Proposal for Installation of power protection, effective guard against power fluctuations, over – voltage, transient voltage and Lightning protection according to DIN VDE 0100 part 430 and DIN VDE 0185 part 1

We undertake the evaluation, planning, and installation of power protection equipment, known as N-Valve and S-valve on location at aforementioned premises.

Equipment is exclusively manufactured in the E.U. and carries a 24 months mandatory warranty, covering defects arising from power fluctuations and lightning. Not covered is the unauthorized tampering and re-

installation by unauthorized personnel

Procedures : The assigned contractor will inspect the premises and conduct a thorough Test with applicable instruments, the results of which will be presented to the Person-in-charge

Equipment specifications :

N-valves : Dimension : 116 x 90 mm, solid state variable resistors Technical Specifications: Tested according to DIN VDE 0675-6 Maximum permissible operating Voltage single PH: 280 V Lightning surge : 100 000 Amp Protection level : 2500 Volts

Lightning impact spark-over voltage : 4 000 V Pre-Protection in TNS grids : 100 A Short-circuit stability with 100 A fuse : 25 000 A Operating temperature range : 40 -80 degrees C Including remote recording fault contacts, normally closed AC 250 V/ 0.5 A, DC 250 V/ 0,1 A Conductor : max 50 mm square Mounted on DIN EN50022 rail Housing, Master control Application, Design : The N-valve is used for lightning/over voltage protection of subsequent

electrical installations, also for protection against direct lightning. The combined N-Valve is conceived in conformity with classes B and C for lightning protection equipotential bonding according to DIN 0110-1. The unit is a four pole arrester, with a circuit containing varistors arranged in parallel and lightning-circuit-proof spark-gaps. The varistors alone are able to discharge surge currents in the range of some 10 000 A (waveform 8/20). The energy at higher surge currents (direct lightning strike) is discharged by the integrated spark gaps. This causes the spark-gaps to blow out (quenching chamber openings at the rear of the housing), which means that special installation conditions must be complied with (section 7).

Safety instructions

The N-Valve is only to be installed by qualified technicians in accordance with DIN regulations, its use is only permitted under the conditions stated and as shown in this instructions.

Especially note that the opening and otherwise tampering with the equipment is not allowed for safety reasons and invalidates the warranty

Installation is preceded by extensive measurements carried out by us. S-Valves will be mounted where applicable

Special installation conditions apply

Solid state design ensures a long lifespan of equipmentInspection 1 year free. Tempering by third parties willVoid warranty.

The installation will be carried out by experts, theequipment will be supplied by Safrigro S.A.
