2. Once you’re on their website, select the “Sign up, it’s free” button.
3. Please create an account with Zoom using your @miners.utep.edu account
4. A verification link will be sent to your UTEP email account
5. Please visit my.utep.edu and select “Student Mail” to check your inbox
6. Log in with your UTEP credentials. If you do not have UTEP credentials yet, visit newaccount.utep.edu to create your account.
7. Find the email that says, “Please activate your Zoom account”
8. Click “Activate Account” to verify your email address
9. You’ll be directed to the Zoom website to enter your name and create a password. Please
enter your information and select “Continue.”
10. You’ll be asked to “Invite Your Colleagues,” please select “Skip this step.”
11. Once you’ve logged in, please select “Start Meeting Now” to download Zoom onto your computer.
12. You should see a download window appear on your screen, select the download below the “Click Zoom” orange box to open Zoom.
13. Once you open Zoom, you should see a window like this:
14. Once it opens, select “Join with Computer Audio”
15. If you see yourself, you’ve joined a meeting successfully! Test your audio and video capabilities.
16. This is where you can mute your audio and turn your camera off.
17. Familiarize yourself with Zoom, once you’re done end the meeting!
1. On the day of your orientation, open Zoom and select “Join”
2. You will be asked to enter your meeting ID:
3. From the Virtual Orientation Experience Reminder Email (sent the day before), copy the Meeting ID number and insert it into the window:
4. You’ll then be asked to “Enter Meeting Password.” Reference the Reminder Email for the password, and insert it into the window:
5. You’ll be shown into a waiting room, and your program will begin shortly!
