WELCOME TO THE HEART OF THE ALPS
Brenner is located at one of the most important north-south transport links in Europe. To the north, Munich is 200 km away. Southwards, it is 235 km to Verona. The Brenner has a long tradition as a market and trading place, which goes back in its roots to the Romans. Today, the Brenner is still well worth a trip and a stop-over as a "gateway to Italy".

A PLACE WITH HISTORY THE BRENNER (-PASS)
The Brenner was and is an emotional place for many people north and south of the border. Their parents and grandparents drove to the Brenner to shop and "smuggled" their purchases back home across the border.
Since the 1950s, the Brenner is also the gateway to the holiday regions. Many German and Austrian tourists pass the Brenner on their way to the Adriatic or Riviera, as do many Italians on their way to Austria and Germany. In total, that's over 20 million people per year.
