CAPITALIZE YOUR FONT/LETTERS Holding down the “Shift” while typing a letter will allow you to
capitalize Holding down the “Shift” will allow you to type special characters If you hold down the “Caps Lock” it will allow you to continuously type
words in all capital letters without holding down the “Shift” key

How to access Microsoft Word on a computer
• Hold your mouse and hover your pointer over the “Start” button on the bottom left of your desktop.
• Now with your pointer finger push on the left “select” button
• Now you will see the all programs button
• Hover your pointer over the all programs and push the left “select” button

Once you have selected your font size and your font style then you are now ready to begin.
Now you are ready to begin
Once you have created your document then you have the option to save, print or delete it
When you see a red line under the text then you know it is misspelled
When you see a green line that means a grammar error has occurred

HOW DO YOU OPEN, CLOSE AND MINIMIZE YOUR WINDOW?
To minimize a window brings it down to the taskbar
Maximize or Restore brings it back to full screen “X” closes a program or window
WHAT IS THE INTERNET? The Internet is how we communicate with the world
through research, job searching, pictures and social media
The Internet is also referred to as The World Wide Web It provides us with a connection to the outside world
with a click of your mouse.

Application tool used to access the Internet There are many different types of web browsers
WHAT IS A SEARCH ENGINE? A search engine is a specialized website that helps you find exactly what you are looking for on the Internet using keywords.
Many different search engines to choose from the choice is yours

• Keywords provide your search engine with the exact person, place or thing you are looking for• Know what it is you are looking for • Be sure to specify the location of
what you are looking for if you are looking for a business• When job searching never give
anyone your credit information
WHAT IS AN EMAIL ADDRESS?
A virtual address in which you send and receive digital messages through the Internet
Is necessary to allow you to apply for job opportunities
Identifies you to an employer as a way to contact you
Allows others to contact you without coming to your private residence
Resumes should always be uploaded to your email to simplify the job application process
