

Others will try to useme or manipulate meif I don't watch out.

I have to be on guardat all times.

t isn't safe to confidein other people.

I

f people act friendly, they may be trying touse or exploit me.

People will take

advantage of me if I give them the chance.

For the most part, other people are

unfriendly.

Other people willdeliberately try to

demean me.

Often people

deliberately want to

annoy me.

I will be in serious

trouble if I let other

people think they canget away with

mistreating me.

If other people findout things about me,

they will use them

against me.

People often say one

thing and mean

something else.

A person whom I am

close to could be

disloyal or unfaithful.
