Introduction■ This designing and construction project became necessary due to
numerous complaints of flooding in the area of 500 km square. The area has a population of 150,000 people where 20% of the population are attributed to children between the ages of 4-13 years old.
![Page 3: Power Point Presentation for (Advance Project Management)](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022062522/5873b60f1a28abbc788b47ed/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Problem Statement■ Objectives• Using the SMART analysis:SPECIFIC• Construction would be in phases which
includes from start-to-finish of the project.
MEASURABLE• Our progress will be measured on a
weekly basis whereby we plan to excavate 50km square in trenches so as to pour the concrete mixtures before the pipes are been laid.
ASSIGNABLE• Project manager: Meetings, Resources,
Preparation of final reports
• Concrete Experts: All aspects of concrete for the project and analysis of results.
• Procurement; Ordering of all materials for the project
• Scheduling: Construction scheduling timeline and excavation
REALISTIC• The pipes come in standard form of 20
meters long. 20 pieces of pipes are produced every 6-hrs which comes out to be 80 pieces/day. A total of 381 pipes would be produced at an approximation of 5 days .
TIME RELATEDDuration of project is 9-months.
![Page 4: Power Point Presentation for (Advance Project Management)](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022062522/5873b60f1a28abbc788b47ed/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Scope (Constraints, Assumptions, Limits, Exclusion, & Inclusion)
■ Scope: The project consists of the design, permitting and construction, pollution control structures, water control structures, A or B Manhole 48” Diameter (up to 4’ deep), and 12 catch basins. System maintenance and repair will be done only up to one month after final inspection.
■ Assumptions: Steady & Uniform gravity flow, company personnel have adequate knowledge to carry out project, design will follow health, safety, quality, & performance requirements, all research information can be obtained from open sources. Etc.
■ Limits: We would be limited for only one month after inspection, Future modification or structural changes would not be the company’s responsibility.

Significance (Merit, Profit, and/ or Benefit)
■ Significance: The continuous flow of storm water which is caused by excess rainfall created flooding, erosion and transportation of potential pollutants to the local bodies of water in the rural area.
■ Benefit: • Erosion Control• Standardized Drainage for neighboring communities• Elimination of death rate between the ages of 4-13 years old.

Proposed ApproachSolution Approach
■ Dig the trenches in segments whereby we pour the concrete base before laying the first segment of pipes and connect all necessary fittings.
■ While digging the second segment, the previous segment would be backfilled which will work simultaneously for other sub-segments of the solution approach.
■ Less expensive

Contractual Aspects■ ACMK will hire consultants to provide an overall assessment of the
surrounding areas■ This aspect will facilitate the needs of the community while ensuring efficient
and effective project initiative■ The consultant will create line of communication with the community in order
to gain feedback and address unplanned issues that may arise during the length of the project
■ Field workers will meet the demand based on the timeframe of the project■ Contract with equipment company to provide all construction equipment
needs

Cost■ The linear meters of the total area where the pipes would be laid is 7,620 meters
which gives us a number of 381 pipes of 20 meters long.■ The total cost of the project is one million, four hundred and eighteen thousand,
five hundred and forty eight thousand dollars only ($1,418,548).■ A or B Manhole 48” Diameter (up to 4’ deep) would be installed at every 40-
meter for cleanup and future services.■ Since the project is a cost-plus proposal, it includes all materials and installation,
hiring of heavy duty equipment’s unless otherwise noted. The notation TDB = To Be Determined which indicates that it would be an industry accepted estimate as a standard cost-plus price has not be established.
■ This is an industry accepted and current estimate for any materials that are approved and permitted by the City but not included in this document.
■ Cost for manholes are assumed to be precast, unless otherwise noted. This is accepted and current estimate for any structures that are poured in place.

Evaluation Methods■ Defining phase: Designers and Engineers will develop the project according to
the latest Florida Building Codes and create the plans and specifications.■ All submittals for materials and equipment shall be collected prior to the
execution and presented to the city for approval. ■ Executing phase: During construction of the project, regular inspections shall be
performed for certain work by a respective City Inspector.■ Inspectors shall make sure that the work being done is according to the plans
and specification■ Inspection = Pass → Work can continue as planned■ Inspection ≠ Pass → Work is stopped until necessary changes have been met
and pass re-inspection
