Basic Needs AssistanceSalvation Army423- 308- 3467Services: The agency offers financial and emergency assistance. Among other options, they offer utility assistance, free box fans, air conditioners, prescription expense, gas bill assistance, holiday toys or meals, and other forms of aid.
Bradley / Cleveland Community Services(423) 479-4111offers many forms of aid and support. The agency offers numerous services an resources to the low income, elderly, working poor, underprivileged and the unemployed in Bradley County and Cleveland Tennessee. Services at this center include home delivered meals for seniors, weatherizing, rent assistance, low income home emergency assistance program, utility bill help, and commodity distribution. In addition they also provide supervision for congregate meals at senior centers. Last, but not least, they manages the Cleveland homeless emergency shelter at a nearby site, and offer emergency food.
Life Skills/Job TrainingLeadership Cleveland—This community leadership training program provides participants with an overview of the many facets that make up our community. The eight-month program focuses on local government, local economy, health and social services, education, public safety, law enforcement, environment and state government through tours, presentations and discussion.
Teachers Academy—Teachers participate in a four-week, on-site project in an area business/industry during the summer. By working on a special project or shadowing throughout the company, the teacher will “experience” business while providing a service to the business/industry. The goal is to impact classroom teaching through exposure to skills necessary to perform well in the workplace. Teachers are required to create lesson plans to share in their classrooms.
Small Business Development Center (SBDC)—No-cost services provided by the SBDC include business plan preparation, one-on-one business management counseling, and financial planning and loan applications. For more information call 423-472-6247.
HousingCleveland Emergency Shelter Services: assists the very low income and homeless, with a focus on housing challenges and employment. As far as financial aid goes, the emergency solutions grant may be able to assist with paying a security deposit on a new apartment or coordinate the issuance of a loan for housing or rent costs. They also partner with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency on some solutions.

Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland brings people together to build and repair homes,
communities and hope. Many families in Bradley County are in need of decent and affordable
housing. Sub-standard housing includes overcrowding, homelessness, unsafe living
environment, structural damage and a variety of other needs. Habitat provides a long-term
impact that changes a family’s life forever.
Women’s ServicesWomen’s Council—This program serves as a professional networking and information source
for women in the community. Its mission is to educate, empower, mentor and promote
women’s businesses and projects through quarterly programming. It seeks to become a highly
recognized and empowered group leading to enhanced quality of life and economic growth
through issues of particular interest to women.
Senior Services Senior Center
Services: Senior Centers can be thought of as a "one stop shop", where older adults can
continue to find ways to improve their lives. Often, those that seek out the assistance of a
senior center will find that the interaction and education available at these centers can help to
manage, and often avoid, chronic illnesses such as diabetes or chronic lung disease.

Economic Development Organizations Continued Financial Counselors of America 901-722-5000Services: Receive access to such programs and services as comprehensive three-year program which is designed to both consolidate and reduce credit card debts, help clients avoid bankruptcy, and talk to HUD approved housing counselors to learn about alternatives to a foreclosure.
BEST Partnerships (Business & Education Serving Together)—This program unites the efforts of the business/industry sector and local school systems to forge partnerships that involve a commitment of time, energy and expertise between a Chamber-member business and a selected public school or private Chamber-member school. Each partnership is designed to benefit both business and education through available resources.
Church Outreach MinistriesCatholic Charities of Chattanooga-agency that supports low income residents of Bradley County Tennessee. As resources allow, the agency supports their clients by offering budgeting classes and counseling to them, which is a form of self-sufficiency.
The Caring Place-The Caring Place is an ecumenical Christian, non-profit organization. Its mission is to model the love of Christ by addressing basic spiritual, physical and social needs of people in Bradley County, Tennessee.
Community Service OrganizationsAllied Arts Council—The mission of the Allied Arts Council is to enhance the quality of life in Cleveland/Bradley County by strengthening communication, increasing cooperation, and providing advocacy and support of the arts and leisure organizations in the community. Teachers in Bradley County and Cleveland City Schools, along with Chamber-member private schools may apply for Arts in Education grants, which are presented each fall by the Arts in Education Committee of the Allied Arts Council.

Children and Youth Organizations I AM READY Center – Cleveland

Services: The I.A.M. READY Center is the Bradley County site for the Jim Casey Youth
Opportunities Initiative, operated by the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. The
I.A.M. READY Center prepares youth aging out of foster care for the realities of the real world
so that they may continue toward success. The Center serves young people between the ages
of 14-26 who have spent at least one day in foster care after the age of 14, living in or around
the Bradley County Area.
Youth Leadership Program—The Youth Leadership program is an eight-month leadership development program for rising juniors and seniors from area high schools. A selection committee of Leadership Cleveland alumni makes the final selection of students for the program. Applications for the 2017-18 class are currently being accepted.
Behavioral and Addiction ServicesFocus Treatment Centers-comprehensive and affordable treatment and advocacy for adults
struggling with substance use and eating disorders. Our Whole Person Treatment approach
reflects each patient's value and self worth while also providing hope that holds the
celebrated promise of recovery.
Journey Pure Serenity Network-Journey Pure Serenity Network includes residential and
Intensive Outpatient services in East Tennessee, dedicated to providing quality, affordable and
effective treatment for patients struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health
disorders. Serenity Women's Center offers highly-specialized programming for women who are
pregnant or who have experienced trauma.

Museums, Attractions, Festivals, and EventsReflection Riding Native Plant SaleThis plant sale offers more than 100 species of native perennials, grasses, shrubs, and trees – all propagated by volunteers. Various programs open to guests on Friday and Saturday include wildflower walks, hummingbird presentations, and fall floral designs. A special members-only shopping preview will be held on Thursday, September 8. The event will close with a canoe trip down Lookout Creek.
Creative Discovery Museum Chocolate FestivalHeld from noon to 4 p.m., this 4th annual festival celebrates the history, lore, science, and taste of chocolate. Hands-on activities include making cocoa butter lotion and sampling different chocolates. Children can learn how cocoa beans are harvested and turned into chocolate, along with how to make mousse, truffles, and chocolate chips.
Tennessee Valley Railroad MuseumEnjoy a weekend of train rides, live musical entertainment, special exhibits, a petting zoo, and blacksmith demonstrations. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the area’s railroad history and visit the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

Ruby Falls Haunted CavernThe nightmare returns to Lookout Mountain beginning September 30. Descend 26 stories into a haunted cave crawling with monsters…where no one can hear you scream. Then take a short bus ride to the upper haunt. The Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern has been named one of the top 10 haunted attractions in the nation by Rand McNally. This year features “Flesh Farm” – a world torn by infection and chaos with a brutal society that thrives on the madness.
Wine Over Water Presented by FSG BankThis festival brings nearly 250 wines to one of the world’s longest pedestrian bridges overlooking the Tennessee River. Sample wines from more than 100 worldwide wineries while enjoying music from regional musicians. Beginning this year, four local chefs will be on site to demonstrate cooking and offer sample appetizers. Proceeds benefit Cornerstones for Historic Preservation in Chattanooga.
Autumn Children’s FestivalChildren of all ages can enjoy carnival games, inflatables, a petting zoo, kiddie train, arts and crafts, face painting, and more! Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga.FREE, with small fees for activities.

Summerville Steam SpecialsTake a ride along historic train routes during this 49th annual series of Autumn Leaf Specials. The vintage trains run from Chattanooga to Summerville, Georgia on Saturdays and limited Sundays in October and early November. This 100-mile round trip is pulled by an authentic steam locomotive and features a dining car luncheon.

Visit the top deck to hear live narration about Chattanooga’s rich historical past.
St. Francis Day and the Annual Blessing of AnimalsCome to St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church for pony rides, a petting zoo, and free food. The day begins with a pet parade, followed by a short liturgy in the Episcopal tradition to celebrate creation. Veterinarians, pet sitters, and animal day cares are on site to answer questions. If you’re searching for a new furry friend, local rescue organizations also bring adoptable pets to meet and take home!
Bark in the ParkThis annual event for dog lovers will feature a spooky pooch parade, adoption fair, vendor market, obedience and service dog exhibitions, blessing of the animals, best trick contest, and best costume contest.
